I think that this is now a legitimate question.

Justin Trudeau faces re-election in October 2019 - because of a "law" that can be easily changed.

Donald Trump, by a "law" very difficult to change,  faces re-election in November 2020.

I see a difference.

Will Repubilican want him run again? At the end, he is an outsider.

The Republicans want to win, Trump gives them the best chance of winning in 2020, just as he did in 2016. Except now he's an incumbent which makes his chances of winning more likely in 2020 than in 2016, especially when the Democrats have no one who could beat him.

The probability of incumbent president Donald Trump winning re-election are far greater than winning in 2016.

Incumbents rarely lose, and when they do, nine times out of ten, it's to someone who will serve at least two-terms as POTUS. The Democrats have no 2-term POTUS's waiting in the wings to save them from Trump, so they are screwed.

Yes...outsider Donald Trump destroyed sixteen other Republican "insiders" in the 2016 presidential primary elections.

I am not sure his tactics will work this time. Republican are prepared.

C'mon, did you remeber his 2016 run? He would say some outrage (stupid) stuff every week, and he was the laughing stock,  no one thought he would won in 2016.

I thought he would win, I even bet on him to win at +260, cha-ching. I had my doubts that he would after the Access Hollywood tape, but in the end, I was right,. Republicans aren't prepared to beat Trump in 2020, they are prepared to support him in 2020 with no real challenge. Trump has some of the highest approval ratings among Republicans since Bush after 9/11. The Republicans have no one on the bench who could beat Trump in the 2020 primary, even if they wanted to, which they don't.

Justin Trudeau now has even lower job approval ratings from polled Canadians....Trump is at least 10 points higher in the U.S.

Trudeau's AWR & SNC troubles have pushed Trump off of the top headlines in Canada.

JT has an easiest way to improve his ratings. He justs needs to huff and puff about big bad Trump :P

Justin Trudeau says he is 'deeply saddened' to learn of the deaths of 18 Canadian citizens in Ethiopian Air crash, while Trump remains silent on the eight Americans killed

Playing politics with airliner crash victims is low hanging fruit...and what about the other 139 dead victims who were not "Canadian" ?

Trump will always get more headlines in Canada than Trudeau gets in the United States.

They will not only work with his "base", they will work to cause even more chaos on the Democrat side, which is already unstable because of socialist extremists.

By any political measure, Trump has been successful with his antics and there is no reason to expect him to change.

It's the Democrats whose antics aren't working anymore, yet they keep doubling down on those failed antics, which is a big reason Trump is such a lock in 2020. They learned no lessons from 2016 and will repeat the same mistakes in 2020, but on steroids this time.

"We're Not Trump" is not a winning platform, who knew?

Trudeau is now a victim of his own rhetoric and feminist ideology....Trump does not have such a burden, being free to carry on with breaking things and disrupting the status quo.

Trump can get away with things that no other career politician could survive.

Trudeau can probably squeak out a minority government in October, but Trump is playing a different game...winner take all in 2020 as the president of a republican form of government.

I was surprised when Trump defeated Clinton in 2016 (I voted for neither), and now the Democrats are squabbling with each other over out how to defeat him in 2020.

100% sure Democrats will double down on socialist (but not as extreme as AOC or Sanders) this time. I don't believe they have another choice. Democrats' base alone cannot beat Trump's base + Republicans' base at the U.S. electoral college.

They might go with Biden, and if they do, they won't lose as badly as if they go with Harris or Sanders, but they'll still lose.

If the Dems go with a center-left type, like Biden:
They'll lose like Mondale did to Reagan in 1984. They'll lose like Dole did to Clinton in 1996. They'll lose like Kerry did to Bush in 2004. They'll lose like Romney did to Obama in 2012.

If the Dems go with far left type, like Sanders or Harris:
They'll lose like McGovern did to Nixon in 1972.

How are The Democrats?

Sorry to offend your delicate sensibilities.  One is up for re-election sooner but has a higher approval rating, the other faces re-election later but has lower ratings and is under investigation.  I figured it to be a push.  How do I vote dumb comment?

Trump's approval rating is higher than Trudeau's, he faces re-election later, and the investigation is a nothing burger. Both will probably be re-elected, but Trump is more likely to be re-elected, of the two.
