  1. That was the exact word that I was thinking when I clicked on this thread.
  2. Me thinks you are a hypocrite <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OMG!! The NDP are being taken over by extremists!!!!
  3. I don't think that Harper hates Canada at all. I DO think that Martin hates anyone who disagrees with his God-given right to rule.
  4. This still ignores the average non-farmer that lives in rural-Canada (check a map, there are alot of us) who has to travel to obtain essential goods and services. I am astonished at how "city-centric" this idea is and find the anti-rural bias to be short sighted, poorly considered and offensive.
  5. Hmm...A tax cut that treats everyone equally; the wealthy, the poor, individuals, small businesses and large corporations. It can't be a good thing.
  6. My original membership began 22 March 04, but I don't remember the password and have changed email accounts since then.
  7. Good thoughts, but I take some exception to the Liberals talking points. If you turn back the clock 15 years or so, you'll notice that no one was talking about tax cuts and a balanced budget except for the Reform party. Once Manning generated enough pressure, the Liberals co-opted his themes. Is Martin a brilliant economist or does he just know how to steal good ideas (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).
  8. Your 10 cent/litre additional Fuel tax is profoundly anti-rural where public transit is non-existant and people must travel distances to obtain many goods and services. Why do you cater to the cities and ignore the realities of Canadian geography? Or are we all supposed to move to the already overburdened cities?? Your policy would be a death blow to many many rural communities.
  9. Given the Liberal track record and the corruption that Gomery has exposed, it is just as likely that the Liberals leaked the information to their friends in exchange for campaign kickbacks. I can hear hoofbeats and I'm thinking horse not zebra.
  10. Its all about checks and balances. Probably scares the hell out of the Liberal establishment.
  11. It would replace political interference and the authority would come from Parliment. And no, its not an indictment of the RCMP. If anything it would bolster their authority when working on politically charged cases.
  12. So much for Paul Martin as the Messiah of Medicare
  13. This is where it gets silly for me. If a 44 year old having sex with a 14 year ld is so heinous, what makes that same 44 year old having sex with a 16 year old any better? The two year increase seems like such a half measure. Maybe we should adopt the following formula for determining age of consent: A= X/2+7 (where X is your age) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ultimately its not much better. But given facts on child development and ego development 16 is less obscene than 14. Black Dog, how can you support the Liberal position on this? You are in a socially and morally untenable position. You can admit that Martin was wrong on this and still be a Liberal.
  14. Clearly you don't have children. I'm a Father and I work in Child Protection. There are alot of skeevy pervs (technical term) and alot of mixed up kids. These are undeniable facts. And it should be illegal for some 44 year old to take advantage of a "consenting" 14 year old. Any other position is heinous.
