Sun media is not fox news. We complain about media bias from CBC and you make remarks about sun media. The difference here is that CBC is publicly funded to the tune of 1.1billion and refuses to even show its books. Although I am not for total privatization, private health care funded by the government would probably work a hell of a lot better than the current system. The initial design when it Douglas and the rest brought it out worked on this model and worked well. Government is only good at one thing and thats creating more government. Canada has a population of 33million, we have 13 million and change that are gainfully employed. Of those 13million 3.5million are public servants of one sort or another. That means that 10 million jobs are supporting 33million people and all the social programs that support them. Of the 9% of our population that are listed as unemployed in my opinion 4% of them have never had a job and never want one. This is your welfare crowd often encompassing 3 generations that will never be anything to society but leaches. These are the facts that make me vote conservative every time I vote. The hate and slander and lies from both side of the political spectrum have done nothing but embarrassed the people that we are supposed to be electing to lead us. Just a nitpick, but I'd change the title from Tories to Conservatives.....Tories and Republicans are apples and banana's..... As for the rest: 1.When Healthcare and industry have to answer to shareholders as opposed to politicians, required cuts (labor, infastrucre etc) will be made where needed, not where the party stands to lose or gain. Also the private sector, has to turn profit, the government doesn’t. 2.We feel there is a Liberal bias in the media. Duh 3.I suppose you mean Sun News, haven’t seen it yet, but have heard it seems like something made on a university campus. As for Fox News, I enjoy the Factor, Huckabee, Lou Dobbs, Dennis Miller, Juan Williams, John Stosell, Brent Hume, Charles Krauthammer(sp) and Chris Wallace. Not really a fan of Hannity or Shep Smith. Glen Beck, I won’t comment, don’t want to get put on his chalkboard I’ve never understood the claims of real bias towards Bill O’Reilly. I think he’s great! His books are great (Loved Bold Fresh), and he has no problem calling out the “kool-aid” drinkers from either party. Does a lot of charity work which I respect. As for both your last points, though I try to stay out of the name calling myself, there’s enough from both sides to make it equally annoying. Keep’um coming. Ottawavalleyboy
Want less regulations on firearms. Believe in building up the military. Not building it up just trying to rescue it from the damage it took under liberal rule and meet our obligations to nato and the UN "Support massive tax-cuts for corporations." They arent massive and are good fiscally for promoting jobs" "Cut funding to social programs." Prove that, show anywhere in Harpers platform where he talks of cutting social programs "Refuse to answer questions from the media." Nonsense as usual "Reduce tranparency in government." umm your just making shit up now "Invade privacy by pushing internet "wire" tapping laws." Good, dont worry they are not after your porn habits. "Push "tough on crime" agenda that even Newt Gingrinch calls a failure." OK one minute your knocking tories and the next your quoting this fool out there to justify your opinion? "We could go on all night." No doubt but at any point would you explain what the alternative will be with Leyton at the head of a coalition? I would love to hear your continued brilliance/ Edited April 29, 2011 by Ottawavalleyboy

Michael Hardner
Is copying American Republicans a bad thing ? Even the Federal Liberals and NDP do it, so it doesn't seem to automatically be a bad thing to copy American Republicans, at least as far as I can see. noahbody
Hardcore Tories: Support Privatizing healthcare and other national industries The Canadian health care system is a mix of public and private care. Our hospitals are public, but outside of that, doctors operate as private businesses. The government pays no matter which door you open. Attack opponents while ignoring evidence or by misleading others Like suggesting someone has a hidden agenda or are going to put soldiers on the streets while "Americanizing" health care? The Tories are really no better or worse than the other parties. Jack Layton once accused Paul Martin of murder.

They eventually evolved into the slave states, and now they are the center of American conservatism (as it spread across the south, of course).
