ReeferMadness Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 As we all know there was conflict between the south and north in America that caused The Civil War. 150 years later many people across America still fly the Confederate flag today. The topic here is it racist to fly the flag? It depends on who you ask. Symbolism exists within the mind of the beholder. I think a lot of people consider it racist because the group who rallied around it went to war to keep the right to subjugate black people into slavery solely on the basis of their race. I can understand how some might consider that racist. However, other people might associate other things with the confederate flag. Wilber Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 I like '69 Chargers... I prefer a '69 1/2 Charger Daytona with a 426 Hemi... The winged cars were pretty wild but I kind of like the 70 AAR Cuda's and Challenger TA's. Wife's favorite is a 61 300G convertible but they are all out of our price range so will have to put up with our 66. Quote "Never trust a man who has not a single redeeming vice". WSC
bleeding heart Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 (edited) Yep...those "dumb southerners" are so smart! Well, a grammatically-sensible sentence that has never been uttered before by anyone! It appears that Chomsky's linguistic theories are correct. On every other file we were offside. Eventually we came onside on Haiti, so we got another arrow in our quiver." --Bill Graham, Former Canadian Foreign Minister, 2007
