Comey said he would re-open the case if something significant and substantial came to light, then last Friday he did reopen the case.  My guess is that whatever they found was significant and substantial.  What that is, we don't know, but if the FBI is investigating Clinton on both her "Clinton Foundation" dealings as well as her actions as SOS, wouldn't you have to actually wonder what they could have on her?

They announced they had reopened the case because Anthony Weiner's laptop had email that had been sent through the Clinton server. Period. That's all. At the time that Comey made the announcement, they didn't even have a warrant to access the laptop. Attempting to argue that there must have been something significant found on the laptop is pure BS, because they didn't know what the contents of the laptop were when they made their announcement.

In a few weeks, they'll quietly announce that all they found on the laptop was more Weiner selfies and dick-pics and nothing to do with Hillary at all... and hopefully by that time American voters haven't made the biggest mistake in the 240 year existence of the republic.

Of course they had accessed the laptop, they accessed it because of Weiner.  What they found from Clinton (or Abedin) was clearly relevant enough to secure a warrant to investigate Clinton.  You don't think they never looked at Weiner's laptop before asking for (and getting) a warrant...do you?

That's what the 'fraidy cats said about George Bush in 2004...now they would miss Bush if Trump is elected.   Only Wikileaks knows for sure....

All they needed to secure a warrant was to show that the emails had been through Clinton's server.  All they needed to announce that they were reopening the investigation is to show that the emails had been through Clinton's server. The line that "They must have found something YUGE to make this announcement!" is something straight from The Donald's mouth. There's no objective evidence to support that conclusion.

And really, why would you, other than desperate hope, believe that after the amount of digging the FBI has already done on Hillary, think that a laptop belonging to Anthony Frickin Weiner would have anything to add to the picture?

They never had a case:

Quote

In February, FBI agents presented their findings to senior FBI officials and prosecutors in the Justice Department’s public integrity section, sources said. But the prosecutors and senior FBI officials agreed that there was no clear evidence of wrongdoing and that a criminal case tied to the Clinton Foundation could not be made, according to the sources.

“It was not impressive,” one source said of the February presentation. “It was not something that [prosecutors] felt they could authorize additional steps for. They were not impressed with the presentation or the evidence — if you could even call it evidence to that point.”

The FBI suppose to be non-partisan, but this is political.

Quote

The FBI Agents Association—a unionlike 13,000-member group—has close ties to Rudy Giuliani, a top Trump surrogate, and Giuliani has said on Fox News that he's in touch with current agents who are upset about Comey's decision not to prosecute Clinton. A former agent named Jim Kallstrom has appeared on Fox several times saying the same thing; Kallstrom's Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation has received funding from Trump and the Trump Foundation, and one of its directors is Rush Limbaugh.

Real political.

Quote

“The FBI is Trumpland,” said one current agent.

This atmosphere raises major questions about how Comey and the bureau he is slated to run for the next seven years can work with Clinton should she win the White House.

The currently serving FBI agent said Clinton is “the antichrist personified to a large swath of FBI personnel,” and that “the reason why they’re leaking is they’re pro-Trump.”

They don't actually have anything, but they've created the illusion that they've discovered a smoking gun, for at least until after the election.

All Wikileaks has for us so far is some slightly controversial remarks from John Podesta.

Compared to Donald Trump, George W. Bush is a monument of intellect and qualification. And your namesake is voting Hillary, BTW.

Dosen't matter.....Team Clinton is still in damage control mode.   Donald Trump is trusted more than Hillary Clinton.  If she hadn't illegally set up a server and destroyed forensic evidence, she wouldn't be in this mess.

A laptop from a guy who is also under criminal investigation, a guy whose wife is the closest person to Clinton, whom he shares a computer with!  Yeah, I think the FBI should be very interested in what emails are stored there.  Weiner may be a scumbag and a pedophile, but I think he is in self preservation mode and I think he likely kept the emails as an insurance policy.

And, I would suggest that its you Clinton people who are in panic mode.  Trump people are loving this.

