  1. By themselves ! A nationalized system can do that when it benefits the people at almost no cost ! There are no fat gloabalists raking in the profits. Things run better that way and they run to benefit the people who rightfully own the resources. In Alberta they get 1% of the value of the oil - the fat globalists get the rest thats why we pay so much for gas. At no cost. Yeah right. You don't know what you are talking about. I live in Alberta. The 1% is for the oil sands plants, and that is only until they recover their capital construction costs, then it goes to 25%. Some facts for you. http://www.petro-canada.ca/en/media/296.aspx
  2. But you can't vote for Ron Paul even if you wanted to. Accordingly, let Americans vote as they please, if you don't mind, even if it means more Saurian powers, FEMA detention camps, death by fluoridated water, and the New World Order (sorry if I missed anything). Yeah little green men.
  3. Then it is heavily subsidized.
  4. ='Guthrie' date='Apr 21 2007, 03:55 PM' post='210669'] What a bunch of dopes.
  5. Right. There is no such thing as inovation or creativity. There is no such thing as conjuring up something out of thin air. The economy is all interrelated and all stems from the four core industries. The ones you would destroy along with some others that are close like steel, leaving you to conjure up your new products which like I said can't be done. If it could, it already would be.
  6. The infrastructure was badly run down because the Americans bombed the hell out of it. Why is it our business to save their infrastructure ? What was the result ? - no water, electricty in may areas. Don't let reality get in the way of your understanding of economics. ...what slave labour ? The Americans did not bomb the oil infrastructure. Reality won't get in your way of understanding economics and of how things are done because you have none. It takes a lot of labour to bring oil to market and lot to keep it flowing. Do you think those people work for nothing.
  7. We know you can because the Iraquis were before the Americans invaded. The only way you could do that is to have a good supply of slave labour and steal the materials needed. Or subzidise the hell out of it. Which is why the infrastructure was so badly run down.
  8. You have no idea what you are talking about. Where will you get the material for your so called new technologies and new products. Just like man made global warming which doesn't exist, neither will your new products.
  9. No, it seems that Dems don't want to finish what was started...same as the NDP and Grits in Canada (Afghanistan). Exactly and they have been undermining the war effort like traitors and calling it free speech.
  10. You can't produce it for that. They should be paying market value.
  11. and so it should be. When something is nationalized it is the confiscation of private assets. In other words theft.
  12. BS. The problem is that Saddam Hussein had nationalized everything and prevented the multinationals & IMF from comming in and taking over his country. Craziness.
  13. I think a lot of us would be interested in trading Quebec for Alaska.
  14. The civil war wasn't about slavery. It was about keeping the union together.
  15. 'Charles Anthony' date='Apr 21 2007, 08:14 AM' post='210531'] I believe most of our environmental problems are a direct result of the transportation industry. Reflexively, people find it absolutely normal to expect the State to subsidize transportation. You guys can make the logical connection. That's ridiculous. The tranportation industry has been carrying the country on its back for years. Something it is no longer prepared to do, and without it you would have nothing.
  16. By alienating moderate voters, and probably carrying only a few redneck hick counties. Who in their right mind would actually vote for a guy that's so ideologically right wing. Who did he alienate.
  17. 'Canadian Blue' date='Apr 21 2007, 03:39 AM' post='210509'] It's not a high death count. The americans lost six times the total count in one day, on many occasions in their civil war. For a total of around 630,000 Yeah while the white flag waving dems stab you in the back.
  18. No bid contracts and giant monopolies isn't real "capitalism". In order to bid there has to be a contract to bid on. They'll have an hourly or monthly rate for their men and equipment. Saddam had let the oil infrastructure get run down. There is no way of knowing exactly what had to be done until they could get in there and check it out out piece by piece. It would be a massive job of unknowns. Halliburton is not a monopoly but they do have the world wide resources to do the job. Enron was a good company until they over extened themselves with their natural gas holdings which couldn't be supported with the price.
  19. WTF are they putting in your water? Ceratainly not cool-aid.
  20. Then you would have to prove it. So far you and your atheist communist sites seem to prove you are birds of a feather.
  21. Even if those rumors were true and apparently there is no evidence, it doesn't change anything.
  22. Oh boy, the enemy from within.
  23. Link The secretary of defense over sees the war.
  24. Maybe we should be building pork artillery shells, and guns that shoot bacon strips.
  25. You have proven nothing at all.
