So what's the actual Holocaust survivors' excuse?

Normally believe it or not, even Jews who are critical of the occupation/conquest of arab lands are called "anti-semites". The term "self loathing jews" gets thrown around a lot. It doesnt matter who you are, or what you are, are where you are... If you critisize the actions of the Nation State of Israel, you will be immediately branded an anti-semite. Its on page one, of the junior Israel apologists handbook... and apparently thats the only page in it! :D

Jews should just move to Canada. Nobody trying to perpetually blow them up, and a lot of them do quite well economically. Maybe we could give them a very small Israel-sized chunk of BC off the coast in return for land tax payments.

If I were a Jew I don't think all the killing and suffering and hatred would be worth physically defending Israel. Even with a 2-state solution I can't see peace there any time soon.

The Holocaust survivors have seen enough death, religious hate and war in their time. Good for them for standing up for others, and what is right.

Son of Marcus, dub, bud, naomiglover and Hudson Jones? (similar post made in response to similar anti-Jewish post).

These "Holocaust survivors" are little better than deserters or traitors.

This is a long but very informed and detailed account of the mind bugling power of AIPAC over the US Congress and by extension White House--it reads with a very straight face about the wholesale purchase of two critical democratic institutions of a sovereign nation state by a foreign agent --a lobby that has successfully sold the colonial, military, and expansionist agenda of a foreign entity as the national interests of the US--the problem with this piece is that it is written in a moral and political and global cocoon --it has no moral backbone, nothing bothers it--nor does it have any sense of the national interests of a nation of more than 300 million human beings--the country in which this essay is written --and absolutely no consciousness of the global outrage against the criminal atrocities of the Jewish apartheid state--it is just about Israel and the occupied and stolen democratic institutions of the United States--not just the Palestinians but the whole world does not exist in this article --In fact the 300 million plus Americans don't exist, don't count, don't matter--you read it and your blood boils and you will lose hope that there is any iota of hope for the banality of this evil --this US-Israel nexus of catastrophe --will ever be dismantled--

In contrast, in Israel, many Israelis seem to become more and more racist.

No. This is not The Onion:

Israelis on Facebook wish death for Holocaust survivors against 'Protective Edge'

A few days ago some 300 Holocaust survivors placed an ad in the New York Times condemning the massacre in Gaza. My colleague from Local Call, John Brown, has selected a few of the responses on Facebook that Israelis posted in response to the ad.

I’ve translated a few from John’s selection:

David Cohen: Those aren’t Holocaust survivors those are probably collaborators with the Nazis.

Shmulik Halphon: He’s invited to go back to Auschwitz.

Itzik Levy: These are survivors who were Kapos. Leftist traitors. That’s why they live abroad and not in the Jewish State.

Vitali Guttman: Enough, they should die already. They survived the Holocaust only to do another Holocaust to Israel in global public opinion?

Meir Dahan: Now wonder that Hitler murdered 6 million Jews because of people like you you’re not even Jews you’re disgusting people a disgrace to humanity and so are your offspring you are trash.

Asher Solomon: It’s a shame Hitler didn’t finish the job.

Katy Morali: Holocaust survivors who think like this are invited to go die in the gas chambers.

The actual use of quoting anti holocaust survivors first was used in 2011 in a cross the US 122 campus university tour. The exercize of Nazi inversion, i.e., turning Jews into Nazis, was in fact first scripted by the KGB to update old propaganda scripts written by the Nazis who had moved to Damascus and ran its government including its Ministry of Communication.

The execise is interesting because the same anti-semites who deny the holocaust have taken to now acknowledging it at the same time. They will on extremist anti-Semite sites across the Middle East to a Muslim audience or facist right wing audience deny the holocaust but at the same time admit the holocaust happened to a limited extent to acknowledge there are holocaust survivors but the acknowledgement will only be towards those holocaust survivors who make anti Israel statements, no other acknowledgment.

The same use of holocaust suvivors to denigrate Israel would never be used to point out the holocaust created refugees who had to flee to Israel and that Israel has the highest holocaust refugee population in the world precisely because no one wanted them.

The same extremists on this board will argue the holocaust never happened and was in fact a myth created by Nazis and Jews working together never mind the fact that the original anti Israel movements were all openly pro Nazi and started by the Nazis who took over Iraq, Egypt and Syria during and after WW2.

