August1991
Why does it happen sometimes that I prepare a long response/post and then, suddenly, everything that I wrote is lost. There's no way to go back to get it. Presumably, I clicked the wrong button/moved the mouse. Is this a Windows issue? Something specific to this forum? Am I the only person who suffers this? eyeball
Am I the only person who suffers this? No, shit happens to everyone. I've used another program like notepad and cut/paste the finished product if it's a long one or involves cuts and pastes of quotes and inserting links and what have you. Having a bunch of tabs and windows on the go can make it easier to cock things up too. Michael Hardner
Try hitting 'back' when this happens. Other than that, if you are composing a long piece, try hitting CTRL-A to highlight everything then CTRL-C to save it in your buffer. If you lose it, you can go back to write a new blank post, then hit CTRL-V and it will be there. BubberMiley
I would suggest writing shorter posts. Quote "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet

GostHacked
Use notepad if you are doing long posts and dont want to lose it. Hitting the back button somehow usually wipes the content of the new post. It's happened to me many times. If you lose it, you can go back to write a new blank post, then hit CTRL-V and it will be there. I've learned to do this after losing 1 too many posts. I don't even bother opening up notepad unless it seems to be taking forever to post; so that I can paste it into notepad while I figure out what's happened (many times I've lost my connection) Quote Feel free to contact me outside the forums.
