GostHacked Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Yes...drone strikes are slightly better than Canadian CF-18's bombing "innocent" men, women, and children....in say...Libya. The USA's laundry list is much longer, wider and more extensive than Canada's. Typical BC post though. Quote
monty16 Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Trey Gowdy stated that the question he wanted to ask Hillary Clinton was, what was the US doing there in Benghazi when all other countries had already left. But it turns out that he wasn't paying attention because Hillary had already answered the question. Can anybody tell us what it is that the Republicans are complaining about? It just seems that there is nothing really specific. Is there anything that all the investigations haven't answered yet? Or is it really just trying to make an issue out of nothing? Quote
Argus Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 I'm not trying to derail the thread, but I find the entire kerfuffle here quite odd. The Obama administration, in keeping with proud tradition, is a profoundly criminal, violent organization. Oh yawn. Is there any government on this world you wouldn't so characterize? Do you honestly believe any government which has ever existed across the face of the earth stretching all the way back to the dawn of time would have a hope of matching up with your standards? bush_cheney2004 Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Waiting on an answer to this. Really ? Do we have to restate the well publicized criticism and questions as to why State ignored warnings and failed to meet requests for more security ? These decisions are now politically unacceptable in a post 9/11 U.S. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Michael Hardner Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Do we have to restate the well publicized criticism and questions as to why State ignored warnings and failed to meet requests for more security ? Security will always be a black box. They said the same thing about 9/11 and I didn't buy it as criticism of that administration either. monty16 Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Yes bush_cheney, it appears that you do need to state it because nobody is aware of any questions that haven't been answered. I think that it's useless to continue to pursue this thread until somebody actually states clearly what they are on about. As for requestiong more security, be specific, because all evidence is showing that the Republicans were intent on reducing the costs of security and hence wouldn't be in favour of more! Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Security will always be a black box. They said the same thing about 9/11 and I didn't buy it as criticism of that administration either. That didn't stop many others from doing so, did it ? This issue is fair game for Clinton as POTUS candidate, black box or not. Benghazi was after 9/11. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
bush_cheney2004 Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Yes bush_cheney, it appears that you do need to state it The U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee report is readily available for review, absolving State of some false accusations while confirming others. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Argus Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 The U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee report is readily available for review, absolving State of some false accusations while confirming others. Let's not forget this one. In a new report released on Tuesday, the House Armed Services Committee concludes that there was no way for the U.S. military to have responded in time to the 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya to save the four Americans killed that night. In doing so, the report debunks entirely a right-wing myth that says the White House ordered the military not to intervene. http://thinkprogress.org/world/2014/02/11/3276171/gop-benghazi-military-hasc/ Quote "A liberal is someone who claims to be open to all points of view — and then is surprised and offended to find there are other points of view.” William F Buckley

Of course it's fair game. Those who tried to tie the so-called intelligence failures didn't stick it to that administration either. monty16 Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 bush_cheney has nothing, he's mocking us as his "Senior Mocker" title suggests. This issue is a barefaced waste of people's time. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 The Senate report: ....also states that Stevens himself rejected two offers from General Carter Ham, the head of the U.S. military’s Africa command, for military protection the month before the attacks. The report concludes that the attacks were “likely preventable” had warnings about the “deteriorating security situation” been heeded. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

It's likely the teabaggers don't even know. The whole purpose of Benghazi is to demonize Obama and that's mainly because of the colour of his skin. Quote

monty16 Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 Gost, I've read volumes on it and it's just not a real issue as far as I can see. If there is something to look at there's a possibility that I could be convinced that it's real but I need to see it. My horse isn't really in that race, other than my lasting opinion that has been formed on US politics is that the teabagger party is nothing but a bunch of crazed racists that have come out of their closets down south to oppose that president with the black skin colour. I consider Benghazi to be a part of that and will until I have something concrete to work with. Would you like to take on that task of trying to convince 'any' of us? Quote
