This Just For fun so please don't take this seriously.

I must say that Jack Layton comes across as the nicest guy in politics. Certainly not someone I'd vote for but certainly the least creepy that's for sure. Michael Ignatieff is power hungry and I don't trust him, Stephen Harper is fake, and Gilles Duceppe comes across as being a disgruntled and very mean person.

I voted for Jack as the creepiest. With his porn-star mustache and his complete disregard for truth and ethics I really worry about what he's like under that ridiculous smile.

I really can't trust someone who lived in subsidized housing while making well above average income. It takes a really special person to do that.

lol I voted Iggnatieff, he's what I would imagine an uncle who touches you funny looks like. Plus he's proven himself to be the biggest political opportunist in Canadian politics (yes surpassing Stephen Harper)

Alex, sorry if I come across as picky, but two of the names are not spelled correctly in your poll. It's Ignatieff, not Iggnatieff and it's Duceppe, not Duccepe. Now to answer your amusing poll question.

To me, creepy means scary.

In terms of creepiness, I must say if I woke up in the night and saw one of those faces peering at me, Ignatieff wins hands down on the creepy/scary scale. I swear, if I had an Iggy nightmare, his eye teeth, eyebrows and nails would appear one inch longer in the dream than in real life. "The Count" is apt in describing my visual of Ignatieff. A silver bullet would be no good to me as I don't have a (registered) firearm. Is it true what they say about garlic?

If I woke and saw Harper's mug I would mostly be scared by those Alaskan malamute like blue eyes that are set too close together.

Layton...well, if he winked at me it would be game over. I'd call 911 thinking a perv escaped the local jail. Anyway, I often feel that when Jack speaks, he's on the verge of winking at me and saying "Just kidding".

Duceppe...with those huge round eyes that look more scared than threatening and mop of white hair...I would offer him a ride back to the local mental hospital. If he was wearing a shower cap, I'd call an ambulance. You never can tell.

Elizabeth May reminds me of the wicked witch of the East trying to be nice. Yup, I could see her riding a broom from Nova Scotia to BC. Cheaper than Via Rail.

You stole my line....only I was going to say Layton. Anyone ever seen "Boogie Nights"? Ya, he'd fit right in.

I love the Count Chocula line. So true.

Gilles looks like he's been eating bennys like they're M&Ms.

Harper looks like he's been popping 'ludes.

May looks like that aunt that you've never seen with a guy, but has a "friend" with her every time you see her.

How can one vote anything but Harper?

-

Harper is the creepy alien looking one, doesn't look like a normal person. No idea what intents are.

Ignatieff is the untrustworthy one, go from your best friend to your worst enemy overnight, to advance his own position. He will call you out in your face however.

Layton is the sneaky one. Continues to act like your friend while setting up your downfall in the backroom.

Duceppe is the brute. Will roll over anyone to get what he wants, will stand up and pound his chest, nothing to hide.

-

Not trying to project political values, just my perspective. Based on the adjective 'creepy,' I don't see how the vote can go to anybody but Harper.

Some fairly funny comments here.

Looking at our politicians, at least here in Ontario, it's all creep all the time. McGuinty and Ignatieff are surely surrounded by grave robbers who keep them well fed... but seriously what happened ?

We used to have these larger-than-life politicans ten years ago - Chretien, Harris and Lastman. These politicians were either stepping in it so badly that you would double up in laughter, or they were trying to kill you. ( Note that all three either threatened to kill or did kill constituents. )

We have replaced these politicians with nothing but the waking dead. I'm sure that a well spoken clown with a seltzer bottle would have a fair shot at running the country today.

Ludes

Tell me Steve doesn't look like he's fantasizing about Doritos most of the time...

Ludes:

Usual effects include relaxation, euphoria, and drowsiness, also reducing heart rate, respiration, increased sexual arousal (aphrodisia) and parasthesias (Numbness of the fingers and toes). Larger doses can bring about respiratory depression, slurred speech, headache and photophobia (pain in the eyes when exposed to light).

This explains a lot about Harper, some we know, some we don't...and frankly don't want to know.

Gilles Duceppe looks cool.

Jack Layton's mustache still wierds me out a little. On one hand, I shoudn't judge people with mustaches and I can't see him looking better without it. But still, it's creepy.

Iggy has that dimple between his eyebrows that makes it look like he has a unibrow. He can't help it.

Steven Colbert said it best. "The world doesn't need another lesbian president. Canada already has Steven Harper".

There you go again, it was co-op housing.

Jack and Chow lived in a 3 bedroom apartment for almost TWO YEARS for $800.00 a month in Toronto. Co-op housing generally means you have low income tenants and market rate paying tenants.

800/month for a three bedroom apartment isn't market rent anywhere in Toronto and wasn't in the late 80's either.

Quite true. At the time Layton was living in the co-op I was libing in the annex. The first place I had was a small one bedreoom for $700 a month then a larger one bedroom for $1000.

Layton didn't start paying market rates till after the Star broke the story.

crazyk,

Much of Harper's creepy and robotic nature is more because he hates people. You put him around his family or some kittens, he suddenly seems normal.

Good point. Harper is not a zombie as much as a robot programmed to pet kittens when a camera is pointed at him. That makes him less creepy than the Liberal undead by a margin.

Layton has to keep that mustache to maintain a level of creepiness in case it's needed. He's like the protagonist's friend in an action movie, who goes over to the bad side in a twist at the end. Presently, he was tricked into supporting the evil conservative robot army.

Duceppe isn't evil, except that he's been a party leader since 1996 - working with Jean Charest and Preston Manning - which makes him seem like a bit of a mummy.
