Besides being pretty unfunny... This link explains the reasoning and I think it makes sense and is not a knee jerk response to an issue. http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/stor...13609_103899113

Hmmm.. pretty weak. Nothing like Grewal lying his arse off, these two things aren't even remotely similar. Give us a break. Ohhhh... and did you forget about this thread August? http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums/index.p...wtopic=3223&hl= http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/stor...?hub=TopStories Shame on you.

By-elections are not usually won by the opposition. It depends entirely on where the by-election is being held. And if the Conservatives at thirtysome percent suffered a "crashing defeat" what can we say about the NDP at 10%? Miserably pathetic, perhaps? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Come on.. given the climate, if the conservatives were going to make any ground they would have crushed... ESPECIALLY in a rural area such as Labrador. I too think an by election in Aurora Newmarket would be won handily by Stronach Like the new Liberal election lawn signs say (and I am sorry for this..) The only Conservative bone in Stronachs body belonged to McKay! (I can hear the groans, boos and tsk tsks from here... HEY! I said I was sorry)

It is bad enough that we have to accept an aparthied-like system in Canada which gives special rights to people based on thier race. It is a mistake to create new 'races' in order to hand out even more entitlements. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Huh, create new races? Why don't we try settling their (First Nations) land claims before we complain about them? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The metis are not a race of any kind. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yopu guys really need to take a good hard look inside of yourselves and try to locate a sense of humour... geesh.

More Racist Remarks By Conservatives
Shakeyhands replied to bigdude's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
But she was smart enough for the Cons at one time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The cons were at least smart enough to keep her as a backbencher, not make her one of the most important ministers in cabinet, with sweeping resposibilities well beyond her abilities. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I find this hilarious, she was fron and center when she was of use to the Conservatives, presenting a more moderate (and female) picture for young Conservative voters... hilarious, if Harper crossed I suppose you'd say he was dipstick and a whore too... My money says she whoops whoever she is up against in her riding the next go round. Oh... and also... you Cons will still be bitter about it. -
Evidence of Liberals attempting to Purchase People
Shakeyhands replied to I miss Reagan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Is there a full transript printed on some secret conservative site that you need to share with us? And isn't "Liberal Spin" copyrighted to our friends at Faux News? -
Where are our resident Right Wingers? I'd be interested t hear IMR and Augusts take on this question....

Fear mongering in the last election. (Liberal lies) Conservatives will buy air craft carriers They will ban abortions Quebec will separate because Conservatives are not popular there They will privatize health care The country will spilt because they will give provinces to much power The evil corporations will get big tax cuts They will get rid of all arts programs Economic development programs will be cut ECT......................... Liberals have this down to an art, including the fake outrage when something is claimed of them. I heard a Liberal commentator explain how this can be yesterday on the CBC. The Liberal party is very good at adapting. So when the polls change or the decision gets tough they adapt. Note the GST, Young offender act, SSM ect.. How about the whole 93 red book. They don't adapt they lie and they are very good at it. Martin not a good as Jean. As was show in the press gallery last week when he was talking with a straight face the press gallery was in stitches. This is not good for our democracy and Liberals should not through rocks in glass houses. Our country is in danger, if this government is not taken to task. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah but these are truths as opposed to lies to win a byelection....

