'Toulouse shooting sparks France's largest ever manhunt'

Recommended Posts

Officials said the calculating killer who attacked at the school, and who may have used a camera around his neck to film himself, was the same gunman who struck twice last week, killing three French soldiers of North African origin, two of whom were Muslim, and seriously injuring a black paratrooper of French Caribbean origin.

The French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, said a "monster" was on the loose. The biggest manhunt in modern French history intensified, with a swath of south-western France down to the Mediterranean saturated with police and army carrying out road and transport checks and police guarding Jewish and Muslim schools and sites across France.

curious to see how this turns out. i wouldn't be surprised if it's someone similar to the norway killer.

Mohammed Merah, French shooting suspect, exchanges gunfire with police in standoff

View Photo Gallery —  Attack is similar to two recent shootings that killed three French soldiers in past eight days.

By Edward Cody, Updated: Wednesday, March 21, 1:55 PM

PARIS — Under orders to seize him alive, French anti-terrorism forces engaged in marathon negotiations Wednesday with a young Islamic activist accused of killing three soldiers, three Jewish schoolchildren and a rabbi during an eight-day spree of point-blank assassinations in southwest France.

The standoff began in a blaze of gunfire as paramilitary forces approached the suspect’s apartment in a working-class neighborhood of Toulouse at 3 a.m. Two policemen were wounded in the initial burst, one in the shoulder the other in the knee, and the militant warned he was armed with several weapons and knew how to use them.

The timing to this is very interesting and suspect for Sarkozy .. only a month before the election

if they caught these guys within that time Sarkozy will lament himself as the protector of France and gain a lot of votes that way.. kind of like Bush's 9/11 false flag

Wouldn't be surprised myself if this was a false flag event .. desperate times call for desperate measures

So Sarkozy is shooting Jews and French soldiers to improve his chances of reelection? Alrighty, then.

I don't know if he is or not. I'm just speculating scenarios which will help his candidacy. Frances worst serial killer strikes within a month of the most important election in Sarkozy' career. Europe is at a turning point here.

What would happen to Europe if the winner of the election wasn't Sarkozy? Germany needs Sarkozy. Maybe a German is behind all of this. Who knows. But the possibility is there.

Well, we all know that 9-11 was an inside job, eh? B)

That makes sense. Germany is shooting Jews and French soldiers to improve their Vichy Sarkozy's chances at helping create the 4th Reich. Historical precedents are all there!

AW: Well, we all know that 9-11 was an inside job, eh?

Sarkozy did it.

From what I've read the Socialist party which could beat Sarkozys UMP party isn't exactly Merkel friendly

I thought Hollande 's favorables weren't that great. There is a lot of socialist pandering so I'm not so sure they would be so anti-Merkel as some would assume. Not that these things are needed to disregard a false flag accusation.

Surprised at what exactly?

I wasn't surprised that a Muslim is (apparently) again murdering other Muslims (the soldiers) and Jews.

It happens pretty much every day.

I am surprised that he was known to the police (if he's guilty), as a convict and Islamist yet still was successful.

Nothing says Norway like a guy named Muhammad.

Anyways, is anyone really all that suprised?

Yes I am suprised because I clearly heard that the French police or investigators were looking for someone from the military with neo nazi ties.

Was there not an attack on a soldier from North Afrikan decent? Was security not beefed up at Jewish AND Muslim schools?

The trail was pointing in that direction.

But anyways I am happy to hear that the perpetrator will no longer be preying on people.

This guy obviously was spun out of wack and had to be stopped!

Only to the politically correct, who keep their heads in the sand as a shelter from reality.

I wasn't surprised either when Neo-Fascists were suspected.

That would have suprised me more. Anyone paying attention to France, rocognizes the significant rise of Islamic anti-semetism in that country, and Europe as a whole.

Actually when I first heard about the shooting at a Jewish school I think it did cross my mind that a Islamic militant being behind(but maybe not) this but then they(media) mentioned something about the other target and something about security at other muslim and jewish schools being increased and that the police already had a specific profile.Aswell I am not in France nor know anyone there nor do I follow French politics very close(or at all) so I am not in any position to start guessing who was behind this.

However you seem very confident in telling everyone here that you are not suprised of the ethnic background and religion of the perpretator, after the fact.

I would have surprised me less. This guy went after North African soldiers for some reason. But he was likely unbalanced in any case. These two types of suspect come to mind first, though: nationalist or religious terrorists. They're the ones who most fear that the purity of their way of life is under threat, I suppose...
