Immigrants destroyed the World Trade Center. Violent crime and economic disparity are staggering in the United States, compared to other Western nations. I would hardly say their idea of complete integration into the loneliness of a culture that values individuality over community, and independence over social welfare, has been a glowing success.

I wouldn't call Jane/Finch or St. James Town paradise either, and let's not forget about Air India or the Toronto 18.

Incorrect. A visa allows someone to visit. Tourists from some countries need visas....immigrants get green cards and have much more freedom...can work and such.

No...as the United States has a large domestic Hispanic population of about 46 million, second only to Mexico in the entire world. About 60% of the origin is from Mexico, not all Spanish speaking growth.

Maybe I have bad information, but they were taking classes in the United States and living there. If they were "just visiting", then we're splitting hairs about the definition of an immigrant. In the context of Argus's opening post, either way, they are undesirable foreigners.

I've already pointed out facts:

1) The white population is declining in all countries with white majorities (must not call them white countries even though it's ok to call black countries black, asian countries asian or muslim countries muslim).

2) Black people are treating white people worse in black countries than vice versa. Nearly a million white people have left South Africa due to safety concerns and most have already been driven out of Zimbabwe while on the other hand, the president of the US is half black, and countries with white majorities are helping people in Haiti.

3) Countries with white majorities are taking in large numbers of non-whites, but non-white countries remain virtually homogeneous. How many non-japanese are in Japan (second largest economy in the world)? How many non-chinese is China taking in (with its red hot economy)?

4) In the Middle East, people face persecution if they're not Muslims. It is a crime simply to enter Mecca if you're not a Muslim. There are thousands of mosques in non-Muslim countries, but how many churches are there in Saudi Arabia?

These are irrefutable facts and that is why you brush them off instead of debating it.

By the way, the Japanese and Chinese governments do not ask ethnicity related questions in their censuses. Instead, they ask people their nationality, that is what nation-state they are from. What that means is naturalized citizens, for example, would classify themselves as Japanese, even though they are not ethnically Japanese.

The number of immigrants is a problem... Yet, there more immigrants coming to Canada on a yearly basis in the early 1910's and in the mid-1950's than now...

Projections from Statistics Canada are that by 2031 between 25% and 28% of the population might be foreign-born. The percentage was 22% between 1911 and 1931... And 28% is not a majority.

Some will say "but immigrants from today are not the same as immigrants from them". Yet each generation of immigrant are meet with the same bigotry, generalization and misconceptions. The same things said about Afghan immigrants today were said about those from Italy 90 years ago...
