President Bush is an utter failure when it comes to Domestic fiscal policy. Congress holds the purse strings, yes, but it is the President who sets both Fiscal and Monetary policy (Along with the board of governors). The one good thing i have to say about Bill clinton was that he was an whiz with Fiscal policy.

See the problem with you is, you let the government handle what is ultimately your responsibility. Justice for a loved one who is killed at the hands of another is my responsibility. It is with a sad heart that one more brave soul that I know has passed away. NCO Brandon Moore came from Lumberton North Carolina. When I met him, he was nothing more then a piss in the wind private. I still remember the last time I saw him before i left active duty. He got so drink he quite litterly shit his pants passed out on the bathroom floor. Brandon came from a broken home. Just another Black man who's father barely acknowledged his exsistance. Joining the military was the best decision he ever made because it gave his life direction and meaning. When is mother called me last night to inform me of his death, I could not believe it. But I know in my heart that he died protecting something that he firmly believed in. While sectarian violence in Iraq is far from anything we can call pacified it has definitely tailed off as we get closer to Ramadan. It appears troop levels are not going to drop off any time soon. It even appears that 12,000 US troops are going on the offensive against Al Qaeda in Northern Iraq. I dont care who gets nominated for either side, im voting for whoever is fiscally conservative and strong on domestic issues. I dont give a damn about the rest of the worlds problems, its time for America to look to its own for a while and stop trying to fix everyone elses defects. Socially I would prefer more center or left leaning, I dislike candidates who have religious leaders in there ear. that whole seperation of church and state thing i take seriously. And pro gun. I hold that at a near sacred level.

Not to knock the original poster but this is a fairly infantile argument. Yes, some people do have more opportunities to become a successful member of society (as we see it). But ultimately are responsible for our own well being. If you do not like your surroundings do something about it. I know plenty of Poor Ghetto folk who joined the military got out and went to school for practically free after there enlistment was up. Is that for everyone? Probably not. But they fought through 5 years or so of hardship and MADE them self successful. Success is earned it can not be given. I believe in the bible it says "Give a man a fish he will eat for a day, Teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime." Now I know that’s taken out of syntax, but I believe that applies to life. You can't force someone to be successful by giving them handouts; ultimately they will just resent it and not believe in themselves. But showing someone that they can do it even if they have to overcome tough odds will reshape a person for life. My 2 cents.

The United states military has not killed a million people. That number most likely goes back to the beginning of the Iran Iraq war. Which many liberal or even some conservative websites don't tell you. They like those big numbers that if you actually analyze probably would end up around 20,000 KIA. Thats unsubstantiated but the last time i checked like 6 months ago, it was around 12,000 directly killed by US troops. Now we can argue all day about what sanctions from the 80's did but thats just a load of bullshit. Sadam could have easily fed his country, he just choose not to.

Its not how many have died, its how we get along with those that are still alive that counts. Have muslim and Jewish children been killed, YES. Show me a warzone where innocent people dont get killed and i will show you a war in heaven. However, there is a difference between delibertly putting children in harms way and accidently killing a child. The best way I have ever heard this conflict put boils down to human nature. "Put two people on a deserted Island and one will kill the other." I hate to say this, and I know many of you already believe it, this conflict will not end in are Grandchildren's lifetimes.
