Prediction: Poilievre will never be PM
Army Guy replied to Barquentine's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You were a CWO ,in an elite formation within the Air force, time to step up Chief...take the first step...thats what leaders do. -
I agree , but we are well past needing to get our sh*t together, almost all our major weapon systems are in desperate need of replacing, not to mention all the capabilities we have already lost, along with the experience to operate them. even if we went into crises' mode it would still take a decade to catch up... Carney talks a good game about building military equipment here in Canada, but we have let our military industrial complex erode more than our military has...not to mention how costly it is to build stuff in this country, just look at our frigate program and how prices have ballooned, The UK built an aircraft carrier for the price of just one of our frigates. S.Korea is building cruisers for only 2.5/ 3 bil a piece... What our military needs is new equipment , not providing Canadian jobs, or demanding offsets from companies to spend equal amounts of money in Canada....or lastly having some politician pick military equipment out...kind of like sending your wife out to buy your power tools...The F-35 is a prime example we could have been flying them today, if we had just let the politicians set the amount of funding available and let the Military pick the equipment it needs.....politicians have a poor record on buying terrible equipment, books have been written about all of it and yet it has not changed....we continue to buy from the cheapest bidder, or company that has brided our government with the most offsets..

Personally i think both of you should just get a room...either kiss and make up, or kill each other and save hundreds of pages of band width or put each other on ignore, saving the rest of us from scrolling pages upon pages to read the main post...Just a thought, putting some of my peacekeeping training to use...pistols at 10 yards, tonight at midnight, be there. -

Perhaps he will, or maybe he will stay on who knows...I'm glad to see all your interest in the conservative party, maybe your a closet conservative...Or maybe you should be concerned about your party the NDP which is a train wreck at the moment, no real leader, no party status, no nothing really.... just empty suits in a few empty chairs.... -
I wonder how much of that is mostly supported by federal tax funding, or how much does the fed spend to achieve your results you have provided...according the federal web site feds spend almost 30 bil each year on Indigenous support, not counting loans or grants for indigenous business last year accounted for over 5 bil... https://budget.canada.ca/2024/report-rapport/chap6-en.html https://sac-isc.gc.ca/eng/1731612400516/1731612419549

With all the problems we face in this country today, i don't see this as an issue we should be tackling right now....I also don't think our current education system spends a whole lot of time with civics that affect our nation, province etc...more time is put into other large lobby groups agendas like LGBTQ, or the palestinian plight etc.. I disagree with who better experts than the the current core we have now. I think our education system as a whole needs to be reset, instead of concentrating on issue that effects a small portion of the population and concentrate on real education, or real world skills like personal finance, money management, picking a relevant career path, issues that effects all Canadians.
-
We can't even get adults to understand the issues of this country, and now you want to add to the mix 16 years olds...how many are even going to use their votes, or take an interest in politics for that matter... what would political parties even pander to them with, no tax on candy, lowering the drinking age to 16, ......not to mention the bias of the education system which takes years of real life experience to reverse...

I thought Carney said that removing internal trade barriers will mean up to 200 bil more in GDP....And that bringing to life more National projects will also bring growth and add to future GDP...besides a lot of these social programs could be combined or trimmed down, even our welfare programs could be trimmed or combined, to save, Meanwhile in Europe they are preparing for war, as Russia builds it forces up along NATO borders, countries like the UK, France, Germany, are investing hundreds of billions before the new 5 % marker was introduced....they are in panic mode...here in Canada we are still on holidays, yes we announced 9 bil more in defence which will barely move any needles....if you look at where that money is going to go....Can you tell how excited the CDS is....not vary she knows this is mostly political and will anything change, she is as skeptical as the rest of the military is...which is very skeptical the forces have seen this before...over and over again....now maybe carney is going to fix all that, but if i was a betting man the odds are not very good...

Me, i have have kids in our military, who grew up with much different moral/ values than the average Canadian...that defending this nation and sacrificing for it use to mean something....and i do worry about their future...as for me i'm to jaded now to care... Most Canadians don't know conflict, there is no left or right in conflict, Canadians are so divided that all we do is argue with each other there is no nation with one people with one direction....we lack leadership, and what little leadership we do have is weak, and wants to divide us more than every....we are being pulled apart by special interest groups of every strip, so much so that we are being pulled in dozens of directions with limited resources....Our nation is dying, it has no purpose, it has no direction, and we will pull it apart....sooner than later....It needs common sense to come back to the people...it needs to regroup , reorg and start from scratch....or die and become these little pieces that will be absorbed by the US...
-
Then Canada should stop signing agreements it can not afford or maintain....it is really that easy....drop out and start paying for everything we need to defend ourselves....and to top it off the liberals just signed on to a new defensive agreement with the EU........we rode the last ride for free....nobody gave a shit...the new 5% mark is going to have consequences if we don't meet it...
-
Not sure what that even means, did we have to lose more for it to be significant ? or to be worth your time...in a few years those men and women who sacrificed everything will be forgotten....Shit you can't even remember what the Afghanistan war was about....don't take it personally most Canadians could not tell what the conflict was about, or for that matter what any of the conflicts have been about... If you don't know what for, it was all a moot point was it...and history will be doomed to repeat itself....Canada has done it for every major conflict we have been in, and still has not learned anything from any of them... "nobody" gets along thats the point, every since cavemen picked up a club Humans have been solving their problems with violence....
-
better...or just gullible to believe all this crap that goes on today. all it takes is a lobby group and poof, you can change how the world is run, we can change science, we can change almost everything...including history....had white people should have just said stop, thats nonsense, we would not be where we are today...everyone wants to be treated the same, but all we can do is pigeon hole everyone into little holes...

