AngusThermopyle
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Thick As A Brick by Jethro Tull yet, 44 mins and some seconds long. Thick As A Brick II was released April 2nd, have to get a copy. Sadly it hasn't been released on vinyl, just CD, oh well, you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you just might find you get what you need. Actually no,one shouldn't assume that... And we haven't got to the really self indulgent stuff from Yes and Genesis...

Topaz
I don't know if this is the longest but the CCR's "I've heard through the grapevine" is 11 minutes, which I have on the album, but this version is under 4 minutes make for radio. kimmy
Pink Floyd's Saucer Full of Secrets clocks in at well over 10 minutes, and most of it is discordant chaos. And the studio version sounds like crap. But the live version on the Ummagumma record has a finale that is one of my favorite pieces of music ever. This brings a lump to my throat whenever I hear it. -k
