Boges Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 Well done Ford haters. TORONTO -- A Toronto man has been charged after police say an online post urged people to throw food at Mayor Rob Ford during a party in a city park. Police say they became aware Thursday of an Internet post on a Toronto-based website that referred to the annual "Ford Fest" event to be held the following day at an east-end park. It's alleged the author of the post offered free beer to anyone who threw eggs or tomatoes at Ford. cybercoma Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 What the hell did they charge him with? Conspiracy to start a food fight? I wonder if the Toronto SWAT team storms high school cafeterias handing out assault charges when those food fights break out like in the movies. Quote

GostHacked Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 Closing a small portion of the road for a race is different from closing that length of a major road. That being said it's on a Sunday morning. That's probably the one time of the week that there'll be very little traffic. Towns all over the place close down a small portion of their main streets for Farmer's Markets every week in the summer. What makes some motorists angry is that some parkways and roads are closed every Sunday to vehicle traffic and only used for bicycles. Wait, thought this was about the bikes/sharing road thread ... Wait, thought this was about the bikes/sharing road thread ... No this was about Ford being cool with 3 kms being closed for a weekend for an Indy race but outraged that 5 kms would be closed 2 Sunday mornings in August for street festivals. jacee Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 (edited) Rob Fords playground photo-ops raise questions about voting record Toronto Mayor Rob Ford cut the ribbon of a Jane-Sheppard park whose funding he had voted against in 2012. Those were his exact words: I started this, Ramsaroop said. I didnt know that politicians were allowed to lie to your face, Ramsaroop said. ... Though Ford had never attended a meeting of the parks committee as mayor, he took his seat at the committee in September specifically so he could cast a pointed vote against three proposals to improve parks-related service. ... We cant have these lefties spending like drunken sailors, Ford said then. It appears that Ford is trying to fluff up his reputation on parks and other family-friendly issues, hanging around children a lot. (Kinda makes me wanna hurl.) I guess we'll see whether Ford Nation thinks lying to fluff himself up is acceptable in a mayor. . Edited July 30, 2014 by jacee Quote

Big Guy Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 Ford does not lie, he “forgets”. Rob Ford just cut the ribbons on a new childrens' playground in Toronto. He stated that he was instrumental in “starting the park project.” In 2012, there was a proposal to let the city use $140,000 in private money to build the park. The proposal passed 34-1. Thirty four members of council agreed. The only dissident? Rob Ford. http://www.thestar.com/news/city_hall/toronto2014election/2014/07/30/rob_fords_playground_photoops_raise_questions_about_voting_record.html This guy is something else! When the Liberals were that bad, whats it say about how bad the people thought the PC's would be? That's not true. Had the PCs been in power those plants may not have been placed there in the first place. The Liberals ignored all advice that those locations were bad and then relented when they realized they stood to lose seats. The Liberals got elected on a lie, if anything Hudak was too honest. The minute Wynne got elected her mantra is now "No New Money" for anyone. She allowed Metrolinx to give an 8% raise over 4 years but won't increase spending. How's that gonna happen without cuts? Austerity is coming, Hudak was just honest about it. Edited July 30, 2014 by Boges Quote

Going to play the waldo card and ask you to cite if you think the PCs would have put those plants there. Regardless the PCs weren't in power, so to say that they would have done the same thing is a cop out, they didn't the power or access to reports to say that it was a good place to put power plants. Regardless, the result was $1.1 billion flushed down the toilet. And the Liberals had to own that. It was what brought Dalton McGuinty down ultimately. Edited July 30, 2014 by Boges Quote

If the PCs had been in they might never have made the moronic decision to put those power plants next door to where people live in the first place. Ever think of that?