Not even the same questions , my poll was what voters intentions were if we had another election....Yours was approval rating....not the same issue..I voted for conservatives , but i do agree with the direction the country is headed in right now...does not mean i would change my vote....and in that regards both parties have lost ground... -
thanks herb, i knew you liked me more....

Actually 159 and 7 civilians died , along with an additional 360 deaths do to suicide attributed to that conflict....it goes to show that even though our government and military was unprepared for ANY conflict of that time, and is worse off right now, they were sent anyways.... Carney signs onto a new defensive pact with the EU, and while they prepare for WAR , we still have our pants down around our ankles with out junk hanging out...we are talking , it is what Canada does best, what our military does best is perform miracles with nothing...wears a nation prefer to bury our soldiers, than give them state of the art equipment that saves lives...Something Canadians take pride in...even joke about.... We always show up is the point, regardless of how we are equipped, or trained....your a history buff, what did our military look like at the beginning of WWI or WWII, or Korea... thousands of Canadian lives were lost due to this unpreparedness...it took years to catch up...and many lives...The next conflict will be fought by our sons and daughters, forced to man obsolete equipment and knowing all of this Canadians don't give a shit or we are not smart enough to understand what is going on in the world, what are we worried about, more social programs, and what can our government do for them..........and if they did we would not be in this situation....

I guess it depends on what tracker or group of people you interview....Numbers have not moved that much, in fact both parties have lost numbers.... https://abacusdata.ca/abacus-data-poll-post-election-first-poll/ -
Flyer....Not sure what you don't like about it, was it the source it is a CBC source approved by all those that voted left, actually a preferred source by the left.......was it the fact that you were spreading false news and got caught, i mean there is a lot of info out there to discredit anyone including PP you really don't need to make up stuff...and the fact it was not approved by the CBC is just sad, because they normally approve of anything that slanders the right in most cases.... You know it is really bad when taxme gives it a down arrow...i mean come on the local redneck/racist gives you the arrow you know you f*cked up some where....
-
Thats a lie PP net worth is not 25 million, not even close......thats false news.... https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/party-leader-networth-misinformation-ai-1.7498417 He is the leader of the official opposition party and is entitled to housing free of charge....you don't need a seat in the house to be party leader....So carney is not doing anything for him.... your not doing that well in the facts department....

And US intelligence has never been wrong before right ?I mean right off the topof my head i can think of a few times........And to be truthful you don't know that for a fact, on what intel the president used do you ? your guessing when we are dealing with facts your guessing...until you have proof your spewing your opinion.... -

And you know that how....your video....your inside man in Iran....what exactly....I would only guess that trump as access to more intel on this topic than anyone on the left....and did what he had to... Is anyone in the US talking about impeach mentor legal action...i didn't think so... Although i'm not a big fan of trump, kicking Iran in the nuts gets a standing ovation from most countries around the world... -
Donnie strikes three Iranian nuclear sites
Army Guy replied to West's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
you keep saying that...the threat is not imminent...and yet the US air force did not do a threat assessment of their own..you make it sound like trump woke up one day and pointed to a spot on the map...and told your air force to bomb it...I doubt very much you have aces to the latest US intel to make that assessment.... Again you think Iran keeps its nuclear files for the worlds to see. i mean why would they lie about that stuff. this is what your basing your argument on some published info on an open web site...i mean we are not learning how to build a garden shed on line this is nuclear weapons' we are talking about...it would have one of the highest security clearances you could get....anything else would be some guy guessing it all and declaring it fact....no common sense here at all... -

Why are there so many lefty's on here denouncing US military action on Iran....Is it because you hate Israel so much your willing to overlook how evil the Iranian regime is ... the same regime that used small children to demine mine fields in combat...or was it the fact they used children as assault troops during their conflict with Iraq..or maybe their support of dozens of terrorist groups all over the middle east to reek havoc everywhere they are...If there was one nation on the globe that deserved this kick to the gonads it is Iran...not sure why you or the rest of your gang is whining about, sit back and enjoy the show....grab so popcorn maybe this will be the next big hollywood movie starring Arnold, or sly...or just maybe bringing back Chuck Norris... -
Well if he did report it why not tell it to parliament what is he afraid off...., it is public knowledge of his holdings in real-estate. Why has he not taken rebel news and the other 20 media outlets that reported it to court for slander.... or has he come out to the media and denied it ....where there is smoke there is fire...and their is a lot of smoke...
-
It's not the fact that he owns investment properties, the fact is he failed to report it to the ethics commissioner... which is a breach of trust....Why is it that liberal Canadians think this type of behavior is normal or no big deal....These are the people that represent our nation and we ALL should expect them to be held to higher standards....and if that is to hard then why run for office.
