Just posting the links related to many people assuming this crime was done by an midle eastern islamic terrorist.

And how the person in the first pic.,who was cleared is now fearing for his and his families lives.

Sounds like a lawsuit brewing.

I predict a large seven digit out of court quick settlement.

I think that this incident shows us the benefits of having lots of cameras in public places. CCTV anyone ?

I'm in favour, and this incident just further validates my position.

I am not in favour of more CCTV.Obviously there was enough CCTV cameras in the area and from cell phones to catch these guys. If they are in fact the real suspects.

So, you're not in favour of more because we have enough private cameras now ? I don't agree. I don't think that private concerns should be depended on to help the public good in this example.

I am not in favour of more cameras, plain and simple. Just look at the amount of photos and video already available. Each store has their surveillance cameras on and many had their camera phones. But all that did not seem to be any good since they got the wrong suspects at the start. That's a failure on the police, in which more CCTV cannot correct.

All the stores in the area, the security camera footage would have been acquired via some law and court order.

It was live on TV with multiple news stations covering it at the same time, There were riot cops, Navy Seals, Craft security, bomb squads at this high profile event and STILL they could not get the bombers right away? Is that incompetence? Not to mention they blundered who the bombers were at the start.

I don't think that private concerns should be depended on to help the public good in this example.

They already depend the private businesses to hand over the security footage. IN this case, being of a national emergency of sorts makes it easier to obtain that kind of stuff. The police were asking the public to come forward with any evidence they may have.

There is even a law in place to grab all the data off your phone in crisis like this, so the police already have an overload of information.

*cough*

I don't think the police got the wrong suspects - but the mob did. And this means it's not *any* good ???

As for the rest of your post - if the bombers hadn't been so stupid as to make their involvement so public, snuck through back alleys, used disguises, worked at night. We could well have nothing.

I think you're invoking your bias against big brother, new world order etc here - clearly private cameras capturing public events worked, and police cameras would be even better in that you would get more coverage, and instant retrieval without the bother of a court order in the vital early minutes of an investigation.

I hope that people realize the benefits of this technology as a result of this case.

No the police were putting that forth at the start then said they had nothing.

If these were the correct guys then they were sloppy as hell and should have been discovered before hand. But you had huge police presence, Navy Seals and Craft security and bomb squads working the area, and the completely missed this?? In spite of all that heightened security something like this still goes off?

So you are telling me that the huge police/special forces presence at the marathon failed and this is a justification for more cameras?

I hope that people realize the benefits of this technology as a result of this case.

I hope some understand the societal implications of treating everyone list a suspect. You'd be best to turn those CCTV cameras in on the governments, they need to be kept in check more than the public. But in each case the public suffers.

Releasing those first pictures, yes the police where pointing the finger at the wrong people, plain and simple.

The police even admitted such when they cleared him.

Furthermore the police,in so doing, fueled the "mob"

But having said that,I don't see many alternatives and a large payout to avoid a lawsuit from the first suspects(now victims) would be in order.

For what possible reason could they #1 file suit , and #2 win anything?

The police never identified them - or released the pics - as such. That was people on the internet/the New York Post.

Yes I went back and read one of the links and it must appologize.

It was reported by a couple of papers and reported in one of the papers that the poloce said they were suspects.

But the police after said that this was not the case and another two were the actual suspects.

I probably got a little confused here and hopefully I cleared it up

Sorry there was a little confusion as to who said what.

However the newspapersin question and those posting pics on the web and making claim will be responsible for their actions.

I'm sure a compensation package is already being discussed among the affiliated lawyers.

Here we go. Someone ready to blame Vladimir Putin. Uh yah.

I cant get my head around as to how is it possible to interpret my post that I would have been blaming Vladimir Putin for the Boston-bombs.

Coming from the UK I'm used to the proliferation of CCTV cameras in recent years. I have to admit, they don't bother me at all.

I think it is rather amazing that out of a crowd of thousands of people at the marathon that in less than 80 hours they

were able to determine who the perpetrators were. Great job! One dead. One to go and justice is served.

In all actuality, it would be better to get the younger brother alive and thoroughly interrogate to see if him and his brother had further aide from outside sources……..Now if the police reports are correct, it was thought that during the “chase” the terrorists were chucking military grade explosives at the pursuing police……
In my opinion, and speculating on what explosives were used in the actual bombing, working with “military grade explosives”, like C-4 or Comp-B, would suggest the two youngish terrorists had outside training, as such, catching the little bastard alive and getting him to either spill the beans in custody, in the United States, or threaten to hand him over to the Russians………In Putin’s Russia, beans spill you.

I wonder if there is anything to this?

Did Boston Bombing Suspect Post Al Qaeda Prophecy on YouTube?

Authorities have identified the deceased suspect in the bombing of the Boston marathon, which killed three and injured more than 170, as Tamerlan Tsarnaev. A user by that name has posted a video to his YouTube playlist extolling an extremist religious prophecy associated with Al Qaeda. It is not clear yet whether the user is the same Tsarnaev as the deceased suspect.

Fox News has local reporters on scene in a Boston suburb and they are reporting that the second brother has been shot hiding in a boat and police are now sending in a robot to check for explosives, followed by an ambulance………

I'm also hearing on CNN that the police are engaging the possible suspect, shots have been fired, but he's alive - which is good, as it will be best if he is taken alive, for sure.....

One thing really puzzles me: Were the brothers planning to carry out more attacks in Boston and thought they wouldn't be uncovered? Nothing else would explain that they were still in the city four days after the attacks. In four days you can get very far away if you want to especially as it was only yesterday that they were identified and the authorities knew who to look for.
