How best to turn America into a socialist utopia, trick the capitalists into agreeing with you.

By passes the whole violent revolution thing, for all his failings I don't think Obama is a murderer.

I thought the Capitalists were the smart guys who had all the answers??

Why would they fooled by the "Marxist" in the White House?

Trump has one fatal flaw..... Sooner or later, every candidate has to wear a hat. Ball cap, hard hat, cowboy hat, toque- something, somewhere on the campaign trail, somebody is going to make you wear a lid. And there is the problem: with a monster hairdo like Trumps, any hat will have to be the size of Rhode Island and make him look like a sideshow clown. End of Presidential bid, right there.

The government should do something.

His second fatal flaw is that inevitably he opens his mouth, and sounds like a clown.

....It's sad, but I think it's a depressing moment for Americans to look at their potential future leaders - hopefully some good challengers to Obama will arise in the not-too-distant future.

Sad for who? Americans don't elect saviors....they elect presidents. The rest of the world just gets to watch! ;)

You can't tell me that you're not a little depressed with the current line-up. Hopefully some strong candidates will come forward by the time the campaign really gets into gear.

Others may be so inclined, but not moi. I have seen too many elections going back to JFK to ever elevate the process or office to such a lofty place. America and Americans are larger than any single presidential candidate or president.

Sometimes...we even shoot 'em! ;)

In Trump's case you could always shout out "YOU'RE FIRED!"

I think Trump would make an excellent President.

Of course you would. You seem to admire imbeciles.

And let's be honest, he couldn't be as bad as the current occupant! Yikes. :D

Who, if the Republicans keep trying to foist demented halfwits as potential candidates, ought to be able to secure a second term with ease.

That's what President Carter thought about Ronald Reagan too! ;)

I'm having a hard time picturing a Ronald Reagan-style candidate when I see Donald Trump. What I see isn't a great communicator, just a loud-mouthed swindler who should be glad he didn't end up buried in the Nevada desert. Reagan started as a celebrity and became a major public figure and successful politician long before he buried Jimmy Carter. Trump has a reality TV show and continues to skip loan payments.

Donald Trump is also a "celebrity" and a very public figure, with very good name recognition. He is worth almost as much as Ross Perot, another private sector candidate who managed to get 18% of the vote in 1992. You can dismiss him as a lark, but you don't have to vote for a president.

Unfortunately, the only halfwit is sitting in the oval office as we speak. I'm hoping that in a couple of years from now, we're talking about a President Romney, or President Trump. We can only hope.

every GOP candidate or potential candidate, besides romney, is a clown. this is a good time for rand paul to consider running.

How is Tim Pawlenty a clown?

I can think of a lot reasons to criticize Obama, but the one that's clear is that the guy is pretty damned bright. Not that smarts can always save a presidency.

Not sure what you mean by this, but so what? An American presidential campaign is a very expensive and grueling affair. It is hardball... and separates the contenders from the pretenders. It's how we do it...and you will watch either way. Obama is already the president.

They don't even elect presidents. They elect celebrities.

Well, I could say the same thing about Donald Trump. There's a lot of reasons to criticize him, but he's definitely a bright person.
