Bugs Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 How about this? AP reports:Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, described as the No. 2 behind Taliban founder and Osama bin Laden associate Mullah Muhammad Omar, has been in Pakistan's custody for several days... Baradar was captured in Karachi, Pakistan, in a raid by Pakistan's Directorate for Inter-Services Intelligence, with CIA operatives accompanying the Pakistanis, the Times reported. Pakistan has been leading the interrogation of Baradar, but Americans were also involved, it said. Baradar heads the Taliban's military council and was elevated in the body after the 2006 death of military chief Mullah Akhtar Mohammed Usmani. Baradar is known to coordinate the movement's military operations throughout the south and southwest of Afghanistan. His area of direct responsibility stretches over Kandahar, Helmand, Nimroz, Zabul and Uruzgan provinces. If confirmed, Baradar's arrest would be a major setback for the Taliban. He may also have information on the whereabouts of Omar and bin Laden. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/02/15/mullah-abdul-ghani-baradar-captured-taliban_n_463308.html It's a good think the Pakistani folks have captured this guy. They don't have to worry about being censured for using waterboards to get their information ... they go right to the electrodes. Comments? Quote
DogOnPorch Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Certainly a good catch. Actual leaders are hard to come by. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

bloodyminded Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 (edited) Awwww...wanna give the poor guy a hug? That f**ker has cut folks' heads-off himself. You know, when someone objects to torture, it doesn't automatically demand that he wnats to give the man a hug. Of course you know this. But apologists for torture, crawling around the muck of the moral low-ground, must always make such remarks, bereft as they are of argument. DogOnPorch Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 So do his enemies. Why do you always suck-up to them? Why do I "suck up" to Canada? Because I'm a Canadian. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

DogOnPorch Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 And why does Canada have the blood of thousands on it's hands? We don't have the blood of thousands on our hands. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
eyeball Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 We don't have the blood of thousands on our hands. We hold hands with people who do. Like we do our defense, we also rely on our allies to do our dirty work for us. We can wash our hands of that all we like but not the stain and the stench. I'm no fan of 'big government'. Canada is a sea of bureaucrats with little reason for existence except to make one's life miserable. Guest American Woman Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Certainly a good catch. Actual leaders are hard to come by. Agreed. By all accounts, it could be a serious blow to the insurgency. A good thing? It's wonderful. It's so much easier to win the War for Hearts and Minds when we use electrodes against our enemies. Where, other than in the opening post, does it say anyone, much less "we," is using electrodes on him? Quote

eyeball Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 Where, other than in the opening post, does it say anyone, much less "we," is using electrodes on him? We're allies and close friends with the one's wielding the electrodes. No doubt some of us are close enough to smell the burning flesh and hear the screams but not so close we have to worry about being censured for the way our pals get our information. We're probably in the next room or just outside the chamber. By all accounts, it could be a serious blow to the insurgency. I doubt it. The term is usually trotted out when you want to portray actions as 'bad'. Or really stupid - it's clear our original idiocy was climbing into bed with a communist dictator to defeat a socialist one back in WW2. Then we got all close and intimate with Islamo-fascists to defeat the commies. But don't look now - here we are allied with the commies again, this time to defeat democracy of all things. Thanks to Chinese electronic monitoring-and-control software, the government is able to block most opposition electronic communications when it desires,” the group said in a recent report.http://www.ethiopianreview.com/content/11315 This is largely because Western governments, such as the United States, Britain and European Union, rely on the Ethiopian government as a key African ally in the "war on terror". It is one of the largest recipients of overseas development assistance in this unstable region, receiving nearly 2.0 billion dollars in aid each year.http://ipsnews.net/africa/nota.asp?idnews=42766 Given that we really don't give a shit about democracy after all why we didn't just climb into bed with that socialist dictator instead of the communist one back in WW2 is a bit of a mystery. Oleg Bach Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 Dumbies....SO what are they doing now? The media tells the world that this guy knows where Bin Laden is, Saudi Arabias..most heroic favorite son.....so Benny simply changes location- some one should arrest the media. Quote