I cited The Guardian and Slate.  I assume you're getting your info from Breitbart or The Donald himself-- both are one and the same, btw.

Regardless, it's a fact that the reopening of the investigation isn't evidence that they've uncovered anything of significance. The idea that maybe Anthony Weiner somehow had a smoking gun and hid it on his laptop "just in case" seems like pure fantasy.  The FBI has delved into this at length and couldn't build a case... but you think Anthony Weiner's laptop has the silver bullet? ok.   By the time we find out for sure, the election will be long over and both of us will be long past caring. But for the record, no. Fat chance.

A laptop from a guy that received emails, and stored them on his computer, from his wife?, even though he no longer held security clearance....I know both FOX and CBS are now reporting that their sources within the FBI are saying Weiner's computer is loaded with emails from the State Department......emails not found on the private server handed over by Clinton, as opposed to duplicates.

By the time we find out that the Weiner laptop hype was much ado about nothing, the election will be long over.

Do they name those sources? Tell me Derek, do you think this is appropriate behaviour from a police force?  Would you like your own police to operate this way?

On the contrary. It's the Trump supporters hoping that they've won the election before everybody finds out they've got no case.

I wouldn't consider a possible indictment nothing........It would make quite the picture though, Hillary been sworn in wearing cuffs, or kept in the White House under house arrest....that is if the polls are wrong, and Trump doesn't actually win.

Possible indictment. There is no such thing in law. There either is or there isn't.

You believe Trump is winning? None of the analysis I'm reading supports that conclusion, but I guess we'll see.

I'm surprised that a guy who loves America would prefer to see it in the hands of an incompetent buffoon rather than someone who is merely corrupt.

Of course not........as to their behavior, I have no problem with it, leaks are a fact of life, namely when its concerning a high profile person.

So you have no problem with your police officers anonymously leaking information about ongoing investigations. You realize that by compromising themselves in that way, police may make a conviction impossible.

What if it was a case that involved someone close to you. Still OK?

Tough to say.......he has momentum, will likely win all the Romney States, he's leading or tied in Ohio, North Carolina, Nevada and Florida, and needs a combination of New Hampshire, a split in Maine and one of Michigan or Wisconsin -or- steal away Pennsylvania......in which the difference for Hillary is literally several hundred thousands poor blacks in Philly that turned out for Obama twice, in a city that's police force is in lockstep with Trump.

That's subjective, Trump might be a buffoon, but he doesn't have two ongoing FBI investigations against him.......Trump, in my opinion, is the "safe harbor", granted at times its akin to Port Royal or Subic Bay, compared to a crooked and incompetent Clinton......

Ok, but how does incompetent and delusional factor into your calculations?

During the last debate Trump himself told you that his fiscal plans are based on the idea that the GDP is going to grow at 5% or more. Do you really trust a guy with a track record of running his own businesses into the ground and declaring bankruptcy to create 5%+ growth? Every economist says that Trump's ideas are disastrous for the national debt. Up until a couple of months ago Republicans hated debt, but now apparently they can't get enough of it. A few months ago "soft on Russia!" was a pejorative that Republicans liked to hurl at Obama, but now that Trump has come along, his Neville Chamberlain approach towards relations with Russia is a Good Thing.  Free Trade used to be in the Republican bible right next to Pro-Life and International Strength, but now protectionism is in the new Republican bible right next to Pro-Life and isolationism. What is it with you guys? What, aside from Pro-Life, does Trump have in common with anything that Republicans ever valued?

You said you're going "third party pizza" this election (Evan McMullin or Gary Johnson?) but whatever your personal choice you know that you're getting either Trump or Clinton. Are you sure you want to see your country in the hands of such an unmitigated disaster as Donald Trump?

I just think it's astounding to think that after all the work that the FBI has already  put into pursuing Hillary and couldn't build a case worth pursuing, it's extremely unlikely that a doofus like Weiner has any significant pieces left to add to the puzzle.

How about you? What do you imagine is going to be on this laptop that makes Hillary a worse choice than an utter disaster like Trump?
