GostHacked Posted May 11, 2014 Report Posted May 11, 2014 Shouldn't some of these status updates be posted in the appropriate threads so they can be debated? It seems sort of a cop-out to post there. Is this the intention of status updates? I agree. Getting rid of the status update would be a good thing. Would force some of the posts back to some threads and would actually benefit the forums by that alone. Some thread participation is down simply because some have took it too the sidelines. Something I have mentioned several times on the 'how to make the forums better' thread. Quote

GostHacked Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 You're always free to toggle off seeing any status updates if you don't like to see them. If I see them or not, it still takes away from thread participation. Actually, keep posting in the updates instead of the threads. I think I might actually prefer it that way. Quote

Moonlight Graham Posted May 24, 2014 Report Posted May 24, 2014 Yes --- if they violate any of the forum rules and guidelines which contain the words "will be deleted without warning." GostHacked Posted May 24, 2014 Report Posted May 24, 2014 No it doesn't. One can do both. True. But if a member decides to post a few more real thread posts than normal, you seem to have an issue? And where did you decide to air the complaint? In the status update. I won't complain about you sitting in the status updates anymore, if you stop complaining about Big Guy's amount of forum threads. Deal? Quote

WWWTT It was not pat of the original web design. When the site was upgraded, the plugin part for that was available, but only was enabled some time later. waldo Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 I like the status updates. particularly now that you've taken to trolling them (along with threads) where you purposely write something that has absolutely no relation to either your thread quote, the thread topic, the opening status update or discussions therein! socialist Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 The status updates have been a great addition to this excellent forum. Keep up the good work! Quote Thankful to have become a free thinker.
waldo Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 is there a limit on how many times a particular status update can be input? It seems everyone on this board, except one member, takes their shot and, depending on activity level, has their update displayed for the period of time before it "rolls off", subject to that activity level. One particular shady practices member here has, quite literally, put forward the exact same worded status update... now approaching, at least (as I've viewed)... 10 separate updates now. #abusiveShadyPractices Quote
waldo Posted August 22, 2015 Report Posted August 22, 2015 we need an official count tally as the same status update has been provided, once again: accepting to a count correction by the practitioner, I hereby register the official MLW count tally of that exact same status update @ 10 --- #abusiveShadyPractices Quote

WestCoastRunner Posted January 13, 2016 Report Posted January 13, 2016 I do have an issue with the status updates. Many of the status updates have over 15 responses. Why don't the originators of these SU start a thread? Do they not have the self confidence to carry forward a thread so they revert to a weak SU? Quote I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life's a bitch. You've got to go out and kick ass. - Maya Angelou
msj Posted January 13, 2016 Report Posted January 13, 2016 If one does not like the SU's then why is one reading them? Why not start your own thread if it is so bothersome.