Oh who cares. The holocaust never happened, no wait it did but it was a fake Zionist trick, no wait its a European problem, no wait the people who fleed the holocaust were colonial imperialists no wait they are ok if they are not Zionist but only then.

This is nothing more than the exploitation of the holocaust. It is the act of trivializing and misappropriating what the holocaust did.

I am asked for a citation as to what these people's beliefs are? Why?. Why did the person not asking check for himself? Why is he asking me.What should I fetch Bwana another ice tulip. What I work for this person and now must spoon feed him when he debases holocaust survivors?

What I must proof to him the ad he has jumped on was funded by an anti Zionist organization?

What I must explain to him there were in fact only 40 holocaust signatories to this letter and the rest claim to be siblings of the holocaust survivor and are all anti Zionist? I have to prove that? Why? Why hasn't he gone and followed through for himself to see where the letter originated from or the fact this exercise is a repeat of one being used by Hamas and other extremist Muslim groups since 2008.

Where was this person when Iran ran a holocaust did not happen seminar and some of these same signatories were there on hand supporting Iran?

Where was he?

Where is he now discussing the vast majority of holocaust survivors who had no choice but to flee to Israel because the world turned its back on us.

What next do I need to provide a citation that the holocaust existed.

The point is not all Jews and not all holocaust survivors are pro Israel. We openly debate and have many opinions not just outside Israel but in Israel.

The fact that a Jew is anti Israel or a holocaust survivor and anti Israel does not automatically mean they have more credibility as is being played out-certainly not by the same pro Muslim terrorists exploiting their opinion when its useful but at the same time calling for a holy war to rid the world of JEWS.

This post is a classic example of holocaust and Nazi inversion. The intent is to focus the attention away from Hamas and challenge the right of Jews to exist as a collective state by claiming Jews who survived the holocaust should not have wanted a state and that a "good Jew" speaks badly about his fellow Jews who want to live in a state.

Its nothing more than a pale exercise of saying a good Jew is a Jew that feeds back what the thread starter wants them to feed back.A good Jew knows his place and that is stateless.

Holocaust survivors can have a common psychological phenomena.

Some of them have never healed. They believe had they kept quit and kept their Jewish identity secret or quiet they would have never been singled out.

It continues. Any suggestion there identity is now out in the open and expressed through a state petrifies them that they will be attacked. So much so that they will adapt a maladaptive script that has them believe if they denounce their collective identity they will be liked and accepted.

All minority groups have people like this who maladapt to their own identities. They truly believe if they ridicule their identities the people they ridicule themselves to will accept them.

I accept that from traumatized minorities. I accept that they get manipulated by the very people they think are accepting them because of their self denouncement. Its an understandable psychological phenomena.

But guess what. The pathetic attempt to exploit these people by Jew haters is as transparent as it gets and its a message of Jew hating. Its a message not just to Israelis but all Jews that they should know their place-the place of being stateless. It has nothing to do with Israel and everything to do with telling all Jews not just Israeli Jews, where there place is.

why? You made the statement that holocaust survivor signatories to the letter, as you said, "are in fact against the state of Israel's existence"... you were simply asked to substantiate that statement... standard procedure. As I interpret, the letter and the ad are 2 distinct entities.

the letter is claimed to be partially in response to an ad campaign that appeared in prominent world-wide newspapers; one that compares the murder of children during the Holocaust to Hamas’ actions in Gaza... the letter in it's entirety:

As Jewish survivors and descendants of survivors and victims of the Nazi genocide we unequivocally condemn the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza and the ongoing occupation and colonization of historic Palestine. We further condemn the United States for providing Israel with the funding to carry out the attack, and Western states more generally for using their diplomatic muscle to protect Israel from condemnation. Genocide begins with the silence of the world.

We are alarmed by the extreme, racist dehumanization of Palestinians in Israeli society, which has reached a fever-pitch. In Israel, politicians and pundits in The Times of Israel and The Jerusalem Post have called openly for genocide of Palestinians and right-wing Israelis are adopting Neo-Nazi insignia.

Furthermore, we are disgusted and outraged by Elie Wiesel’s abuse of our history in these pages to justify the unjustifiable: Israel’s wholesale effort to destroy Gaza and the murder of more than 2,000 Palestinians, including many hundreds of children. Nothing can justify bombing UN shelters, homes, hospitals and universities. Nothing can justify depriving people of electricity and water.

