It's not written anywhere that the Queen or GG is the head of state, so it's debatable (some scholars say yes, some no) if the GG could be called that. Though the GG performs virtually all roles that the head of state does and is treated as such. Don’t hold your breath………The NDP and Liberals probably haven’t received the polling numbers yet on how popular supplying arms or troops to Syria would be amongst Canadians………Do they side with the Government on a important issue, or promote supplying arms to terrorists groups and/or sending Canadian troops “over there”…..

Several days ago (Monday?), well watching Power and Politics, Ian Capstick (NDP supporter/talking head) spoke of Syria and the phrase “Just War”, in that the West intervening would be “justifiable”…….

Would the NDP/Liberals still feel justified once/if a Canadian Hornet was shot down by a Syrian, Russian made, SA-10 (roughly equivalent to the first flight of American Patriot missiles in the 80s), well enforcing a “justifiable” no-fly-zone? Or sending ill-equipped Canadian soldiers into an environment roughly equivalent to Iraq or Afghanistan, but with the added danger of the possibility of fighting in a environment saturated with Chemical weapons?

I think the Liberals and NDP’s lack of stated stance is telling, telling Canadians that they too side with Prime Minister Harper and that he’s made the correct call on Syria…….They just don’t want to give him credit publicly.

Hey sometimes I feel ashamed as well if I didn't study hard enough and get some questions wrong. That's an easy problem to solve - do some research and correctly identify our head and state, and you won't feel so ashamed next time.

That funny part about this is, if Harper signed on for that particular clause, the very same people would be crying foul about him selling out our sovereignty, moving towards the one-world-government, crying about Bilderberg, etc, etc.

Pretty good summation except for my disagreement, as noted above, on Quebec Referendum. And one quibble. Mulroney gave you the GST. Chretien lied about replacing it or ending it.
