BC_chick Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 Please point to the part where he used the word "weak". Smart people don't like Trump. But no, I'm not calling anyone dumb. Bonam Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 (edited) Which means he never said "weak"....thanks for confirming the obvious. Those who can handle it are "strong" and those who can't are.... also strong? I'm sure his campaign will say something along those lines, how all vets are heroes and whatnot to try to smooth things over for him like they have so many times before. bush_cheney2004 Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 Those who can handle it are "strong" and those who can't are.... also strong? Depends on the individual, irrespective of veterans. Some people get cancer...others don't. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Bonam Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 In any case though, don't count Trump out. Hes got where he is now by harnessing anti-government, and anti-immigrant sentiment in the US and those are very strong factors. He might be a complete moron, but he still has this a pretty close race. Oh I don't count him out. I expect the polls will be even tighter going into election day. Maybe I can put my Canadian citizenship to good use, what with all these cute American girls that want to run away to Canada if Trump becomes president... Quote

Some of you in this room I'm sure have fought off cancer, you're strong and you can handle it. Others though, they can't handle it.... they're #AlsoStrong. Quote

cybercoma Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 Unless of course he was committing tax fraud or otherwise doing illegal things, which is certainly possible, but I don't think that's been shown. He lost a billion dollars on casinos during an economic boom. Casinos....you know, those places designed to take people's money. If there isn't shenanigans afoot, he's an imbecile. Quote

Smoke Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 Except he has complained that 50% of Americans pay no taxes and how this is bad for the national debt. Of course, that 50% he was referring to is mostly poor people and that's precisely who he intended to criticize with those comments. Meanwhile, he wants to implement further tax cuts for the rich when elected. So it's not the tax minimization strategy in itself that is so offensive in this case. It's the blazing hypocrisy. Hahha a leftwinger calling a rightwinger a hypocrite! You can't make this up hahaha! Quote
Smoke Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 Exactly. He has every right to act like a 12-year-old because people who aren't running for president make fun of him! Yeah, people who aren't running for president but are a bunch of leftwingers acting like 12 year olds. SMH Quote
BubberMiley Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 (edited) Yeah, people who aren't running for president but are a bunch of leftwingers acting like 12 year olds. SMH Some may be acting like 12-year-olds but who told Trump it's a good idea to do the same? I know you appreciate it, but it doesn't seem to be helping his poll numbers (see my awesome new avatar?) In any case, I'm not sure what made you think I'm "left wing." ?Impact Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 I'm not sure what made you think I'm "left wing." It seems a subset of the population self identify as "right wing", therefore anyone who they disagree with must be "left wing". betsy Posted October 15, 2016 Report Posted October 15, 2016 (edited) On 10/3/2016 at 7:52 PM, Rue said: I have tried to give Donald Trump the benefit of the doubt in the past as I did Rob Ford but there is a point when you say enough is enough. Trump has said so many stupid things I've lost track of his bafoonery but the latest is inexcusable. He is reported on MSN quoting a Boston Globe & Mail artucle as having told a group of veterans on Monday night the following: ‘‘When you talk about the mental health problems, when people come back from war and combat, they see things that maybe a lot of the folks in this room have seen many times over. And you’re strong and you can handle it, but a lot of people can’t handle it,’’ Trump told an audience of military veterans at an event in Northern Virginia on Monday. ‘‘And they see horror stories, they see events that you couldn’t see in a movie - nobody would believe it.’’ Without a doubt its the most stupid and ignorant think I have read from a politician of all time. To say he is an offensive ignorant fool is an understatement. Not only is what he said nonsensical its past insulting. What kind of an idiot compares how one vet reacts to another and suggests they should all react the same way. It expresses a depth of ignorance seldom seen. It reminds me of the kind of ignorance Patton exhibited one time during WW2 bullying a soldier with shell shock. What's offensive about stating a fact? Let's read this again: ‘‘When you talk about the mental health problems, when people come back from war and combat, they see things that maybe a lot of the folks in this room have seen many times over. And you’re strong and you can handle it, but a lot of people can’t handle it,’’ Trump told an audience of military veterans at an event in Northern Virginia on Monday. ‘‘And they see horror stories, they see events that you couldn’t see in a movie - nobody would believe it.’’ Some people can handle horrific stuffs while some folks can't. Why aren't all soldiers suffering from PTSD? The numbers of soldiers going to war.....how come not even half of them are committing suicides, or suffering from PTSD? It's a fact: there are some people who are susceptible to PTSD! It's not an insult! How can you fix or improve something if you don't acknowledge facts? Perhaps they should screen soldiers and determine who are the most likely to suffer from PTSD, and maybe try not to send them to war zones! Edited October 15, 2016 by betsy Quote
BubberMiley Posted October 15, 2016 Report Posted October 15, 2016 I agree with Betsy. I think the draft-avoiding presidential candidate who claimed that not catching an STD was his "personal Vietnam" should be allowed to express his opinion that soldiers with PTSD are not "strong" like regular Trump supporters are "strong" and they just "can't handle it". The politically correct are just trying to shut him up! Quote "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet
