Don Gaetz provided a March 25, 2021 email from David Goldberg, an Assistant US Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, to his attorney, Jeffrey Neiman, to Politico. According to Politico, the email reads in part:

“I can confirm that your client is working with my office as well as the FBI at the government’s request in order to determine if a federal crime has been committed. This has been discussed with, and approved by, the FBI as well as leadership in my office and components of main justice.”

“The government thanks you for working cooperatively with the FBI,” the email concludes.

There’s not much point arguing the specific facts at this early stage but Gaetz’s performance on Fox was strange by any standard. If there’s nothing at all to the case, ie neither illegal nor barely legal, he should save his indignation for later. 
 

When it comes to sex, anything is possible. I think it is fair to say that party affiliation isn’t a great predictor of behaviour.

Gaetz says there was no 17 year old. And if the FBI had been investigating this for 2 years without charges being laid (assuming there's anything to the charges) they'd be inexcusable levels of incompetent. It would be easy enough to prove.

Oh and they know where Hunter Biden's laptop, silly...or at least they did. The FBI had it. The computer repair shop Hunter dropped it off at had a copy.

If that guy is innocent, why isn't he at least suing Gaetz for libel? The guy is a lawyer.

It’s very difficult to win defamation cases in the US. Why doesn’t Gaetz sue the Beast for saying he’s fond of illegal drugs?

He isn’t exactly getting a rush of full-throated support from his colleagues. There were weak noises from Jordan and Greene who have problems of their own and virtually nothing from McCarthy. His hero Trump has been quiet so far too. 

A traditional Christian conservative he certainly ain’t, at least not a discreet one. Republican pols are muttering about ‘a proclivity for younger women’, no doubt completely legal.

Now Gaetz is being exposed for his ties to another Florida Republican Lolita-lover, Joel Greenberg, who’s already been convicted of trafficking 17-yr olds. Apparently he and Gaetz were even using Greenbergs position as a county official to cook up fake IDs for their underage girls. 
 

And we hear now that Gaetz was showing nude photos of women he claimed to have sex wit to his colleagues in Congress on the House floor, and bragging about orgies. 
 

Republicans always turn out to be the biggest sexual perverts. They make Clinton look look like a prude in comparison. I think that’s partially because the moneyed powers that own the Republican Party deliberately choose candidates they can control with Kompromat, partly because unhealthy perversion is a natural biproduct of sexually repressed conservatism, and partly because perverts looking to commit their actions in secret and under cover naturally gravitate to the party of conservative bible-thumping and phony moral posturing to throw people off their scent.
