OftenWrong Posted February 16, 2020 Report Posted February 16, 2020 China now also has a serious outbreak of the bird flu. For Chinese communists, the chickens are literally coming home to roost. Quote

SpankyMcFarland Posted February 26, 2020 Report Posted February 26, 2020 Very little can be said with certainty at the moment. The mortality rate may be less than 2% given that many of those infected were asymptomatic and missed so far. Even if it’s ‘just’ 1% it would still be more dangerous than regular flu. SpankyMcFarland Posted February 28, 2020 Report Posted February 28, 2020 (edited) Apparently, the South Koreans have tested thousands already which has bumped up their number of positive cases considerably. Do we have enough of the following: testing kits; protective equipment; ventilators; drugs; beds? I kinda know we don’t have enough beds if a big surge happens. This is the sort of situation where you’d like to still have someone like Jane Philpott as Minister of Health or at least in the Cabinet... SpankyMcFarland Posted March 1, 2020 Report Posted March 1, 2020 If the Chinese continue letting exotic respiratory viruses jump the species barrier, regular flu season will become a more rigorous weeding-out process for geezers.
