I suspect they are fearful of a nutbar at the helm. And it certainly affects Canadians in a really bad way if he were to become the POTUS.

But Trump hasn't even won the GOP nomination yet. It is fear of something that may happen, but does not even exist. Canadians have been affected (negatively) by President Obama too, but they don't "fear" him....quite the opposite. It is an irrational fear of something Canadians without U.S. citizenship have no control over. Why worry so much about it ? Fascinating to watch each U.S. election cycle here on MLW.

Hillary has a lifetime of achievements in supporting children, families and black families. She needs this positioning because of politics. Plain and simple.

Actually, the Clintons were part of massive 1990's welfare reform that reduced eligibility and lifetime welfare benefits to many "black" families.

Why do you try to stifle conversation on this forum when Canadians discuss American politics or anything having to do with Americans? I see this over and over again with you but you seem to be able to get away with it. It's bizarre to me why you are allowed to continue with these posts. Edited by WestCoastRunner

Can you provide cites so we can analyze them. I am a business analyst by trade so I love analysis!! Edited by WestCoastRunner

To keep this on topic for the 2016 primary election(s), here is a link to current criticism of Clintons for welfare reform and much higher incarceration rates.

Not stifling at all....just presenting evidence of the exact same "fear" that "Canadians" accuse the Trump/GOP voters of. They claim that Trump is winning because of fear of <insert in blank>. It's bizarre, but they do it each election cycle.

When was the last election cycle you guys had a horror show like Trump in the mix? Latest I hear is he wants to start punching people in the mouth who disagree with him. Luckily Trump likes Putin, because Putin would likely knock Trump's lights out in a fist fight.

Obviously my point is being ignored. You continuously attack/ridicule posters who dare to debate American touch points. You are supported by the mods here. You suppress posters that like to challenge American beliefs and the mods encourage your bs attacks

I won't argue this point.

In a country where millions upon millions of people are bitterly opposed to medical benefits?

I wouldn't put a lot of faith in the level-headed voter theory. I would however place all bets on Trump in the event of a galvanizing one.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

You may have a point there, but plenty of the Trump coverage has referred to his strategy as tapping into voter anger or stirring it up. To say it's all fear mongering is simply nonsense.

It's anger-mongering amongst a population exhausted with being fearful. It's hard too see where much good will come out of it.

Attacking American candidates, their party members/voters, and motives during this or any U.S. election season will be vigorously countered. Such nonsense from Americans would not be quietly accepted by Canadians during an election either.

And that's OK...this states' and territories' primary/caucus election season is for Americans to nominate party candidates. It seems to be working just fine without any approving nods required from Canada or any other nation. Trump has his votes and will get plenty more.

Be careful what you wish for.

I guess we will see if prayer actually works.... thousands upon thousands of terrorists (both foreign and domestic) praying for a Trump win!

What if the 'attacks' are not nonsense, but compelling observations?

I hope Trump wins... it would be hillarious.

I agree. Having a pro-choice liberal masquerading as a conservative would be fun.

Could set back the GOP by several years if not decades.

Thanks, that's an interesting read.

...so why DO black people think the Clintons are in their corner?

Well, if it turns out to be Clinton vs Trump, which is worse, someone with no political experience (Trump) or someone who has lots of experience but is very corrupt (CLINTON) Can Clinton elect her hubby as VP???

It's not just Canadians saying it. There's plenty of Americans who argue the same thing.

So we shouldn't analyze and critique American politics in the United States Politics forum? If you don't like it, then move along to a forum where only Americans discuss American politics.

Most intelligent Americans and Canadians have no difficulty in conversing civilly with each other. There is only one individual on this forum who has created an avatar which supposedly speaks for American points of view. He could be some high school dropout, living in his Mothers basement, somewhere in North Bay. Why anyone would assume that he speaks for Americans or reflects USA thinking or opinion is beyond me.

I doubt if any American citizen would so consistently try to irritate Canadian posters and cause them to have a low opinion of Americans.

Note - For those expecting a response from Big Guy: I generally do not read or respond to posts longer then 300 words nor to parsed comments.

Yeah, I got bad news for you. There are groups of people praying for each candidate to win.
