Muslim antisemitism the cause of the Israeli conflict

Not the only cause. There are factors like water shortages which exacerbate the situation.  But the origin was the antisemitism of Muslims as evidenced by the many antisemitic statements scattered through their religious books and the antisemitism which fills their culture, their media and their politics. And it doesn't matter if the Muslim is in a neighbouring country or halfway around the world. For example, Malaysia.

In Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, politicians and civil servants devote a surprising amount of time to thinking about Israel, 7,612 km away. Sometimes they appear to be obsessed by it. Malaysia has never had a dispute with Israel, but the government encourages the citizens to hate Israel and also to hate Jews whether they are Israelis or not.  http://news.nationalpost.com/full-comment/robert-fulford-anti-semitism-without-jews-in-malaysia

We know from surveys that Jews aren't popular people in most of the Muslim world, most particularly in the middle east.

Percentage of Muslims with Unfavorable Views of Jews:

  • Jordan - 100 percent
  • Lebanon - 99 percent
  • Egypt - 98 percent
  • Morocco - 88 percent
  • Indonesia - 76 percent
  • Pakistan - 74 percent
  • Turkey - 60 percent

How can we expect the Muslim world, in particular, the Arab world, to live in peace with a country full of JEWS, no matter what Israel does?

By the 1980s, according to Bernard Lewis, the volume of antisemitic literature published in the Arab world, and the authority of its sponsors, seemed to suggest that classical antisemitism had become an essential part of Arab intellectual life, considerably more than in late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century France, and to a degree that has been compared to Nazi Germany. The rise of political Islam during the 1980s and afterwards provided a new mutation of Islamic antisemitism, giving the hatred of Jews a religious component.

The resurrection of the dead will not come until the Muslims will war with the Jews and the Muslims will kill them; ... the trees and rocks will say, "O Muslim, O Abdullah, here is a Jew behind me, come and kill him."2

And thou wilt find them [the Jews] the greediest of mankind....4 Because of the wrongdoing of the Jews.... And of their taking usury ... and of their devouring people's wealth by false pretenses. We have prepared for those of them who disbelieve a painful doom.8

Allah hath cursed them [the Jews] for their disbelief.9

http://www.eretzyisroel.org/~jkatz/koran.html

The Jews call Ezra a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth! (9:30) (See also Bukhari 8:427), one of the last things Muhammad ever said on his deathbed was "May Allah curse the Jews and Christians.”)

Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book [Christians and Jews] had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors. (3:110)

Verse 5:60 even says that Allah transformed Jews of the past into apes and pigs. This is echoed by verses 7:166 and 2:65.

A hadith (Bukhari 54:524) says that Muhammad believed rats to be "mutated Jews" (also confirmed by Sahih Muslim 7135 and 7136).

O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk. (5:51)

Yep, antisemitism is the root cause of this mess.  Just as racism is the root cause of bigotry towards Blacks in the US.  It's as old as mankind, unfortunately, and is one of the things we can't seem to cure.

Yes, but it's something that doesn't seem to be even a part of the ongoing narrative about how to bring peace to the dispute between Israel and the Arab world. The Left seems to think if the Israels would simply be nice all the violence would stop. I don't think so. It's like a small country full of black people in the midst of a huge mass of white supremacists. How friendly do you think relations are going to be?

I agree with the part I've bolded.   Even if Israel was *nicer*, everybody on the Arab side would have to be willing to reciprocate.   And even if the Arab side were nicer, every Israeli would have to reciprocate.  And, despite all the people on both sides who truly yearn for peace, who do reach out their hand to the other side, there are too many who will undermine any attempt at compromise and peace, on both sides of the conflict.

The water issues are going to get worse. Israel now gets 30% of their water through desalination.  To compare, California gets .05. The fight between muslims and Jews will also include water in the future.

Water is the PRIMARY issue. If it wasnt for reliance on water resources in the occupied territory Israel could have simply built their fence on the green line.

Again, the Arab-Israeli Conflict was NOT ignited over water. In 1948, the Mufti didn't look-out over the land and think: those darn Jews aren't sharing the water fairly.

Anti-Semitism is a fairly modern term...from Wilhelm Marr. A German. He didn't mean hatred of Arabs.

The term is a little older than that. Been around since at least the 1700s. Arabs and Jews are both semites.  It really means people who speak any of the semitic languages.

Thanks, Bryan, I didn't know that.

Also there is some DNA linkage.

Some recent genetic studies have found (by analysis of the DNA of Semitic-speaking peoples) that they have some common ancestry. Although no significant common mitochondrial results have been found, Y-chromosomal links between modern Semitic-speaking peoples of the Middle East like Arabs, Hebrews, Mandaeans, Samaritans and Assyrians have shown links, despite differences contributed from other groups

Antisemitism (also spelled anti-Semitism or anti-semitism) is hostility, prejudice, or discrimination against Jews.[1][2][3] A person who holds such positions is called an antisemite. Antisemitism is generally considered to be a form of racism.[4][5]

The root word Semite gives the false impression that antisemitism is directed against all Semitic people. However, the compound word antisemite was popularized in Germany in 1879[6] as a scientific-sounding term for Judenhass "Jew-hatred",[7][8][9][10][11] and that has been its common use since then.[12][13]

Want to know where most of Israel's population has roots?

Care to guess? Nahhh...you don't guess. You listen to Bryan.

It's not a false impression so much as it's a misnomer. I don't know if you noticed, but historically, the Germans may have gotten a few things wrong when it comes to racial relations.

Jew hate is ancient. The term Antisemitism was created by Wilhelm Marr in the 1870s to refer to Jew Hate.

Anything else is BS.
