Cutting The Cord -- How to leave cable companies?

They think it is secure, but.... Many many people think nothing of stealing copyrighted music movies books ectc. It is not a stretch from there to stealing the service itself. -
Right, spend billions to sustain high unemployment in the Maritimes. Brilliant. It's worked very well so far, let's spend even more. Welcome to Canuckistan.

favorite energy drink slogan from a while back: JOLT cola- all the sugar and twice the caffeine!!!
-
Your choice is to have Maritime universities crank out graduates for jobs that don't exist, then chronically whine that somebody else is to blame.(Harper again). I can choose to laugh or barf. there is nothing else there. I have never complained abut transfer payments in my life. But if you cannot get work where you live, move. I've done it. Millions have. Then you can earn money, pay taxes, and support those who cannot work (like the elderly). Duh.

at 18 they are able to sign contracts. Entering uni is not like choosing a play school. You are choosing a future. If you don't know what you're doing, don't go.

Connecting to the Internet does not necessarily involve paying for access yourself. My nephew and his entire cohort of friends 'attach' themselves to residential and commercial supposedly secure wifi nets without the owners knowledge. Clueless indeed. -
The Degradation of Political Debate
overthere replied to Big Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
These are the golden days of political discourse. Unless you prefer an era of outright coercion of a largely uninformed and often illiterate electorate, cracked heads and the outright purchase of votes with threats or whiskey. -

I agree that the govt should provide enhanced security for opposition leaders if they request it. -
That is one of the worst posts ever made here. Luckily the many thousands of energetic Maritimers who have moved West and found decent jobs would laugh you off.

what a load of entitled twaddle. every person who chooses to go to university is an adult. You also have to be an adult to get a loan, sign a contract. It's an IQ test of sorts and it appeas some fail it early. Harper and Trudeau cannot guarantee anybodys future livelihood. If there are no jobs in NB, move.

You must be some kind of commie to talk like this.

A crushing loss last night, and another pitching failure after our offence gave us enough to win. Hats off to Gibbons for playing small ball to get a few runs across on a fine Detroit starter. Jays are six back of Baltimore now and it is hard to see them catching up. The Yankees and Mariners are ahead of them in a wild card race the Jays owned just a week ago. September has come early.

You have that completely backwards. The PRIMARY ROLE of any government is clearly security of its citizens. The military is the main delivery instrument for that essential mandate. Our military has two roles, and they are intimately entwined: defence of the country, and fulfillment of our treaty obligations If you consider the actual cost of defending our vast territory on our own, our small investment is miniscule. Our military is dramatically underfunded for that role. Air force, navy and army have no chance at all in defending the country on their own, we do not have the equipment or personnel because we choose not to spend what is required. Instead, we rely and have relied on our alliances to deter aggressors. One hundred years ago UK was our main ally, for the last 70+ years is has been the US. We have long made the choice to live under the protective might of the US umbrella. It is not just a convenience of geography, it is what we have chosen. So in fact, our military and our country is a a net recipient of charity, not a net provider. Sure, we contribute what we think is a lot to international ventures, under the auspices of NATO, the UN or both. But, in balance, it is a pittance to what we gain by being a member of those alliances. Canadians hate to see the truth in this regard, our fragile national ego is battered, but it is still the truth. And... it remains the right choice overall.

They should tie the NOAA budget directly to a powerful environmental indicator. Growth or shrinkage of the icecaps? Mean temperatures? Al Gores electricity bill? David Suzukis net income? -
The HAMAS Charter - Murderous Insanity
overthere replied to Keepitsimple's topic in The Rest of the World
Because those pesky Joos consistently refuse to rush into the sea in a suicidal tidal wave of Semitic lemmings. They just don't seem to understand their role at all. -
It is quite telling that you fail to note that the primary reason few Israelis are killed by the relentless barrage of rockets has absolutely fuck all to do with a lack of prolonged and sincere effort on behalf of Hamas. The Israelis of course have built a lot of bomb shelters and a very expensive rocket defense system. Amazingly, they just don't want to die to meet your bizarre notion of fairness. Would you be more sympathetic to the dirty Joos if they just rolled over and died to even up the body count? Is that what you seek?

Happ was good, but Gonzalez was better. Baltimore has also had lots of injuries, but their pitching has carried them when their hitting has not. And team pitching- again- is where the Jays flounder compared to other good teams. Last night the Orioles bullpen was superb too, they just mowed the Jays down with little effort or concern..

Christians have lived more or less side by side with Muslims throughout the near and Middle East for centuries. Not so much anymore, Christian populations in many Muslim countries are dropping quickly right now . A religious cleansing is underway right now in Iraq by ISIS. In the abscnece of Jews there. Christians will do. -
Ebola Patients Coming To North America
overthere replied to Big Guy's topic in Health, Science and Technology
lass advanced medical care can control the spread of Ebola. SARS spreads easily as it is airborne. Ebola is much harder to catch, mainly spreads through bodily fluids. And The West can isol;ate much better against that than can African nations. For example, it is common at funerals in West Africa for people to touch the corpse. The virus stays live for days on the body, thus.... That does not happen here.
