  1. I feel sorry for them, 44 years since they have been in a Cup final, 10 years since the playoffs....... pathetic.Oh and here is a headline: every Canadian rink sells out every game against every team. The Leafs being in town makes no difference whatsoever to revenue. It goes beyond strange. Their D should be dreadful when looked at objectively. Not many of them would make another NHL team. Potter is a career AHL guy, and Petry and Peckham belong in the AHL for now -they would not make any other NHL team. Barker is a failed prospect, Gilbert might be #4 on any other team, Smid is a solid shutdown 5/6 guy, and Whitney might be top three on a playoff team. Strange days indeed.I have to admit I though Smyth was a wate of money and a waste of a top 6 forward spot, but I was wrong. He adds so much to the spirit and style. I don't think Renney really wants Hemsky back just yet.....
  2. My member is the same age as all the rest of me.
  3. You might want to leabe instructions/funds in your will for your great grandchildren in that regard. They could PVR the series and forward it to your celestial home. Yes, both goalies are playing well. Kahbibulin is no James Reimer, but he does have a Cup, a world championship, a couple of Olympic medals and four alstar appearances. The Oilers have turned their game on its head, they are not winning on golatending so much as great team defense and much improved special teams. Don't hold your breath. Lupul has looked this good on a few teams already in his short career. No, they are not. It is this type of bland arrogance that causes so much of Canada to actively loathe the Leafs and wish them ill.'Canadas team' appears once per year at the World Championships, once per year at the World Juniors and once every four years at the Olympics. And I cannot rememeber the last time it had a Leaf on any of those teams.
  4. Right on brother. Harper has just got started on his program to end abortion, repeal same sex marriage, destroy public health and education, force mandatory Church attendance and get a photo of Harper shaking hands with Jesus into every post office in the country. Any day now.
  5. Are numbers different in English and French? Doesn't Quebec use 0 through 9 too?
  6. Did you think Hiroshima and Nagasaki were holograms?
  7. Unfortunaetly, you do not have the focus provided by the Holocaust. Israel wil not allow themselves to be annihilated by anybody, and Iran with nuclear weapons and delivery systems is a real and present danger in that regard.
  8. allow me to introduce wyly, he does it about once a week.
  9. And that is not an isolated view in Iran. They take their duty as Fist of Allah seriously there, as they have since the Islamic Revolution in the 70s. The only level of evidence that would satisfy you is a few megatons detonated over Tel Aviv, correct? The unwavering rhetoric of Irans leaders about wiping out Israel, and their massive support of Israels enemies as their proxies would not sway you either.
  10. The nomination of Ferguson is a disgrace. The new AG should be bilingual, Liberal-friendly and one of the many unemployed in Canada. Hiring an unemployed person is an important gesture in these troubled economic times. How about Chuck Guite?
  11. It is more or less inevitable. Whenever Israel determines that Iran is close to having the capability to attack Israel with nuclear weapons, they won't have much choice but to destroy that capability. What other choice is there for them, Iran is sworn to drive the Jews from the Middle East. Iran already funds Hamas and Hezbollah, but nuclear puts the game into another dimension. Iran is unlike any othe nuclear power in that they are the Hand of Allah, or more like The Fist. Mutually Assured Destruction won't stop the current or future leaders of this regime from acting insanely. USA and Yurp won't do anything to stop it, Europe is also threatened by these loons.
  12. Equalization agreements will be on the federal/provincial negotiating table soon. This will be fun fun fun.
  13. Interesting but not surprising that you would tell only part of the equalization story. Shame on you.
  14. I don't know whether or not he had an official birth record. Given the nature of where he is from(which is Punjab, not India), it is certainly possible. What I understand is that he did not produce an acceptable proof of age. There are two potential reasons for this: he does not have one and therefore cannot provide it, or he has one and chooses not to provide it. Either one is possible.
  15. How many Liberal politicians or Party leaders went to jail? Refresh my memory.
  16. The date of creation of India as a nation is not an opinion. Neither is the relative wealth of Punjab, or the fetish for records. The level of bureaucracy in India is staggering for a Westerner. You are welcome to believe otherwise. Your faith in what you see on the Internet or on CBC is heartwarming.
  17. Because the people who provided the data on their private lives to the federal government did not agree to the disclosure of that info to anybody else for any other purposes, other than those specified when the data was collected..It is a legitimate privacy issue. It is also useless inforamtion for the province, just as useless as it was when the feds collected it. The registry database is perhaps half populated, since so very many gun owners simply ignored the registry.
  18. It would be very surprising if India kept them, since the country did not exist as a nation until 1947. Who knows what they did in Punjab, one of the wealthiest areas of the country before and after the nation was established.Lineage is important to Sikhs.
  19. With all the ongoing turmoil in Libya, maybe the Hamas leadership of Palestine would be willing to also take over Libyas place in the UN Human Rights Commission. It is a natural segue.
  20. Perhaps, perhaps not. Ever been to India? There is no other place on earth with a greater love for paper of all sorts, official records and record keeping. It is a nation of bureaucrats, they love it there. There are forms for everything imaginable and entire buildings full of them and their keepers. So I do not concur automatically that there are no birth records, I think it highly probable there is a record, perhaps in many copies. It is also possible that it cannot be found.
  21. Never been too far from the 49th parallel, have you? When ground temps are -50, it is anything but a moot point. Metal, plastic, humans.... none of them work worth shit at low temps. Everything breaks. And airships too.
  22. Of course, churches and private charities did exactly the same thing in reverse in previous generations.
  23. only because the bikers run into well protected car drivers.Bolt those drivers seats to the front bumper and you will see some seriously cautious driving.
  24. The only problem I have with the beaver is its association with....well.... you know.
  25. That may hold the forum record for 'Largest Strawman In An Introductory Paragraph" Well played.
