Given the demographic changes your country is undergoing there are bound to be a lot of people who will think it is broken and needs to be fixed.

Immigrants are just as likely to adopt the if it 'ain't broke don't fix it' mentality. Possibly because they have more important things to worry about.

Perhaps you're right. It's not important or urgent.

Besides, even though people in principle may oppose the present arrangement but money talks and making any changes would cost money which would be better spent on something else.

You better start paying attention to what many Canadian Trump supporters are saying. They can hardly wait for annexation.

They'll have to wait for a very long time.   The United States has far more important things to do than annex Canada.   Please continue to fight over regionalism, separatism, and language laws like always.   Far easier to just move to the USA like so many Canadians have done in the past.

Like  watch your kids  get massacred in school?. Or your militarized Police force killing unarmed people on a regular basis? ? Or better yet send your kids to schools with kids that may not  have healthcare. Isn't that right wing ideology? Sending a child to school with other children that may have an infectious deae and no healthcare?  Would you consider that A. Utter brilliance." or B" Child endangerment and negligence?

Hmm. We don't have a leg to stand on about schools. While in the US it may be other students, here it is systemic abuse by religion.

Canada rates in the top 3 countries for an educated citizenry, America doesn't make the top 10. And if you are speaking about the past you are right. Canada is trying very hard to make amends for past mistakes . Not so in America.  They accept no responsibility for their atrocities on natives or the blacks.

Yes...like all of those things, and many others that do not seem to discourage far more Canadians voting with their feet by moving to the United States.   Canadians go to the U.S. for greater opportunity, employment, education institutions, climate, leisure, family...even cheaper gas.

No need to annex Canada....Canadians consume all things American as a matter of routine, because Canada will be the same in 4 years.

Is that why immigration has been swamped  with inquires from Americans to immigrate to Canada?

Americans crashed Canadian immigration site with five times the usual number of visits on election night

And of course we have all heard about this tongue in cheek website set up by a DJ from Cape Breton that also crashed a number of times due to traffic. I understand he put the link to Canada Immigration on his site that began that crashing.

Indeed.....viewing Canadian web sites doesn't have nearly the impact of more Canadians physically voting with their feet, not their browsers.   More Canadians have and will continue to move to the United States no matter what happens over the next four years.

More Canadians have emigrated and reside in the USA than do Americans in Canada....but the U.S. has 10 times the population.

I predict that Canadians will do as they have always done.

We can deal with reality or we can deal with delusion. Fact. More people in your country and in the world despise your birther conspiracy freak, daughter diddler than like him. In the past before you went  down the road of insanity there was a good relationship. But times change. You made your decision to elect a fascist and now you have to suffer the consequences.

It is decreasing every year. In 1960, Canadians represented 10% of the foreign born population in the US, today it is only 2%. On the other side Americans represent over 3% of the foreign born population in Canada.

The past cannot be changed....more Canadians have voted for Trump's America...long before he becomes president.  The future will be the same, with many more Canadians taking advantage of more opportunities south of the border.   It has always been thus....

Fun with numbers cannot change the past, present, or future.  More Canadians will still go to the USA.

It's just what many Canadians do.....I predict this will continue.

Except you don't seem to actually have any numbers, only the same old rhetoric.

I predict that Canadians will continue to vote with their feet by going to the United States (with numbers):

Quote

According to a report by Statistics Canada about 167,300 Canadian residents moved to the U.S. between 2001 and 2006*. That’s about 33,000 per year. By comparison about 9,000 Americans move to Canada each year, and the U.S. has nine times as many people. (And, by the way, only about 1000 more Americans moved to Canada the year after George W. Bush was reelected.)

http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2012/06/28/americans_threaten_to_move_to_canada_do_canadians_ever_threaten_to_move_to_the_us_.html

I predict that many Canadians will seek the greater opportunities that exist in the U.S. compared to whatever may happen in Canada over the next four years.

We'll see how often the Immigration Canada website crashes now that Trump has been elected.

Such crashes are common in Canada...government projects to consolidate IT services have been a disaster.   I predict that in four years, this will not change much.   Maybe Canadian workers who still have not been paid by Phoenix will finally have things settled....maybe.