We must raise our collective voices and use our collective power to bring about an end to all forms of racism, including the ongoing genocide of Palestinian people. We call for an immediate end to the siege against and blockade of Gaza. We call for the full economic, cultural and academic boycott of Israel. “Never again” must mean NEVER AGAIN FOR ANYONE!

Stop being anal - you know very well what Rue is saying - as I already did. The original "press release" is from an anti-zionist organization - so its motives are obvious. Whover signed the letter had to be aware of that - so they by default are anti-Zionist. The Holocaust and the State of Israel are inextricably entwined.....stop trying to be the smartest man/woman in the room - clearly it's failing.

Because I am sensitive to some of the knee-jerk assumptions that are made when there is any reference to Israel I am careful to refer to the citizens of Israel as Israelis. While about 75% of these citizens are of the Hebrew faith the other 25% are not. The government of Israel is elected by all of the citizens. If/when I criticize government policy or the results of government policy I make sure to refer to Israel and Israelis.

Perhaps one has to separate the criticism of the predominant religion from the criticism of the different governments that have molded what Israel represents to-day.

I will this time provide the citation but never again. If you are too lazy to look up the people you are supporting to find out who they are its your problem not mine.

http://www.nion.ca/nion-statement-en.htm

"Not in Our Name (NION):
Jewish voices opposing Zionism

Our basic principles are:

4. Judaism is not Zionism.

We understand that Judaism, a religion and/or cultural identity, is not the same as Zionism. Zionism stands for an exclusive Jewish nation-state. Jews – like Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, or those who adhere to any faith – are in no way a single, homogenous population. There are no grounds to assume that all Jews share a single view towards the state of Israel. A number of high profile, well-financed Zionist organizations – including B’Nai Brith, the Canadian Jewish Congress, the Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee, the Canada-Israel Committee, and the Friends of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre – claim to represent the Jewish community in Canada. They do not. What they share is a Zionist political stance, an unconditional defense of the policies of the state of Israel. These organizations speak and act for themselves alone, and not in our name."

This is why I responded to Blubber Miley as I did. These alleged holocaust survivors in fact number 40. The rest claim to be children of holocaust survivors.

Now you do me a favour and go look at what percentage that is of the remaining holocaust survivors and their relatives. Go on. Go tell me what percentage they form or do I have to do that as well.

Let's spell it out. These holocaust survivors are exploiting their status as holocaust survivors to allow themselves to be part of the propaganda exercise known as holocaust inversion.

You want the cite for holocaust inversion here:

http://jcpa.org/article/holocaust-inversion-the-portraying-of-israel-and-jews-as-nazis/

Here you want to know what it is, because presumably you need me to spoon feed you, here you go all cited frtom the above"

"The false accusation of Holocaust inversion-the portraying of Israel, Israelis, and Jews as Nazis-is a major distortion of history. This anti-Semitic concept claims that Israel behaves against the Palestinians as Germany did to the Jews in World War II. “The victims have become perpetrators,” is one major slogan of the inverters. By shifting the moral responsibility for genocide, Holocaust inversion also contains elements of Holocaust denial. ..

The motivations of the Holocaust inverters are manifold. Some aim at the destruction of Israel and seek to lay the infrastructure for its moral delegitimization through demonization. Some are extreme pro-Arabs, others anti-Semites. Yet others know little about the Holocaust, the Nazis, and contemporary Israel. For Europeans it is also an effective way to cover up for Holocaust crimes of their countries and expunge guilt by claiming that what was done by the Nazi perpetrators and their many collaborators is a common phenomenon and by now is practiced by Israelis and Jews.

In recent years the attempts to manipulate the history and memory of the Holocaust have greatly increased. For several decades there has been much focus on Holocaust denial. Misrepresentations regarding the Holocaust, however, involve many other aspects as well. The number of these false mutations of Holocaust history is expanding. Related to these is the promotion of a second Holocaust through the destruction of Israel. Mutations include Holocaust universalization and banalization, that is, comparing real or supposed misbehavior in contemporary society to what happened in the Holocaust.

Holocaust inverters come from many circles. A large number are Arabs or other Muslims. Many others come from the extreme Left in the West. A variety of Western mainstream public figures have made Holocaust-inversion statements, including politicians, academics, authors, as well as the occasional Jew or Israeli. (note: and I add to this quote the group of holocaust survivors referred to on this thread)

French linguist Georges-Elia Sarfati points out that the term anti-Zionism was pioneered by the Soviet Union’s Information Ministry after the Six Day War. Researching the matter, he found that the word did not appear in dictionaries until the 1970s. He observes that “a number of key equations dominate the anti-Zionist discourse. The master one-which transversally commands all others-is ‘Zionism equals Nazism.’… the anti-Zionist propaganda conveys that you have only to be against, for instance against Nazism-and who is not?-to be an anti-Zionist."

