WestCoastRunner Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 Senator John McCain has been diagnosed with an agressive form of brain cancer. I like and respect McCain for his integrity and his fighting spirit. This diagnosis could explain some of his previous missteps during some of the hearings. Some of his history: "McCain followed his father and grandfather, both four-star admirals, into the United States Navy, graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1958. He became a naval aviator, flying ground-attack aircraft from aircraft carriers. During the Vietnam War, he was almost killed in the 1967 USS Forrestal fire. In October 1967, while on a bombing mission over Hanoi, he was shot down, seriously injured, and captured by the North Vietnamese. He was a prisoner of war until 1973. McCain experienced episodes of torture, and refused an out-of-sequence early repatriation offer. His war wounds have left him with lifelong physical limitations." "Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, McCain entered the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. There, he was a friend and informal leader for many of his classmates,[11] and sometimes stood up for targets of bullying.[4] He also became a lightweight boxer.[12] McCain did well in academic subjects that interested him, such as literature and history, but studied only enough to pass subjects he struggled with, such as mathematics.[4][13] He came into conflict with higher-ranking personnel and did not always obey the rules, which contributed to a low class rank (894 of 899), despite a high IQ.[11][14] McCain graduated in 1958.[11]" Source:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_McCain Quote I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Wilber Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 Not a good cancer to have but it sounds like the surgery went well. Hopefully he can beat it. Quote "Never trust a man who has not a single redeeming vice". WSC
Omni Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 . McCain has been a stalwart supporter of his party for many years. If I were an American I wouldn't be a Republican, but I could certainly respect opponents such as McCain. I can understand his chagrin with the way his party has been derailed under Trump's "guidance". When Trump stated McCain wasn't a war hero because he got shot down and was captured and served years in a prison camp while serving his country, I felt like I would like to punch donald so F****g hard in his fake orange face, he would starve to death bouncing. Trump evaded going to war by "trumping" up a story about bone spurs. I wish McCain a speedy recovery. Quote
capricorn Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 Sad news indeed. Having recently lost a 30 some year old nephew to brain cancer, I'm not so hopeful. He had two surgeries but the cancer spread to his vital organs. He was gone after 1 and a half years following diagnosis. Damn cancer!! Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. GostHacked Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 As much as it sucks for anyone to have cancer, it's hard to feel sorry for a guy who called some of the ISIS members 'good guys'. Let's not forget his support for the ongoing and failing War on Terror. Quote

Topaz Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 In my experience is that once a person get cancer, it may go away but it will always come back as in in the case with my mother, who had and it came back 25 years later in a different location and the older u r, the treatments just reduce the chances and since McCain is 80, I doubt if he'll beat it this time, but miracles do happen. The accurate sources that describe the US support for the neo-nazis that took over the government of Ukraine after the US overthrew the legitimate government. Remember Victoria Nuland walking down the streets of Kiev with neo-nazis. Quote

McCain the arch war criminal says and said tons of stupid things. He's a nutty far right winger for dog's sakes. The USA is the biggest global threat. It has been for well over a century with its genocides, its myriad war crimes, its voluminous terrorism. Quote
sharkman Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 I was saddened to hear about this. I don't agree with all of his views or politics, but he's a wonderful person who's suffered a lot. He deserves to beat this, but sometimes life isn't exactly fair. My mother had cancer about 10 years ago, and it was quite an ordeal. One of the chemotherapy drugs was called FU something. She said, referring to the FU part, that it was well named. 2 Quote

sharkman Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 Thanks, but she beat cancer. She also beat an aneurysm. She's one of those that just keeps on ticking! Quote

McCain was no better than Hillary in wanting to keep the crimes of the Obama corruption regime alive and well where Trump wanted to put an end to that corruption by wanting to drain the swamp. And I despised that guy for that because he was against the draining of the swamp. How can anyone be against anyone else who wanted to clean house. Personally, I think that McCain was nothing more that a traitor to the American people. My opinion of course. Quote

Lets hope we can figure how to beat it. As long as big pharma keep getting their way cancer will never be cured. Trillions of dollars have been collected and donated to cancer research for umpting decades now, and still no cure, and the medical and drug industry are not trying to find a cure either because they make trillions of dollars in profit from it. We watch millions of fools run, walk, swim, and ride to conquer cancer and they are no where near eliminating cancer completely. It's all about the money with the cancer industry. Sure chemotherapy or radiation may help to keep people alive for a number of years longer but eventually their cancer will return again thanks in part to those two treatments mentioned. Alternative medicine appears to be the only route one can go to try and eliminate cancer for good. Quote
