Sand Snakes. They're Oberyn's Baes.

Bran and Hodor or won't be in the season at all.

Jorah said he was taking Tyrion to "The Queen" now which Queen is that? You'd assume Dany.

From what I hear in the books the trip to Mereen is still happening so the storyline is open-ended.

Stop that.

Anyway, they're actually his daughters.

Dunno why anyone would think otherwise. What better way for Ser Friendzone to prove his loyalty than to offer her a Lannister?

Sorry, Bastard kids. Oberyn must have been a pretty big pimp to have his daughters be a formidable faction in Dorne.

Could be taking him back to Cersi because he knows there is a reward (but all he would need is his head). But yeah, I'm pretty sure it's Dany.

I would have thought Ser Friendzone could take his banishment like a man. I wonder how many times did he utilize the Cosplay whore that looks like her?

I think in the books there's eight. I think in the show they've pared them down to three.

Wasn't he still a wanted man in Westoros or was he pardoned?

He was pardoned to spy on Dany, that's why he was banished.

His big beef is with the other guy in the room. Varys was the one who got the message to Barriston Selmy that he was in cahoots with Robert Baratheon initially. (on Tywin's orders)

We see that Tywin's death is quite significant overall as he kept the Lannisters relevant. They aren't so relevant anymore as we can see the North is back to doing their own thing. Both Tywin's allies (Little Finger and Roose Bolton) have betrayed the Lannisters.

See! Even Tyrion thought "Queen" meant Cersei.

This show has turned into a bunch of odd couples.

We got:

- Bronn and Jamie

- Pod and Brienne

- Tyion and Ser Friend Zone

- Lord Tyrell and Ser Myran

- Cersei and the Religious Dude

- And up until this episode, Sansa and Little Finger.

I'm sick of this trope, we see it all the time in Walking Dead, where a character gives some uplifting or optimistic view on life only the be dead before the end of the episode.

Barristan Selmy was all happy only to get that Glory that the Annoying advisor was talking about earlier trying to get MMA legalized in Mereen.

I've read theories that Little Finger is not long for the show after his, somewhat sweet talk with Sansa. He's going back to a King Landing being sorta controlled by the Westboro Baptist Church. Can't be good for him.

An interesting theory I've seen on the web, it's not a spoiler. Remember Syrio from Season One? He says to Arya "The only God is Death". In the last episode Jaqen says "There's only one God, a girl knows his name". It's pretty believable that Syrio is Jaqen. We never see him die on screen and if he's one of the faceless men, it's completely believable he survived and is acting as Arya's Guardian Angel. Apparently that isn't even in the book yet.

...right after relating the touching story about Rhaegar going out to sing in the streets. You might be on to something. Kind of like how Oberyn had that wonderful, tear-inducing talk with Tyrion, and was dead 2 episodes later.

On a completely unrelated note, I enjoyed the events at the Wall this week. The talk Stannis gave Shareen got me right in the ... uh-oh.

Indeed. A guy whose power has come from preying on peoples' greed and vanity is about to find himself face-to-face with an adversary that has neither.

Gotta hand it to Cersei. Every time it seems like she's washed up, she finds a way to stay relevant. She's kind of like Madonna.

That is an interesting theory. However, it seems to me that the last time we saw Syrio he was about to fight Meryn Trant with a wooden stick. To get out of that bind, it seems to me he'd have had to either killed Ser Meryn, or duped Meryn into thinking he was dead. We know Meryn is still alive, which leaves us wondering how Syrio could have escaped that situation.

Speaking of Ser Meryn, I'm so stoked to see him back on the show! The long-awaited return we've been hoping for! I'm sure the GoT online community is all abuzz over this.

It seems to me that Jaime, the Hound, and Ser Barristan have all made jokes about what a shitty swordsman Meryn is, and now I can hardly wait to see him in action. It's getting to like Beck's music video for "The Devil's Haircut", where you never actually get to see his haircut because he's wearing a cowboy hat the whole time.

Ser Meryn mysteriously showed up on Arya's Hit list and now he's headed to Bravos. Who's in Bravos right now? ;)

When you don't see a character die on camera there's always a chance you see that character again. No one knows if the Hound is ultimately dead either.

Little Finger probably doesn't want to stick around Winterfell either with Stannis en route.

He can argue that he has been working against the Lannisters in some significant ways, but Stannis won't want a master conspirator and puppetmaster like Little Finger around, period.

Somebody is going to chop up Lord Baelish, he does not have many friends.

I don't think Grey Worm and Ser Barristan are dead just yet.

I believe I saw a pool of blood around one of them. Would have to look at it again.

Grey Worm may survive, but Ser Barristan is probably done. You don't have a scene like that with Dany, unless you're about to take someone out.

There's nothing mysterious about why he's on her hit list! That would be sweet if she collides with him when he gets there.

But it's Arya Stark who has a vendetta against Ser Meryn, and now that she's "a girl", isn't she supposed to leave all of that behind?

In his favor, I don't think Cersei knows the hand he played in Joffrey's death. She may want his assistance in planning against the Tyrrells.

