Native groups are just one group that live on funding from the state, here in the Maritimes we have huge groups of people on Welfare,a lot of these people are generational welfare recipients, capable of working but refusing to because the government gives them tax dollars to stay at home and do nothing......I get it some people in Canada need a helping hand up, which is what Welfare is all about, but to actually live off welfare for generations, that's just pure laziness. Welfare offers hundreds of programs to get people off of welfare such as further education, job training, the list goes on and on... It is good to see funding being investing into our Tank forces....I hope reading this article Canadians actually see some shortfalls....Tanks make up an important part of any Mechanized force, they are the tip of the spear..without them Infantry forces would be torn apart by any Armor force with tanks.... 1...the mention of Canada having a total of 74 tanks is misleading, 34 of those tanks LeoIIA4 are marked for "training only" they are not upgraded for any operational theater...please note the LeoIIA4 are exactly what we sent over to latvia...Did i mention "Training tanks" of the remaining 40, one Sqn (15 )are in Gagetown the remainder in Edmonton with 1 CMBG....Each Brigade is suppose to have a full Regiment of tanks 3 to 4 sqns between 48 to 54 tanks per... Note we have 3 Mechanized Brigades, we have 15 in one and 25 in another , with one Brigade with zero.... 2.... the amount of funding going into upgrading these tanks, is a lot...considering we only have 40 tanks that can be operational deployed....New LeoIIa8 tanks with everything we would every need and more are priced at 20 mil a copy...Makes you think, why not just buy new, 3...The Leopard 1C2 mentioned in storage, well this was addressed before in the media, they have been stored outside in the elements in Gagetown, forever, and it would take a large heap of money to bring them up and running...they sit rotting in a fenced in compound not touched since they were decommissioned...,

why not is a good question, it is much easier to distract Canadians than to actually fix what is broken...all the government has to do is yell squirrel...you can laugh but just look at the results, of these new programs...they look good from afar but get into the details and they are already broken before they even start... Herbie all you have to do is look around at all the already existing social programs, look at the condition they are in, and they all have one thing in common, lack of funding and Policies that are not conducive to good management...Instead of taking this new source of funding, (more debt) and fix the existing programs...take health care, where i don't know about BC but here in NB 3 people have died in the waiting rooms in the last 2 years....Premiers have begged for more funding and as a distraction we have several new social programs that are good ideas, but they are distractions , underfunded and will eventually become like our health care system....in crises mode....not sure why you can't see that, or even acknowledge it...we don't need New PROGRAMS WE NEED THE OLD ONES FIXED FIRST...I'd much rather have to wait 12 hours to see someone at the emergency room , and still be alive at the end of the day, than have day care or dental care for that matter....Day care is a good idea just no right now while everything around us is on fire...

First off, the 10 dollar a day care is a federal program with provincial assistance, both levels of government are responsible for it's operation....This was a Federal liberal government championed project, that seen Provincial ties to run it....Feds have been hoisted this program as a success... Not much of a success if child care facilities are opting out is it...for both liberal/NDP government and fords...this is not just laid at ford's feet....Federal idea, get someone to sign on to it then walk away, with no responsibility, come on...and then take credit for the entire program....
