Especially here in Canada. We have more socialist pot heads then the rest of the world. We even have one running for prime minister.

What's funny is, how they don't notice how brain dead they are .

You reckon pot smokers are brain dead do ya...

He doesn't know that more than half the trades industries that build and maintain this country including the majority of oil field and pipeline employees are full time pot smokers. I guess he thinks they're all brain dead.

Maybe that explains why the hippies don't want the pipelines to be built, they know their fellow pot smoking friends are to brain dead to build them right in the first place.

If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves. Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”

Well I can tell you from personal experience that a lot of the work done building the James Bay hydro project was done with a fair pall of illegal smiles after working hours. Apparently the dam thing got built.

We used to have highway 61, now we have bill c 51. Seems like we have gone a bit backwards.

I do, because I've worked in the construction industry. And yes it's a good reason why someone would oppose building a pipeline.

Brain dead , pot heads aren't very accountable.

We already import most of our food....... So you want to take up the little land we have to grow, to produce fuels, so that we have to polute even more to import even more food...... gawd!!!! Where do these people come from?!?!?

Canada is not Brazil. 99% of our land is not agricultural.

99%. No, not even if they destroy what is left of the Amazon rain forest.

When you compare it to Canada,in Brazil you can grow anything anywhere at anytime.

Sever thread drift, What's the topic?

Socialist party looking silly making idiotic statements in hope to gain political momentum.

Then all the socialist showed up and started making even more idiotic statements that had no direct link with the thread.

And then the conservatives showed up to laugh at the silly idiotic statements.

Then all the socialist realized how silly they looked and stopped posting.

That summarizes this threads progress.

My guess is this thread has run its course and is done.

It's basically the same thing then what is happening in question period in parliament.

I read a comment about this that states that;

The commercial could be in violation of the Geneva Conventions. The use of prisoners of war for (political) propaganda purposes is (internationally) outlawed.
Images of prisoners of war cannot be used in political ads to denounce opposing parties or to further political gain.

The conservatives could be in more hot water than they could have possibly thought. Even if nothing happens internationally, if of course this violates the Geneva Convention. Though I'm sure no international measures will be taken. If the Canadian public becomes aware of this, it could really hurt them. They seem to be doing damage to themselves. It's like they want Muclair to win.

Can anyone confirm if this violates the Geneva Convention? I've been looking but there's a lot to skim through.

Take a listen to the video of Tom Clark interview Kory T. about this video. At one point Clark ask Kory if the video isn't against the law of C-51 and Kory replied the news repeats it, which Clark says yeah but we're the news you're advertising, in which Kory says we're better because we tell the truth, then was asked to repeat what he said, Kory wouldn't. Kory has a BIG, no, a HUGE chip on his shoulder. http://globalnews.ca/news/2080288/full-interview-conservative-spokesman-defends-use-of-isis-video-in-attack-ad/

Now that's interesting. I did not know that. Do you know what part of the convention speaks to this specifically?

I've briefly looked through it but there's a lot of information to go through so I'm not even sure if it actually in there. I was hoping someone here might have a better idea on where to look and what part it may be in.

As much as I would like to nail Harper on pretty much anything, are ISIS prisoners even eligible for the label "prisoner of war" , given the declared illegitimacy of their "state" ?

Their state may not be recognized but they are without a doubt in a war with other factions in the region.

The definition of war; "a state of armed conflict between different nations or states or different groups within a nation or state." Would say that this is without a doubt, a war. Not sure how the international legal definition defines it but I would call any armed conflict between two separate factions a war.

What are they if they are not prisoners of war?

Do you think those ISIS prisoners are in the custody of the Conservative Party of Canada?

If not, then no, they are not in violation of the Geneva Convention, no more so then when the BBC, CBC, CNN etc replay said footage during their newscast........