Historian Joel Fishman asserts that “inversion of reality” constitutes the basic principle of current anti-Israeli propaganda, noting: One of its most frequent expressions has been the accusation that the Jewish people, victims of the Nazis, have now become the new Nazis, aggressors and oppressors of the Palestinian Arabs. Contemporary observers have identified this method and described it as an “inversion of reality,” an “intellectual confidence trick,” “reversing moral responsibility,” or “twisted logic.” Because Israel’s enemies have, for nearly half a century, repeated such libels without being challenged, they have gradually gained credence."

So Waldo you want more citations?

No one is quoting anti-holocaust survivors.

That is exactly who is being used. A group of people who use their holocaust survivor status to belittle the holocaust survivors who fled to Israel and use their status to deny the right of Jews to a collective state.

They are using the holocaust against their very own people's right to exist as a collective-that is as anti holocaust as it gets. The very lesson of the holocaust taught Jews we must never again place ourselves in a position of being stateless if we are to survive as a people.

At the pith and substance of Zionism is that as a collective, we have a better chance of survival then as individuals.

These holocaust survivors deny the holocaust as having come about because of Jews being stateless.

You have zero clue what the holocaust is, what a Jew is, and why a person surviving the holocaust using his or her status to deny the right of Israel to exist is not just lacking in credibility but self destructive and a form of self denial.

What you think you understand is a formula that makes it simple for you to deny Jews as a collective should exist and that a good Jew is only a Jew who thinks he is not entitled to universal sufferage.

I get it. You don't. You want to come on this board and use Israel as a pretext to engage in holocaust inversion, yah I get it, and I challenge it and have exposed it.

Anything else?

At the pith and substance of understanding why certain Jews and in particular even holocaust surviving Jews would express anti Zionist opinions is a behavioural phenomena known in all minority groups. Its called self hatred and I would argue it fuels the Not in Our Name Group and Jewish anti-semites such as Norm Finklestein.

As he stated, the term self-hating Jew was first used to describe Jews who were ashamed of or who hid their heritage.

Anyone from a minority group whether they be Jewish, Ukrainian, Irish, Black, Gay, what-ever, we all know such people in our groups.

A lot of comedians manifest this behaviour in their jokes about themselves. Jackie Mason, Richard Pryor, for example were criticized for being too self hating.

After the creation fo Israel and the practice of holocaust inversion pushed byt he KGB after the 1967 war, criticism of Israeli policy toward Palestinians morphed with the self-hating Jew phenomena.

Let's be clear not all Jews who criticize Israeli state policies are self hating Jews. That would be impossible. Every single Israeli jew to start with criticizes Israeli state policies. It is in the very pith and substance of Jewish thought as explained in the Talmud that any Jewish thought or concept must be questioned and criticized. There can be no absolute concepts in Judaism. Everything is subject to debate and therefore change in meaning.

I like many Jews in the diaspora or Israelis are Jewish critics. We question the definition of being Jewish. We question our religious doctrine, Jewish laws, Jewish traditions and we most certainly question policies that relegate Palestinians to lives of second-class citizenship.

I would argue the difference betwen Jewish people who are genuine critics of Israeli state poliocy and self hating Jews, is that the former have no desire to harm the state of Israel, the latter do. I would argue a self-hating Jew does not distinguish their criticism of Israeli state policies from Jews as a people. At the pith and substance of the self-hating Jew's arguement is a rejection of his or her Jewish identity.

Certain Jews have I would argue maladapted. They have come to believe if they deny their identity-they will not be attacked and hated.

For certain holocaust survivors, it was and still is a common psychiatric phenomena to hide from themselves. They associate anything identifiably Jewish flowing from them as the badge they had to wear. If its stripped off, they can become invisible and no longer attacked.

Thus key to the arguements of the self hating Jew is the need to eradicate any sign of Jewishness and the most visible symbol of Judaism is Zionism-the very notion that Jews are not just an individual identity but a collective one.

