Days of Riots in Stockholm

Recommended Posts

Sweden has had problems for a long time but not much in the MSM media about it, but saw this on the BBC. Not much said about who or why.

Police arrested eight people on Tuesday night as thirty cars were torched across southern and western Stockholm, in what was the third consecutive night of unrest in the Swedish capital.

Rioters lit fires in cars in western and southern Stockholm, and threw stones at police officers and fire fighters. Cars were torched in Rinkeby, Skarpnäck, Norsborg, Kista, Fittja, Bredäng, Flemingsberg, Edsberg, and Tensta.

"These are places that have not been affected by this before and this is sad to hear. It feels like people are taking the opportunity in other areas because of the attention given to Husby," Kjell Lindgren of the Stockholm police told the Aftonbladet newspaper.

The riots in one of Europe's richest capitals have shocked a country that prides itself on a reputation for social justice, and fuelled a debate about how Sweden is coping with both youth unemployment and an influx of immigrants.

Sweden is apparently having problems coping. It's pretty easy to have a happy, violent-free country with a small population when things are going well and there's nothing like unemployment or "an influx of immigrants" to deal with. It's one of the reasons I take it with a grain of salt when such countries are compared to the United States. Simply taking stats and making them "per capita" means very little. This is a country with a total population of about half of the greater NYC area, and these riots are apparently out of control. That they seem to be the result of the police shooting a man wielding a machete - which is being seen as police brutality - makes one wonder about the mindset of the instigators. It also makes one wonder what Sweden is in for in the future.

Not to mention if everyone is allowed to be armed....oh wait.

How can that be, when we have been assured by some members here that Scandinavian nations are OECD paradises ?

Compared to the US they are. But yes, letting in scads of illiterate third world goat herders is going to cause trouble, and has caused trouble everywhere liberals have gotten in power and started bringing them over.

The illiterate goat herders are coming here to have a good life, since western entities have been making their life hell for a long time.

We can stop waring, start really rebuilding and have a good place to live for everyone.

Money, greed and the desire to have power over others is what is preventing this from happening.

Sure let's take it a step farther. The Middle East has had imperialistic countries tell them what to do for over a century and its now being used as a proxy ground for the East and the West. Russia and other countries that are traditionally on the opposite side of the west are having some of the same problems with immigration of people from these areas.

They don't hate us for our freedoms, they hate us because we have taken theirs away.

I'm rather pessimistic about the future. There is bound to be a lot of conflicts in various European countries, I wouldn't call them civil-wars, that would be exaggarating, but al this multi-culti experiment is really not going to end well.

Even if all third world-immigration was halted today the number of people from the third world and their descendants would still grow faster than that of the indigenous population. When a very large proportion of the third world-immigration is from muslim-countries by people who have no desire to assimilate and people whose employment-prospects are not very good at all, it inevitably leads to further segregation and to a situation which is already reality in the major cities in Europe where there are de facto mini-societies within the cities where the official authorities have no say whatsoever.

Nonsense. They make their own lives hell. You are simply apologizing for them because they're brown people.

They don't hate us for our freedoms, they hate us because we have taken theirs away.

No, they hate us because the very concept of freedom appalls them, and they hate anyone who refuses to 'submit' to Allah and worship Allah in exactly, precisely the same way as them.

Pam Gellar called. She said she wants her quotes back.

As in any country that is socialist there is generally not enough for the people to do and not much to lose, making rioting and pillaging the preferred past time. Even if cable is subsidized it doesn't have the content to hold their interest.

Multiculturalism is a big failure.

Who's Pam Gellar?

It's must be true what She and Argus say though, as most of their explosives and brainwashed are directed at different versions of their own religion, and people who have never colonised them, invaded them or even dropped a drone on them.

They kill them because they believe something slightly different from them. Wow, eh?

I'll look up Pam. She sounds like a winner.

Yes, they prefer to live without electricity, running water and especially an education, so as soon as the west understands that instead of trying to foist these sorts of things off on them and perverting their culture then we will have to face the consequences of our actions.

Before Libya was brought some freedom (as a recent example) they had running water, electricity, state paid education including university and state paid health care and oil profits spent in the country to improve the infrastructure and building what has been said to be a modern world wonder which is the aquifer. They were also said to be the new jewel of Africa .. screw that, they need some freedom.

Didn't they do that themselves? They had some help, what with the no fly zones and all that, but wasn't it their choice to oust Gadaffi?

I mean, when they found him, they didn't exactly carry him back to his palace on their shoulders.

It was on BBC world news today, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-22622909 and the Guardian speak to a 'conspiracy of silence' .... It sure looks like it here, I don't see much in our papers.

I guess socialism isn't the cure for all ills.

Socialism doesn't work real well when it sucks in people with no work ethic. "From each according to their abilities" implies an ability and a willingness to contribute. "To each according to their needs" can fuel some very expansive needs; and reproductive habits.

The people that killed Gaddafi were part of the rebels. And we know that they were western backed. Also British SAS were caught in Libya leading up to the conflict. They were there to make contact with the rebels, carrying fake passports, weapons, explosives and money.

And when you understand the Gold Dinar and trading oil, you might really get to understand why they needed some freedom dropped on them.

How did they get the Tunisians and the Algerians to start it for them?

The riots are spreading, if you can get BBC world news they have been showing it. These countries need to get a grip somehow on this, France is still experiencing problems.

and in Holland problems are ongoing, similar to other Euro countries.

BBC have it too.

The real problem for Swedes is their society was built on the idea that people would, for the most part, honestly seek work. It has functioned well for some time, but the immigrant Muslims are apparently quite happy to get paid to do nothing, and their participation in the work force is quite a bit lower while their use of social services is quite a bit higher.

So you're saying brutal dictatorships are the way things should be in the middle east, and the West should stop interfering with that? I'm confused, I thought you were angry the west supported brutal dictatorships...