If the Liberals win the next Election...
Shakeyhands replied to Dan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What's the plan? Jump out and roll the first guy you see who looks too "red-neck" for your liking? Brilliant. You are a shining beacon of the enlightened Canadian values you profess to defend. Of all the stupid posts in this stupid thread, yours is probably the stupidest. Congratulations, you win the prize. Remember to wear your Legion hat and your WWII medals so people know you're a "bad-ass". -k {...picturing Paul Revere mounting up and riding through the streets of Edmonton shouting "The Idjits are coming! The Idjits are coming!" ...one if by car, two if by VIA rail.} <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yeah cause I was serious Kimmy... s-a-r-c-a-s-i-m.... I suppose the civil war stuff didn't qualify as stupid? whatever... -
If the Liberals win the next Election...
Shakeyhands replied to Dan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Huh? My guess is you won't touch it and neither will the Conservatives until the get into power (God forbid) and then a private members bill will most certainly refresh your memory and spur all into action... I'm sorry, if you aren't opposed to gay marriage from a religious perspective why would you have an issue with the wording? For an unreligious person semantics would be the only issue? Correct? Far and away my favourite quote. Just so you know, there are rural areas all over this great land, and our Government maintains these, not sure of your point. And perhaps I don't understand the whole scenario, but why would the Federal government care about oil development? Does the revenue generated not all stay in Alberta (I'm really asking here..) I assume I am not misreading your sarcasim at the end. Albertans (the few like you ) need to stop their freakin' cryin. For Gods sake. You sound like a bunch of American conservat..... OHHHHH! I get it now. Revolution? I'd gladly drive out to personally kick some Albertan ass. I really would. Give us a break and sit down. -
More of that liberal tolerance we are so accustomed to. BTW, I'm curious why you 'usual suspects' are so concerned about the well being of the CPC? Why is it that you want Harper to resign, and want us to basically become the Liberal party by being more 'progressive'. If we're indeed so extreme wouldn't it suit you guys better to remain such so as to alienate us from Canada even more so? No, the truth is you're scared to death of us getting into power. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Of all that was said above, this is the best you could come up with? A pick on Liberal tolerance? Makes sense to me because the Conservaties have shown themselves to be an extremely tolerant bunch in general... Riiiight. And you're right, we are scared to death of Harper getting into power, I'm sure not for the reasons you think however.

Evidence of Liberals attempting to Purchase People
Shakeyhands replied to I miss Reagan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I think Grewal is full of it. Obviously its an entrapment attempt. It almost soaunds Roveish and doesn't surprise me a bit. But as usual you rightwing people will jump at this and turn it into another thing that is repeated os often it becomes fact by repitition -
If the Liberals win the next Election...
Shakeyhands replied to Dan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I'd buy into defending Canada in the event of such an action... Luckily its a very small minority (so small I have a hard time even calling it that) that thinks along such lines Bro... anyway... Rant on. -
Newsweek bends over
Shakeyhands replied to Black Dog's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Exactly... Couldn't agree more. -
Agreed, I can't imagine that someone who is worth Millions upon millions has to be that much of an "opportunist" A weak comment from a weak would be leader. Again it shows him for what he really is.
-
Absolutely brilliant... truthfully, if she had won the leadership of the CPC I think they would have won the last election, she's a moderate and I think will make an excellent Liberal. Good for her and stinging indictment of harper to boot.
-
IMR, I find it hilarious that you say the Liberals get a pass when they point out the blatently obvious? There are a fair number of fanatical neo cons within the CPC that are demonstrably bigoted and racist, this is exactly why they are unfit to lead. As far as Harper stating that Pual Martin is in Pro Child Porn... its just another indicator of how power starved he is. Dispicable.
-
Thats right, the times are a changing, perhaps its time to let this go to another referendum in Quebec (within the rules of the Clarity Act) and then be done with the bending over by the rest of the country. This is not a Liberal thing or a CPC thing or even a Bloc thing, however I can tell you that there is only one party named above that truely represents Canadian unity. Guess which one, guess ehich one is not a regional party. Guess which one is (still) most fit to govern. We're all going to hear how evil the Liberal party is in the coming months, how corrupt they are, although I am still trying to figure out how some junior ranking party beaurucrats that by the way will be charged criminally, are a reflection on a gov't that has served this country well for the last decade, guiding us through a colossal change in the world. Can you imagine if Harper had been in charge in the lead up to the War in Iraq? or was in charge of Healthcare? or dealing with Quebec during the Referendums? THATS scary.

Message for My French Candians Friends

What a wonderful basis for the existence of a country. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly August... Imagine two seperatist parties running things... oops, one seperatist and the Western run CPC. -
The "Can't we all just get along?" Thread
Shakeyhands replied to ScottBrison's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Ummm.... bad one, but sorry I didn't think of something similar using Harper and the Gay Klan Guy... -
Please explain why the reelection of the Liberals would cause a crisis? Would the Seperatists be upset and vote for the Bloc? And would the Western Seperatists vote for the CPC? Oh dear...

Will the government fall tonight?
Shakeyhands replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Question is, will Harper and Duceppe have the cajones to vote against the budget in order to bring the Gov't down? Me thinks that would be a mistake.
