sharkman Posted November 15, 2016 Report Posted November 15, 2016 (edited) Quote Right or left, most people only care about their own "side" and ignore a lot of the crap their own "side" does. All the garbage Harper did? The silence from the right on this board was deafening. So please spare us this nonsense, neither righties or lefties have any ethical high ground. My simple point is, if one is uncapable of criticizing the likes of Van Jones, and a crew of tax cheats, then one's opinions have little integrity, say what you want about Harper. I once again mention my observation that right-wingers seem to only care about gay rights when it presents the opportunity to slam Muslims... it looks like you're doing your level best to become Exhibit A on that front. Trump might genuinely have no issue with gay people. In fact I suspect he probably doesn't. On the other hand, he made America's biggest bigot Mike Pence his running-mate, and appointed a Family Research Council mook to chair his "domestic policy" team, so that's not very promising. Trump's latest opinion on the subject is that gay marriage is "a done deal", which I'm sure has Mike Pence shaking with rage. -k So Mike Pence will be attacking the gay community? They'd need it to enter the West Wing of the White House.....secretaries, cleaners and stewards get the same. 1 hour ago, Derek 2.0 said: What is dumb is someone thinking one can work inside the White House without a top secret security clearance...... There are three categories of security clearance for those working around the President. What is known as Yankee White clearance category 1 is the highest level, and that would be for the the top decision makers especially around matters concerning national security. Category 2 would be for the general staff, including support function like cooks and cleaners. Category 3 is for those that participate in events, like honour guards, etc. but not full time. I expect that Trump's children should as a minimum have Yankee White category 2, they are trusted advisors and will be likely be spending considerable time at the Whitehouse (non-escorted). I personally have no problem with them getting category 1 clearance, I think that really depends on what, if any, jobs they are assigned. The focus on top secret is meaningless, there are over a million Americans with that level of clearance. Much as I despise Donald Trump, to suggest that the Trump [adult] children should not receive top secret level clearance is ridiculous, assuming they pass the required vetting. What some people fail to realize, is that having an security clearance does not automatically give you access to all information. There is still the "need to know" requirement that must be passed for access to any specific piece of information, and that is up to the disclosure officer in the originating department. All classified information is compartmentalized, and just having a security clearance does not allow you unrestricted access. Your clearance is simply a indication to the disclosure officer that you have been properly vetted to a certain classification level. Edited November 15, 2016 by ?Impact Quote

His children won't get any of said clearances as they're not military personal, nor employed by the Pentagon...........They would receive a standard top secret clearance, just like all the other employees in the West Wing, conducted by the (new) NBIB.......anything beyond that, for both military and civilian workers, goes into the domain of compartmented clearance and special access programs, which includes everything form intelligence ways & means and of course the nukes.....and if cleaners, secretaries etc have to work in areas with such information (White House situation room, CIA, NSA, parts of the FBI, Pentagon etc), in which they could come in contact with it, they to have to have an equal or greater level of security clearance as the information they could be exposed to............ The only people with such access, minus a clearance, are elected officials (President, Vice President, Senators and Congressmen etc) or those that went through a conformation process (Cabinet, Supreme Court justices, heads of agencies etc). Besides, the estimate you refer to was based on his graduating Wharton school of business. Thing is he attended Fordham and transferred to Pennsylvania state. He was accepted at Wharton principally because the guy interviewing him was a friend of his brother, and he did not get an MBA, which is what Wharton is famous for.He didn't. He wasn't a noticeably good student, either.
