What about Kamil Oharis,

Seemed to be like an elitist bitch, but she didn't seem clueless about budgets.

Canada is far more dependent on export trade than China or the United States, and is the least diversified.

What stats prove that Canada is more dependent on exports than China?  China would be a shadow of itself without its trade surplus.  Canada is growing with a trade deficit.  Eventually China will be a massive market for its own production.  The question is, will it be a market for our exports?  That was the hope of globalization.  If China maintains its lower wages and protectionism, then we know the answer.  That’s why we have the WTO, to ensure fair trade, but the rules of the game were too unfair and weakly enforced.

What stats ?  The same stats as before...Canada's GDP is about 30% dependent on export trade (75% to a single nation)....China's GDP about 20%...and the USA's about 13%.

The WTO was never a good answer...slow to react...and still sanctioning tariffs & protectionism (including those by Canada).

China is not going away....learn how to thrive in its market or lose out....it's not complicated.

Follow the money. I wonder what percentage of Trump voters know what last years budget deficit was?

He's outspending Obama. How's the even possible?

I think you need to pass a law. No more living beyond your means. It should be illegal to borrow money, in times of economic prosperity.

I'm starting to think, Canada should start building a wall, so we can contain the Chaos at your border, when America collapses.

I can see poor starving white American's begging to come into Canada.

I give it 10 years, 20 at best.

Will still be standing, and you will slip into a third world nation.

Even with Justin Trudeau, it would take 100 years to Bankrupt Canada.

America will be first. Just wait until a SJW kicks spending into overdrive.

Bye, Bye America. China will swoop in for the killshot.

Why else do you think they are lending so much money?

There just looking for an excuse to take over American assets.

China is patiently waiting for America to go broke.

It's been their plan all along.

Actually, America owns far more of Canada than China owns of the USA.

...and somehow, that has always been OK, despite Maude Barlow's warnings to the contrary.

Hence this "bitch" thread.

Canada has far more resources, and a solid financial foundation.

America has been running on a house of cards for far too long.

I'm not worried about America taking over Canada, I'm worried about China taking over America

Stop spending money. You just shut down your government, and almost had riots in the streets.

You're too close to the edge.

No...Americans take far more risks than Canadians...always have....we live on the edge.

I'm not worried about what happens to Canada...see the difference ?

Being a net exporter and having trade surpluses should always be a goal.  It’s obviously harder for smaller countries to produce all types of goods from all sectors without a big domestic market, unless they are export driven, which is a reason for Canada’s population to grow: It makes it easier to be independent and to tap all of our resources without relying too heavily on foreign investment.  Interesting that many posters on here prefer that Canada maintain its relatively small population.  I used to think 100 million was the magic number.  Given climate change and the pressures of mass migrations, maybe it’s better to err on the side of caution.  Britain was a successful middle power with 60 million.  At 66 million in 2019, Britain has had enough of immigration.  Of course Canada has a much larger geography, but it makes no difference if everyone is huddled in the south.  Go north young man...

We want you to succeed, but we can't keep defending your stupidity.

Then live with the consequences of foreign leadership and policies that impact Canada (e.g. Trump), and stop complaining about it.

Ontario's economy (GDP) is an astounding 50% dependent on exports to the USA.

China is not the biggest risk to Canada....

We do...and we will do it again too.   Canada is America's closest and oldest...enemy.

Canadians watch on American media...because it matters to them.

Americans don't give a damn whether Canada lays, stays, or prays....and neither does China.

This is why we don't want you going bankrupt. Why can't Americans figure out math?

If you spend more then you earn, you go broke!

Wrong...America has a much higher credit limit than Canada.

Even NHL players want to be paid in U.S. dollars...not Canadian pesos.

I trust the Russians a lot more than the Chinese. Russia should be our ally.

I can see you haven't done any business in Russia.   VERY different from China, but how do you suppose a handfull of oligarchs got to be billionaires overnight?   I'll give you a hint: it wasn't from being honest nor ethical.   In China, you will get wiped out by unfair business practices, in Russia someone just puts a 45 to your head and squeezes the trigger.

True, except that China has a set of domestic rules and restrictions that can be successfully navigated once relationships are established.   The Chinese government is stable, and the Chinese nationals that I have worked with are focused on business, not virtue signaling or a feminist agenda.

China vs. Russia...I pick China.