I think Grey Worm is still kickin', because they've been nursing along this little romance angle with him and Dany's handmaiden. But I think we've seen the end of Ser Barry.

Can I also mention how I did a legit LOL when the Red WhorERRRRwitch drops a "You know nuffin, Jon Snow" after he didn't put out.

True dat! One assumes she's used her Red Witch magic to look into Jon's brain or his past. Either that or it was a shout-out to a popular internet meme, but I expect it's the former.

They also talked more about the Rhaegar + Lianne story. I think it's already been hinted that Lianne wasn't an unwilling captive of Rhaegar, despite Sansa's angry assertion to the contrary.

It must be a handholding kind of romance with the handmaiden then, because GreyWorm is missing his worm.

We know from a previous episode that they got off on cuddling.

Grey Worm did seem to like seeing her Nekkid.

AWWWW Ser Friendzone has Greyscale now.

All the scene's with Sansa were awesome last night. Way to go Ramsay, it took you what a week to show her that you're completely cra-cra?

I suspect the war for Winterfell will be the Episode 9 epic this year.

Greyworm still getting the hot chick even without his junk. It was kind of sweet that he only cared that he didn't get to see her again if he died.

Dany is going to marry the dude who just wants gladiator fights back? Ser Greyscale and Dario will be pissed when they find out about this.

I'll say this again. Best Show on TV right now! It's worth the subscription to HBO.

Most entertaining for sure. But I dunno about "best". Not in a world where Mad Men exists.

I never got into Mad Men. It's done soon anyway. I would say Breaking Bad is my favourite TV show of all time, but that's not around anymore either.

I'm very intrigued by the upcoming clash between Stannis and the Boltons.

I like Stannis. He's as cuddly as a cactus. But underneath that prickly exterior is a guy who believes in law and honor and a dad who loves his daughter. The Stannis we've seen since the Battle of Blackwater makes it seem like summoning a demon to murder his brother was really out of character. I think his obsession with claiming the throne played into that, and to some degree Melissandre's manipulation helped it along. As with just about everybody else on the show, he's got both good points and flaws. I can't imagine what role Shareen will play in this, but I am sure she plays into it somehow. I seem to recall Melissandre being convinced it was important that Shareen come north with them. I wonder if she has some blood magic planned for Shareen.

It seemed as if Sansa's eyes lit up momentarily when she heard that Mrs Bolton is expecting. She might be thinking "What would Littlefinger do in a situation like this" and notice that she could play on Ramsay's jealousy and insecurity to put an end to Roose. Sansa also has some unknown number of Stark loyalists to draw on. She also has one of the toughest swordsmen in Westeros nearby planning to "rescue" her, which might not be a good thing. Brienne could end up screwing everything up for Sansa. Then again Brienne could also end up putting an end to Stannis to avenge Renley. Whatever it is, I can't help think that somehow Sansa will have victory snatched out of her hands, as is Stark tradition.

Man, I can't believe Dany fed that dude to her dragons. Man, I can't believe Dany is going to marry that douche. Just a couple of episodes, Roose was explaining to Ramsay how marriage is the most powerful way to obtain unity. Feeding that dude to the dragons while his compatriots watched was also a pretty ruthless move. Seeing Ser Barry dead on a slab seems to have convinced her that trying to persuade people with kindness and fairness just wasn't cutting it.

You don't think those family leaders were complicit in the whole Sons of the Harpy insurgence? She was making an example of one of them.

Oh, of course. But that whole "everybody gets a fair trial" thing is clearly out the window.

Should have listened to the dude she executed. These people only respond to blood.

She's a petulant teenage girl (not trying to be sexist). Aemon says it best when he mentions that she's essentially out their alone. All her advisors had/have their own agenda. Many follow her because she's got dragons, not cuz she's a great leader. Dario said as much.

Like with much of GoT, there are real world comparisons to what goes on. There are obvious comparisons that can be made from what Dany is going through and the West's involvement in the Middle East.

Then we have Valyria which is pretty much ancient Rome.

The story goes that thousands of years ago Bran The Builder was able to convince men, the free folk, giants, children of the forest, etc. to all work together to build Winterfell, the wall and to combat the walkers. A similar position to what Jon is in now. The Starks were instrumental in defeating the dead hence the phrases, "the North remembers" and "there must always be a Stark in Winterfell." When winter comes I suspect a Stark will be in Winterfell and since Jon is most likely a Targaryen (even Stannis doubts the bastard claims) it will be Sansa. Like you mentioned, I think that twinkle in her eye is the start of a transformation from naive girl into a wise and cunning woman and leader.

Edit: I think both Theon and Brienne will play a role in Sansa retaking Winterfell for the Starks.

I think that transformation started way back in season 1 when she was watching Cersei in action. She wasn't the same girl by the end of the first season that she was when they set out for King's Landing.

We definitely saw it last season when she lied to her Tully cousins to cover up for Littlefinger. I think that was kind of like her "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" moment where she let Littlefinger know that she wanted to get in the game.
