  1. The same place they got the idiot government who made a deal so she'd get out at all. Shit what party was in power in Ontario when that happened? Oh Yeah the NDP!!!!!!!!!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought it was the judges that do the sentencing in Canada or am I mistaken here? Do you even know who the judge was and who appointed he or she to the bench? Somehow I doubt it. Nice drive by slur although sentencing is not what is being discussed on this thread. It is this Liberal Senator's behaviour that is at issue here. Very, very bizarre to say the least.
  2. Willy has a point. This forum, and I include myself here, would be a lot more productive if we focused on the issues rather than using putdowns or derogatory descriptions of people or political parties we oppose.
  3. Your poll is absurd. We have restrictions placed on us in many different areas of our lives and there is no reason to expect that health care should be exempted.
  4. Karla Homolka Receiving Moral Support From Liberal Senator Great work senator!
  5. Liberal MP Calls for Senator to Resign This is starting to get very ugly.
  6. A link? Why would he post a link? All that would do is show how his diatribe lacks any connection to reality. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This must be your idea of Liberal substance - how very sad and pathetic to waste people's time with such crap!
  7. By-the-way if you look at this Strategeic Council poll and compare the numbers to the June 2004 election, the Liberal are DOWN 3%, the Conservatives are DOWN 4% and the NDP is up 3.5%.
  8. MacKay says Tuesday votes may force election I know he must be despndent about losing his main squeeze to the Liberals but is MacKay that depressed that he has a death wish? All signs at the moment point to a disaster for the Cons if we were to have an election any time soon, and yet here we have this poor fellow suggesting the government could fall. As a matter of fact things are so bad for the Cons that there is a good likelyhood that MacKay will lose his own seat in the next election.
  9. My assessment: Liberal: La Presse Globe Star CanWest except National Post CTV CBC TV CBC Radio Conservative: National Post Global TV Social Democrat - French Le Devoir Social Democrat - English Oops! Unbiased media my ass. As I have already stated on another thread people are looking for at least a wee bit of substance here and you are one of the main perpetuators of little or no substance to any of your posts.
  10. Such a change would make the wheeling and dealing of the last few weeks look tame in comparision. The party system has flaws but it is necessary to have a stable gov't. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mythology without a shred of evidence to back up your claim. Anyone else looking for a little substance here?
  11. FINALLY! It's good to see someone else agrees. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> At the present time the vast majority of Canadians would probably agree with this approach to politics as well.
  12. So now we have an unelected but Canadian taxpayer funded Liberal senator supporting Karla Homolka. Of all the brain-dead activities that politicians have recently been engaged in, resulting in the Gomery commission, and the Ethics Commissioner investigating the Liberal vote-buying scandal, this one looks like it takes the cake. Where do they get these people anyways?
  13. Isn't this pretty much exactly the kind of thing Greg was bitching about in his last letter? These idiotic mass insults directed at one party or another? I mean, this one isn't even clever. It looks like it was written by a smarmy high school boy. And admired and posted by someone of the same apparent maturity level. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And yet folks who post here are quite prepared to label Canada's mainstream political parities as fascist or communist, even though it is apparent they don't even know the difference between the two terms. And this is acceptable?
  14. I think it has a lot to do with Canada's, very biased in favour of the federal Liberals, mainsteam media. If one does a scientific analysis of news reporting in this country it is apparent theat the media treat the Liberals with kid gloves compared to any other party. I am not sure how this originated, and whether or not this constant threat of Quebec separation has created it, or has something to do with it, but it is there in its splendor for all to see. Anyone who is not Liberal in this country is treated for the freaks we are by our media.
  15. Canada's Switchboard Reading a good cross section of the comments makes one realize how much this issue has damaged both the Conservatives & the Liberals, and also it is evident that it has relaced Gomery as the overriding scandal for this, Canada's 38th Parliament. The release of these tapes has exposed to Canadians what really goes on in the corridors of power in Ottawa, and it is odious to say the least. This time the boys have been caught red-handed with their hands in the cooke jar, and all Canadians know it by now. Watch for another drop in the percentage of eligible voters voting next time we go to the polls in Canada. Like Canadians are really going to listen or believe anything Canada's Health Minister Dosanjh has to say from now on, including his stating that our medicare system isn't in jeopardy. Right.
