  1. Yes, he can be blamed and will be blamed. He spent a whole pile of Rogers money and got absolutely nothing back. Nothing back in the way of results, which is all that matters at this point. In pro sports, that means bye bye, or should mean bye bye. He was given the two major tools: money and time, and came up empty. There is no reason to prolong the mistake. Prospects, next year, blahblahblah. What will they rebuild with? Their drafting and development has been utterly dismal and their cupboard is nearly bare. Roster players are not looking so good now.... Dickey: mediocre on his better days Buehrle: exposed for what he is, a vet in sharp decline Hutchison: meh Happ: more meh Morrow: always hurt Lawrie: always hurt: Reyes: inconsistent and will cost a stunning $22M next year Cabrera: free agent and we won't be able to afford him Bautista: promised a winner four years ago, won't sign here again in his final year and will have to be traded. Lind: meh EE: looks solid Rasmus: not worth the money: the rest.... won't be enough. They are in danger of moving into Leafs territory...
  2. Alberta has had a major intake of people in that time period and a large increase in population, of course they need more teachers.
  3. yet still entirely factual, eh?
  4. II can hardly wait for Leonardos expert scientific commentary on our environment and economy. I believe his private jet delivering special organic food just flew over my house on an emergency flight to Fort McMurray.
  5. When you link to info showing that Harper gave away $200 million of our money to his pals at Montreal ad agencies, I'll be the first to agree with you.
  6. Of course the BCTF wants smaller classes. Smaller classes means there are more teachers, it is basic and inescapable math. More teachers means more fat union dues. But...... THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!!.
  7. 67-67 record..... and the certainty of another mediocre season. Goodbye Alex Alphabet and John Gibbons will return to his early retirement.
  8. The choice to abort or not abort the fetus is none of my business.
  9. CRA is perhaps the only govt department that has weathered the frequent storms of recessions and cutbacks for 20+ years in the form of more money and more staff than other departments. And how do you define 'adequate staff?". My very good friend, a very competent auditor who exceeded her annual clawback quotas easily and repeatedly, was courted by many of the accounting and legal firms she faced daily. The existing penalties for tax fraud are already severe, what is lacking is complete clarity in application of simple rules. The tax code intepretative literature c/w precedents occupies several rooms and is so complex no human can cope. I'd suggest a flat tax, but would be unable to withstand the avalanche of whining here that would surely begin. Oh, and the Cameco example is not a good one as they are not a typical corporation. Cameco mines a strategic product, and Canada has something like 40% of the world supply and Australia has about 40% more. The rules of supply and demand are skewed, Cameco is not going to move their operations to China, India or anywhere that does not have a whole lot of uranium in the ground. Avoid potash too. Ta.
  10. And lest we forget: Martin also lucked out with a dramatic downturn in the interest rates the govt of Canuckistan paid on the whopping national debt. He had no influence on the rate, but it saved billions per year and did not cost him a nickel. Sometimes ya just get lucky.
  11. You could make it up by stopping by your local Hells Angels chapter and expressing your solidarity with their left wing leanings as pimps.
  12. Correct. Gold star for you. Unfortunately, Education Alberta insisted on the discovery method as the sole means of teaching elementary age children the basic math skills that will serve them their entire lives.. Fortunately, experienced teachers ignored(as usual) the dumb shit routinely promoted by people that should really know better. In the serenity of their classrooms, they employed a variety of methods to make sure their kids learned what they needed to know. Children learn in different ways, so good teachers teach in different ways to different kids in their classes. Imagine the horror of 'curriculum experts' at this notion!
  13. There is a simple solution, and I learned this calculation from my Grade 5 teacher Mrs Muffle. Instead of raising the salaries of BC teachers so they can get the money they think they deserve, why not reduce the salaries of teachers in other provinces, keep the BC salaries where they are, drop the average overall and make BC teachers proudly the national salary leaders? It's a win-win.
  14. so you support reporters camping full time on Citizen Trudeaus front step in the hope of getting unscripted access? Lets be fair.
  15. This supports the need to cut back on rail transport of our precious natural resources and get on with building some pipelines. no need to rehire inspectors then.
  16. Observe what is happening in France for instruction on that. IMO, their economy is on the verge of collapse. There are no jobs for young people. By luck or design, their series of worthless leaders has a convenient scapegoat to blame: brown people. The actual reason is ruinous economic policy, incldung restricted work hours, early retirement, ridiculously fat compensation/benefits for public servants etc etc etc. I have had three family members from France stay with me in the last three years[all around 30}, starting new lives. All are well educated, energetic and without a future in France because they simply cannot find work. It's an example for Canada, and one we can avoid if we so choose.
  17. I don't care what immigrants think. I care what they do. Here is what they have to do, and it is the exact same thing that citizens have to do: Work Pay Taxes Obey the laws of Canada Beyond that, do what you wish and enjoy your privileged life here.
  18. Um, if you are adept enough to crack the wifi security, you are adept enough to ensure there is little trace left behind. It's a gift that keeps giving.
  19. Harper or Trudeau or anybody else wont change the relationship that many Canadians have with the occasional joint. All of this-all- is just posturing. Really, nobody including the cops gives a shit.
  20. I feel degraded by this debate
  21. I don't know about Eastern Canada but the wholesale weed business in the West is not run by neighbour or the Mexicans. It is dominated by bikers who don't wear their colours or ride bikes when they are working. It is a very large and profitable business, pretty safe too since their customers are frequently middle class middle aged people. They buy entire crops on contract from small growers. The greatest danger in growing weed is not the cultivation, it is selling the product. The penalties for trafficking are far worse than for growing, and the bikers take care of that with a single transaction
  22. Train derailments just never happened when the Liberals were in charge.
  23. If the problem was in Canadian airspace we could send out a F-35 in 13 years, not 30 minutes.
  24. Ron had no right to the land, he is a thief and so are you by your own logic.
  25. why would on duty police officers be permitted to wear anything but their regular uniforms?
