Possibly. I guess he gave a good speech endorsing Romney about a month ago in Iowa. The campaign thought it went over well and asked him to do it again. He obviously didnt do that.

I kinda feel bad for the guy.

I honestly don't know what to think. I wonder if he's even aware of how he came across?

Oh I agree Obama's economic policies trashed the American economy. There is no question about that. But he did not 'build' that on his own!!

Right. You just never criticize him about it. Only Romney, who has never been in power. And whenever I bring up Obama's record of debt and deficit, your response is that Romney will be worse. Yet you never are critical of the current administration. Only on matters of privacy. I guess your just being selective in your outrage huh?

Yep he has such a good record to. As Mass governor how was his state at creating jobs. Was it last or second last in the nation?

Kinda like how you slobbered all over the last GOP administration's proverbial jock as they started massive and expensive wars and implemented disastrous fiscal policies that set the stage for the recession and left behind a trillion dollar deficit.

You're a blind partisan, Shady. As such, have no ground to stand on when it comes to accusing others of selective outrage.

I am not critical, but I am.

True. Although the Tea Party win of the house Republicans is still a small minority.

Funny how they completely control the party agenda, then.

Well, that's what you'd believe if you only watched MSNBC. It's probably news to the 5 minority speakers from last night that they're actually white!

I'm surprised the Republicans found five minority members dumb or self-serving enough to join their party.

 Yes Shady, you've figured it out, MSNBC is out to silence Black Republicans.

Maybe they were already silenced, busy eating the peanuts tossed to them.

I recall a comedian once expressing his shock at the idea of gay republicans. "Gay republicans!? What!? Hey, I beat myself up in parks! I refuse to hire myself! I consider myself wicked and sinful!"

I really liked the part about war with Iran and making an enemy out of Russia! Another chicken hawk ready to flex some American muscle and have his own people killed for no reason. Not to mention more added debt.

And his non-belief in science was terrific! Really confidence inspiring!

Brilliant stuff!

Well they aren't major players...it's the truth. I know you can't see it, because everything Republican is the best most awesome thing ever...but they just aren't all that important.

BTW, if I'm watching US news, it's usually, FOX News because I find their presentation to be the best. I hate MSNBC.

Fox "News" should be sued to force them to change their name. They're not "news" they're Republican News. They're the equivalent of the propaganda ministry channel in a banana republic. Everything they say or do is deliberately slanted towards their party.

Probably my favourite Paul Ryan rant...

This is the same mistake many members of this forum make. They measure compassion by the number and amount of inputs, that is, how much goverment is spending, and how many programs have been or are being created. By that measure, the explosion of the use of food stamps is a huge success! The explosion of medicare and medicaid spending is a huge success! The explosion of unemployment benefits, and social security benefits is a huge success! Society has never been more successful!:rolleyes:

Here's my take on Ryan and his ilk. The vast majority of the US federal budget goes to pensions, health care, and the military. The Ryans don't want to cut Defense, so that means they want to slash huge amounts from pensions and health care. Okay. But then they phrase it as if no one is going to be hurt. And they want tax cuts, as well. They're also always clutching their bibles and spouting about how they're such great Christians. But if they were honest, they'd simply say "Let's let the old people die. Let's let seniors go back to eating dog food. Let's let poor people freeze to death in the dark or die of easily treatable diseases! If we do that, we can have lower taxes! And yes, most of us (republicans) are doing all right, but hey, you can buy more stuff then!

That should be the Republican Party's out and open public policy plank. "Kill the old and the poor so we can have more stuff!"

And by the way, God loves you! Be a good Christian like us!

Jamelle Bouie on Clint Eastwood: “This is a perfect representation of the campaign: an old white man arguing with an imaginary Barack Obama.”

Yep that about sums it up.

Nice!

It seems that the big media focus of the RNC has been 1) how many lies Ryan packed into his speech and 2) Clint Eastwood's batshit crazy speech.

They could not have failed worse than that I don't think. Nobody knows or even cares what Romney had to say. If anything he's third fiddle to Eastwood then Ryan at this point and those guys aren't receiving good coverage; they're being torched.

