  1. Decriminalization means that possession of marijuana would still be "illegal", but would be punished by way of a small fine...like with a traffic ticket. Legalization would of course put it in the same status as alcohol...still some rules and regs, but otherwise fully legal to possess. Of course, the current position being put forth by the feds would be to decriminalize possession of only small amounts (under 30 g). Growing and trafficking would still be criminal offences. FTA Lawyer <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There fore taxable like cigarettes or alcohol.... interesting.
  2. PR. And always a pleasure to speak with you. BTW, what happened to "The Kimmy Party"???? Elections coming up. Better gear up the campaign <{POST_SNAPBACK}> eh. Leadership issues and internal squabbling. Anonymous members bitching to the Toronto Star. You know. I'm actually considering joining a new party. Click here for details! -k <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is that you Kimmy? funny pic anyway.
  3. decriminalization of MJ makes more sense to me than legalization.
  4. Why on earth would you lump together the data derived from the first two response categories and not the last two response categories? You either coalesce similar sentiment or you do not. If you choose not to, then you see the highest category by far is the belief that the US cannot win the war in Iraq.Let us review the results again in an attempt to ascertain whether I and CNN are being honest or not. This time, I strongly suggest that you ask someone to help you follow along using a sock puppet (we will call him "Mr. Wizard") and by stacking Lego blocks (it might give you the much needed visual). % who believe the US will definitely win 21% % who believe the US will probably win 22% Total % of those who think the US will win 43% % who believe the US will probably not win 20% % who believe the US cannot win 34% Total % of those who think the US will not win 54% Now, if you stack 43 blue Lego blocks beside 54 red Lego blocks, you will see that the red Lego blocks are taller! And if you stack 100 yellow Lego blocks beside the 43 blue Legos, you will see the 43 blocks are less than half the way up. "Mr. Wizard" should be nodding at this point. Just make sure your Lego are the same size though you silly Billy. You make it sound as though I am colluding with CNN. If we all agree that a half = 50%, and that 43% is less than a half, then the title "Poll: Fewer than half think the US will win in Iraq" is a very accurate description of the data gathered. Ergo, your attack on my integrity has once again been easily refuted. Here's an idea Burns, if you don't want sarcastic responses, stop questioning my honesty. It is poor manners to do so in case you did not know. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> bwahahaha.... Now THAT was funny.... and mathematically correct!
  5. Please to explain the 'lickin' I too only saw Bill try to intimidate. At no point did Bill even try to offer an answer to any of Donahue's questions or points. I hardly see it as a lickin and do see it as Bill not being interested in dealing in facts. pretty sad really
  6. obviously Karl Rove....
  7. No good? It's great. The US taxpayers are subsidizing Canadian consumers. That means we can buy ethanol, corn oil, corn sugar and meat and chicken more cheaply - all thanks to American taxpayers. If an American sent you a coupon for a free night at the local Hilton, would you refuse? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What of those Canadian farmers that are impacted by the subsidized US goods?
  8. Divided up it actually is pretty reasonable. I take customers out for lunch and dinner quite often and the bills are regualrily into the $400 to $500 range... Entire Article
  9. Did you have to include "redneck homophobes" in your post? Why not just "members"? It's pretty ironic that in a post where you complain about the bigotry of others and call for bannings you would choose to include your own slurs, and thereby risk your own exile. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You are quite correct. I withdraw it.
  10. this is a pretty disgusting thread and those members that are making this a matter of Pettigrews sexuality, whatever it may be, should be: 2) ashamed of themselves and 2) banned from this site for showing their true colours. Disgusting.
  11. Hmmm.. Yup, you're deluded.NK has done the exact same thing how many times before? Burns, please pull your head out of Bush's rectum and look around, whilst doing that, try to take in a little reality.
