yeah, I started out on C1/C2 in the 80's, this was later when I worked at Battleschool in the 90s

but I liked the infantry for the rivalry, I like to fight

like I can't be stuck on a ship having to get along with guys for months on end

I got into fights, just to blow of steam

I got into more than my share of fights lol. 95% of the fights I was in in my life were during the 3 years I was in the navy.

If CNN gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, leftists would believe everything they typed.

95% of the alcohol I drank was when I was in the navy too lol.

Were they in CSOR/JTF2?

That would be a pretty scary bank robber. 1% of cops can deal with a guy like that.

same thing with Darnell Bass

not an evil man at all

he's highly intelligent

and he was totally committed to the Airborne

another great soldier

who just wandered off the path into criminal enterprise in his wayward youth

but if you were in combat, you would want these guys in the trench with you

that is all that is important to an infantryman

Clayton Matchee started out as this skinny Indian kid

and he was socially awkward

so he got picked on

that made him into a bully

but actually he was a coward

like he would play the tough guy

but if you stood your ground, he would start sucking up to you, trying to be your buddy

even tho I loved to get in scraps

by the standards of Pet I was a lover not a fighter

all the best parties were in my block in G101

Petawawa was kind of intimidating when you first got there

Home of the Warriors

Sassy's

but actually, once you live there for awhile

it's a really nice community

people took me in, treated me like family

but it's like being on an elite sports team

like being on the Leafs

so you are driven to keep the standard up, no matter what they throw at you

but like the craziness you are experiencing now with the government ?

you are in a kind of prison camp at the mercy of the federal government ?

this is what it's like

this is what it's like to be RCR in Petawawa

Tom Koch would be a scary bank robber

Tom Koch was scary, intense

like 6'4" 225 lbs

he wore glasses, he had a square jaw, he was in superb shape

he could easily kill you with his bare hands

but he was calm, cool, collected, didn't show much emotion

like if we were ROFL, Tom would just crack a smile, maybe let out one "ha !"

he was like something out of an action movie

but from what I know, Tom just supplied the guns

Bass and some Militia guy did the actual robbery

I read in the papers that he was in on it, years afterwards

I  liked him tho, he was fun to hang with, and I looked up to him

Here is an article from the CBC, yes even they agree something has to be done with our military, due to our new unstable times....

For years, people in the defence community have been warning that the next big war would be a "come as you are" event — with each nation showing up and fighting with what it has.

According to several defence analysts, Canada's four-decade old CF-18s would be vulnerable to Russia's modern S-400 Triumf air defence system.

You know it is bad when experts claim that our navy is one of the best equipped among our military, sad really when those ships which were last updated in 2014, with the first ship being built in 1987.

I just want to add this all those wpns they have been sending over to Ukraine they are out of DND inventory, which is not all that large , and as of today no new contracts have been let to replace any of that...

The army and air force were a different story. Only 65.4 per cent of army equipment and vehicles were considered serviceable — a steep decline from the previous budget year. The air force could muster only 60.8 per cent of its fleet for active service in the 2019-20 timeframe.

Canadian troops in Afghanistan used a phrase cribbed from the Americans to describe the Ottawa establishment's approach to the war: "The army is at war and the nation is at the mall."

It seems the globe and mail have also put out an article , that might shed some light on our military spending " hell must be freezing over" it seems the most of the media are now seeing clearly now that something must be done, the question remains what will Canadians do, and then what will our government do... my answer is i don't have any faith in either of them, and we will remain at the status quo... maybe next PM... keep your chin up and stick on the ice DND

Canada may finally have the political will to strengthen our depleted defence capacity | John Ibbitson - Canadian Politics (headtopics.com)

Maybe we could give Ukraine our F-18's , and the US could give us some F-16 as well...
