Which Colonizer Would You've Preferred?

I'll say the chinese because it is happening right now so might as well get on board and they may at some point have access to my computer. 

P.S - We have very little access to yams and most of what we buy as "yams" are in fact sweet potatoes.

That's interesting, because at my grocery store the yams and sweet potatoes are in bins next to each other and they do look different.   But I looked it up, and yup, they're both different varieties of sweet potato.  Thanks for teaching me something new.      Although now I want to find 'real' yams.   

Also, on topic, I heard the Chinese were taking over about 30 years ago; used to be a regular topic of conversation.   So far, we've managed to avoid complete assimilation, despite the prevalence of Chinese restaurants.

If i were to be colonized I think it would be the coolest for it to be an invading alien species.  After that, the British, so I could understand their language in order to more easily resist them or plan my escape.

I want to qualify my choice - I once watched an episode of No Reservations (or something) where they ate raw blood soup in northern Thailand.  I'm much more interested in being colonized by the ones who make pad thai.

Coming from the culture of the colonizer I think the best answer is "Us!" . We did a wonderful job of colonizing didn't we? We sure did. We're wonderful colonizers.