One on one, the self hating Jew can change his name, make comments that insult his Jewishness and culture, deny any Jewish traits, but as a collective-well its hard to deny a state. Its just too big to hide, so it has to be challenged...its very right to exist has to be challenged.

All minority groups have self haters. We all know minorities who put down their own minority group. Its the first thing new Canadians do. They think if they put others who look like them down, it focuses attention away from their own cultural origin. The reasoning is simple. If I hate others like me, then I am just like you the person I perceive to hate others like me.

Oh I have seen it. I have seen Jews, blacks, women, gays, people of all groups, insult themselves and their origins thinking it will get them accepted.

In the dialogue of Israel and Zionism these self hating Jews don't just question specific Israel state policies, they question the very method in which the Jews of Israel or Zionists care to define ourselves.

This is precisely why on this thread, Waldo tried to play with me or Blubber Miley is asking really...are these people really anti Israel or just fair minded people criticizing Israeli actions in Gaza.

No the comments of these people have continued since 2006. They are not limited to criticizing IDF responses in Gaza, they go the next step and question the right of all Jews to be a collective and express ourselves collectively.

They try expropriate our identity in the name of the holocaust to say since they survived the holocaust they have the moral right to deny being a collective identity and they can impose their denial on me.

People like Finklestein and Chomsky have been found and used by anti-semites for years. Nothing fuels a holocaust denier and anti-semite more than finding a Jew willing to echo their hatred.

In a sense a self hating Jew is a far more dangerous anti-semite than a non Jewish one. They are more dangerous in that they allow anti-semites to hide behind them and argue, but if Jews hate themselves and think they are not worthy or deserving of a state-they are "good" Jews.

Black people know this phenomena. They used to call such people step n fetch its and Uncle Toms. We Jews at one point called self hating Jews Uncle Jacobs.

I would conclude by explaining this. Yesterday in Missouri at the funeral of the young black man shot by the police, I was shocked. There was Reverend Al Sharpton a man known to incite race hatred. He stood up and he chastized the audience saying blacks were their own worst enemy. It didn't make him a self hater. In fact he did something moral. He criticized the black on black violence. He was not afraid to stand up and admit the failures of black people but he did so in a way that did not put black people down, justc challenge them to be better.

I saw a side of him I never saw. We Jews need no lesson from gentiles on how to criticize ourselves. Our Talmud is a guide on how to doubt and question everything and constantly challenge ourselves. Our literature, our humour, our art, the drive to create a state from the ashes of dhimmitude and the holocaust, all come from self criticism.

There is a difference though in criticizing constructively and self hating.

A self hating Jew puts down Jews with hateful comments. The comments accuse us of being Nazis because we choose a state.

I reject this self hatred. Someone like JBG and I are actually quite different in our thoughts and beliefs as Jews but one thing neither of us will do is deny who we are. We do not deny our identity and question our right to exist as equals in statehood to other peoples.

Why would we? We do not hate ourselves. We are not ashamed of ourselves. We sure as hell will criticize each other's ideas on Israel but we do not deny our identity and right to have that identity.

I know many gentiles on this forum get what I said. I read their posts. They talk of Jews they way I would of Christians or Muslims-as people who have a right to exist as equals, not superior, not inferior, just the same.

Our belief in Israel does not mean we think we are better than anyone or hate anyone, it just means we think we have the same rights as others.

Ask yourselves. Why is it we Jews do not hide our identities on this forum-but when was the last time you heard a forum member state they were Muslim when they support Hamas.

Monty? Jim Brown? Hudson Jones? etc. etc. You think anyone who comes on this board supporting Hamas will admit to being a Muslim?

Why is that? I will tell you why. They are self hating.

Self hating people talk about what should not be, not what should be.

Self hating people presume to tell others what's wrong, never what is right.

What is right? The ability for anyone to come on this forum and say, I am not ashamed to be who I am and defend myself from extinction and terrorism.

Its simple. The dialogue is simple. Any Muslim who says to me, you are my equal, not a khafir/dhimmi, you have a right to a Jewish state as I do a Sharia Law state, I can make peace with. Push a double standard I do not give a damn who you are, I will shove it back in your face, precisely because I am not a self hater. I am not ashamed of who I am.

if you do not want to recognize me, I sure as hell do not need your acceptance only if I deny who I am.

Don't come on this board and attempt to tell me what a good Jew is and throw out self hating Jews as the model for we Jews to follow.

Save your patronizing and bigoted assumptions you can even define what an acceptable Jew is.