  12. Mirror is no longer on the forum, so I will direct my comments to you. I would not like guns banned because I know that the bad guys would not turn in their guns. I have grandparents that live on an isolated farm and I am glad that Grandpa has guns for protection. Don't you remember what happened when the UK banned handguns? Their robbery and break-in rate went up 60% because (surprise!) the bad guys never turned in their guns. Now their citizens are disarmed and are at the mercy of the bad guys who are not so leery of breaking into homes - unlike the US where the bad guys are leery of breaking into homes for fear of not knowing what the homeowner has for protection. Indeed many of their shooting incidents come from people protecting their home. When a govt disarms its population - be aware. One of the first things Hitler did was disarm the German citizenry. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Besides really twisting some facts to support your argument, you are wrong on the Hitler statement. My guess is, based on the sorts that trot that one out, is that it is some sort of NRA bunk, along with how safe Switzerland is because they have to own guns there. Pure bunk. I'll tell you what, if none of us had guns, why would you need to protect your self again? I've never felt unsafe anywhere in Canada. Can't say I can say the smae thing about the US. Too many idiots there with weapons and the wrong attitudes.
  13. Would it be possible to post a link or perhaps two to these studies that prove Liberal bias? I know I for one would enjoy reading one. Thanks.
  14. Burns, if you for a second think that you can credit Bush for this than you are seriously deluded. The only thing you can thank him for was staying out of any talks. The N. Korean people are starving, they played chicken with the big bad US and in my opinion won.
  15. well nothing wrong with a little bit of self rpomotion and whetting the appetites of those that would actually buy such a book.... But I think it in better taste to actually wait until you are out of the role and have given the new person time to settle in...
  16. Oh Kimmy... it is tasty, melts on your tongue....
  17. I'm sure that the article is exagerated.
  18. We were definately involved in the Gulf War and yes Jean Chretien was our Prime Minister.
  19. Had we stayed out of Iraq or invaded with a REAL coalition, there would be NO STRAINS on our Military. Bush KNEW that! Here's what he said when applying to the American People for the job of Commander in Chief... Where's the OUTRAGE? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think its pretty much been proven that Bush will/would say anything to get in power. And like most politicians promises and such go right out the window, shouldn't be that big of a surprise. Same deal with Harper, I laugh everytime I see one of his new healthcare ads, I know as soon as he gets in that we will have 2 tier healthcare to look forward to... Same old, same old.
  20. The fact that there was a hearing means that he was impeached. Look it up in the dictionary. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok I have, there was an Impeachment hearing and despite the witchhunt, he was aquited therefore not impeached.
  21. The government is responwsible because 5 of the top 8 men in FEMA were political appointees who knew nothing about disaster managment, for screwing up its response, and for slashing funds meant to reinforce and upgrade flood protection. Is that hard to understand? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No it's not hard to understand how a lot of people jump on the political bandwagon against the government at a time like this. It just doesn't make sense to me why. It'a counterproductive. There's pork all over the place in every government, including soft appointments. Tell me the next government won't be turfed if there's a meteor strike in Alaska and it's found that they weren't totally prepared for it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The fact was that FEMA didn't respond for days after the extent of the damage and seriousness was known. The President was too busy vacationing and getting nice guitars from Country Singers to worry too much about it and get off his duff as well... sad really, as well as being unexcusable.
  22. Clinton had an impeachment hearing but was not impeached.
  23. As I read this, Bush is now quoted that he takes responsibility for the delay in Federal Assistance. I also read that he intends to address the Nation from NO LA. My bet is that he places the blame solely at the feet of Brown and plays the sympathetic "I would have done better but Brown lied about his qualifications" card. $10 anyone?
  24. Classic example of a rabid anti-Bush loonie. Thank you for proving my point. You're offically deemed irrelevant as are your "opinions", not to be mistaken from Moveon.org talking points. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A classic case of Bush Derangement Syndrome. Bush wears cowboy boots. Oh, the horror! Did you notice he never said what channel broke the Bush DUI story days before the 2000 election? The *cough* Fox *cough* News *cough* Channel. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The only thing you could come up with in response to that is Cowboy boots? Who cares who broke the story on the DUI... The Republicans pulled the wool over the worlds eyes with this guy.