Romney's speech was a snoozer and was poorly performed. I heard he finished strong but who wants to sit through a 40 minute speech to only enjoy the last 5 minutes. There was football on last night and I turned after the first 4 minutes of Romney because I was BORED!

I didn't watch it because the GOP are lost in the woods. People around the world are looking at this party and laughing at how an advanced industrial nation could have clowns like this as their political leadership.

I was aghast myself with the Eastwood speech but today I'm actually sad to see the way people are talking about him.

There is plenty to say about his tacky approach without having to bring ageism into it. It seems quite petty.

The only clown in politics is Joe Biden. He hits his head on doors because he forgets to open them.

You are setting yourself for a world of hurt come the Debates. Your party needs to talking about Joe Biden like he opens his mouth and drool comes out and come debate time Joe Biden is going to look like a genius. He beat Palin hands down he will do fine against Lyin Ryan and you are going to look like an idiot again Shady. Just because you keep saying something doesn't make it true. Biden isn't great at being PC but he is a good debater who is seasoned in the Senate and he can speak to people. Sorry Shady this whole hey look over there thing is only going to kick the can down the road.

He gave a real barn burner of a Speech today Shady I'll post some excerpts because from the way you talk you think the man is a baboon.

EXCERPTS: Vice President Biden’s Remarks at a Grassroots Event in Lordstown, Ohio

Below are excerpts of the Vice President’s speech as prepared for delivery --

“You heard Congressman Ryan on Wednesday night, blame the closing of a GM plant in his hometown of Janesville on the President.

“Folks, let’s look at the facts.

“Congressman Ryan was right about one thing. It was devastating for the community and those people.

“But what he didn’t tell you was that plant in Janesville actually closed while President Bush was still in office.

“And what they didn’t say is, but for the sacrifices you made, and the courage of the President, all those GM plants would have closed.

“The 200,000 auto workers who’ve been added to the employment rolls would not be working. And a million jobs would have been lost.

“GM wouldn’t have been reorganized. It would have been liquidated. Along with Chrysler.

“And as the Chairman of the Board of Ford told me, without a reorganization, they would have been devastated too -- because the supply chain would have evaporated.

“What they didn’t say is because of the auto rescue, there are 4,500 of you working here today. And GM is adding 2 shifts.

“And GM just announced they’re investing another $200 million in Lordstown.

“And combined, the auto companies have committed to invest billions in expansion,

not the Bain way,

not in Mexico, not in China,

not in Vietnam,

but in Lordstown, in Detroit,

in Toledo,

in Cleveland.

In America.

“And what they didn’t acknowledge is Governor Romney’s position was Let Detroit Go Bankrupt.

“He said if we stepped in to help, GM would be ‘the living dead.’

“You know, he is absolutely against the federal government or any government using funds to save jobs, to save industries.

“It’s bad business, he says.

“Except when it comes to his business.

“Let me quote from recent reporting. ‘Romney was willing to go to extremes to secure a federal bailout’ when Bain Consulting was on the verge of collapse.

“The way they reorganized cost the government $10 million.

“Imagine that—

“It was one thing when a million middle class jobs were on the line.

“It was another when his own financial interests were on the line.

“And—now—they say they care about the middle class?”

I look forward to seeing this one on youtube.

Ya I've said this before.

Some would say that Obama is still too popular so we will throw whoever we got against him so he is no winning by acclimation. And keep our better candidates till 2016.

But its not about Obama being that good. Its about the republican party slowly dying out.

When a real alternative party takes root in the US.Kiss the republicans and the tea party goodbye.

Maybe you shouldn't be so hard on Shady.

Its hard to support a failing party that will be extinct in several decades, and this guy is trying his best at it.

Not to mention that Biden could be making a run in 2016 and is chalking up some big points, gaining strong experience and trust in the American people.

Its hard going up against these guys,so have some sympathy.

damn eastwood! why? it started out kind of okay, but then he turned into a rambling old man in front of a semi-literate hysterical crowd.

Honestly I thought it was funny. I didn't think the chair thing was that weird, he was making a joke out of it.

I also don't think an 80 y/o man gives a rip about his reputation.
