Romney, The Inevitable Nominee

Recommended Posts

THe medical insurance companies created Obamacare. I doubt Obama has even read the thing, the jokers in congress and the senate never ready ANY of the shit they vote on.

How much do they read at Parliament Hill? Even during three (3) "readings"?

Looks like Romney won Puerto Rico with over 50% of the vote. Which is important, because that means he wins ALL 20 delegates. Next up is Illinois, which he'll win ALL those delegates as well.

PPP is saying he is getting momentum. Although I am not sure Santorum isn't throwing the race now. The guy is pounding his fist against porno now in America give me a break, he went to PR and said they need to learn English. I don't know why he would be throwing the race but no one can be this bad at politics.

It' quite simple. Santorum is not ready for the big leagues yet.

Exactly. He's an undisciplined candidate who can't stay on message for more than a day or two. He's easily distracted by the shiny objects of issues not involving the economy.

Im sure they read almost none of it. We have a different kind of government these days... they used to serve us, but this aloof and elite political class has emerged, and they think they are above labor. They take more and time off every year... and they just dont want to do the hard work required to administrate a country.

ROM is the NOM !

He clinched it...

did he? Has he?

notwithstanding the Mitt refuses to release his tax returns... other than his single 2010 release, it now surfaces that key documents associated with that 2010 tax return were not a part of what was released. In particular, Romney failed to disclose the documents he filed with the IRS in 2010 that detail his former Swiss Account holdings... the former Swiss Account as Romney closed it... and only closed it... while keeping his like tax haven accounts open in the Cayman Islands and Bermuda. Now, some are speculating, certainly not the waldo, that Romney received an amnesty from the IRS for income tax evasion related to his former Swiss Account holdings.

end the speculation Mitt! Release the hounds tax returns!

I didn't know if I should start a new thread about this or not and this seems to be the best thread to put it in.

In any case, Huntsman published a commentary in the Financial Times called "True Conservatives Despise Crony Capitalism"

The founding fathers’ vision of limited government, one that empowers free markets and creates a level playing field for all citizens, is being replaced by a form of crony capitalism where powerful economic interests blur the distinction between regulators and regulated.

A bit off-topic but maybe Ron Paul did well in medical school. In politics there's nothing intelligent about him.

Compared to others in the republican party. Say, Michelle Bachmann for example... you must at least concede to that.

In rebuttal (link):

Mitt Romney might have thought it was eminently sensible in an NBC interview in London to repeat exactly what the TV networks had already reported on security at the London Olympics, namely, that there was room for concern.

Romney succeeded only in demonstrating how unbelievably shameless and partisan our "objective" media can be. The networks and national newspapers aggressively declared Romney had committed a diplomatic fiasco overseas and repeated London tabloid headlines heckling Romney with insults, such as "Mitt the Twit."

Here's what the networks said pre-Romney. On the July 24 "Good Morning America," ABC reporter Nick Schifrin lamented "an absolute fiasco with the private guards who were supposed to be doing this. Police tell ABC News they're worried those private security guards are not adequately trained." That same night, CBS featured an unidentified British man complaining the transportation system was "going to be a bit of a fiasco. And people are going to get stranded."

On the July 17 "NBC Nightly News," Brian Williams warned, "Ten days to go now until the Olympic games get underway in London, and today, the man whose company was hired to provide security at all the Olympic venues admitted his company screwed up." A member of Parliament told NBC it was a "humiliating shambles for the company."

It was rather humourous listening to the lamestream media report on Romney's so-called gaffes. Aparently telling the truth regarding the Olympics was a gaffe. So was telling the truth regarding Israel. Apparently a gaffe has been redefined to mean anything the lamestream media disagrees with.

They're in full re-elect Obama mode, and it's only the beginning of August!

It should have been a cakewalk for Romney. All he had to do was say a few nice things, platitudes, photo ops. It wasn't important to speak "the truth". Why did he go? To try and showcase his foreign policy skills? Because that didn't work out.

I know. I heard last week he actually claimed that people that build businesses didn't actually build them. The government did.

That's because you only listen to sources that cut into people's speeches mid-sentence and, since you see this dishonesty as a virtue, you pretend you believe them.

In a way, you are as sock-puppetish as socialist.

Newspaper headlines now calling Romney "Mitt the twit"...

You may totally disagree with the way the media portrays Romney, and think it unfair. It matters not. In politics what matters most is, optics. And when you say things that allow people to attack you, as so easily done in this case, you get what you deserve. Potential failure.

I didn't like when they did to Kerry who was twice the man Rmoney is but that is the 4th estate for you. He should just be happy Americans don't read international news because that is 10 times worse for him. At least he knows most the media barons in the states and can get away with a lot more.

Yep, people don't like hearing the truth.
