Just think, Iggy will be teaching those kids well and helping forge their minds to defeat Conservatists..

You know for all of the right wing's bitching about the media being predominantly left leaning, they must not be counting the numerous radio talk shows like Adler's or pretty much the majority of 640 Toronto and 1010 CFRB's lineup which definitely pro-Conservative. Not to mention that other than the Star which is moderate to left of centre, the Post, G&M and Sun all lean right. CTV is definitely not left leaning.

And not so surprisingly, No charges to be laid. Fantino's boys always cover up for their own. Cons helping cons. If the notebooks were police property and he kept them for himself or for a third party, isn't that theft? This "investigation" is typical of the joke of a response which results whenever cops investigate cops. http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/story/2011/05/05/pol-layton-opp.html

Disappearance of Auditor General's Report
Rick replied to amorris1123's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You can bet that the report will get buried or if released at all, it'll be on a Friday night after hours when everyone's gone home for the weekend so it doesn't make the headline news. -
Tragic? Hardly. It's just one less Conservative vote next time around. That's a good thing in the bigger picture for Canada.

Harper's a meglomaniac. He won't be able to contain himself and keep in mind that his base has long been clamouring for drastic change that he could not give them in a minority government. For them, there can be no more excuses as to why he cannot give them, the radical right, the changes that they desire.

Your rights and freedoms. I hope all the idiots who voted for Harper will enjoy life living in a religious police state.
-
Well congratulations to the idiots and moronic fools who voted for Harper and his worthless waste of skin. You all deserve the screwing and trampling of your freedom and democratic rights that you're going to get. The only hope left for this country is that many of the old ignorant Conservative voting fools will have dropped dead 4 years from now and there will be something left of this country for Jack to rebuild.

The right wing is already fractured.Just take a look at the 'Principled Conservative' freepers who now despise Harper and are voting either Liberal or Christian Heritage. Or the Wild Rose Albertans on a simply provincial level who have abandonded the Alberta Conservatives to move even further to the right...

The Star nailed it which is why it continues to be the one paper worth reading.
-
So your friends are loons... well there's a shock.Danny Williams had it right when he came up with the ABC theme to get rid of a liar like Harper.
-
While I enjoy an election campaign along with the rhetoric that goes with it (don't all political junkies?)and can't wait to see Harper's demise... If I hear the phrase 'Let me be clear' spoken again anytime soon... There'll be pain and suffering...
-
Because according to a report on the CBC panel this morning there are very strong rumours floating around out there concerning Julian Fantino's possible involvement since he has ties to both both police forces and his current bosses at the Conservative party would most definitely stoop to this type of smear politics... Layton found nude in massage parlour!
Rick replied to Mr.Canada's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well it's fairly clear that the Harper Conservatives and their media wing (Sun news) are now in a full blown smear campaign against Jack Layton. I hope the Conservatives get exactly what they deserve...the same outcome that the smear campaign against Rob Ford produced.. On overwhelming rallying of voters turning on those who instigated the smear campaign and supporting the victim. -
Realistically, how big a majority could Layton get?
Rick replied to Harry's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So Harper's tax credit for kids fitness was nothing but a gimmick too then right?Along with all of the other tax credits, art, home renovation etc.. or should I say gimmicks (your word) he handed out...? -
Minorities work fine, under better leadership
Rick replied to Harry's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You obviously haven't been paying attention to all of the reports from dramatically increased turnouts at the advanced polls..Educate yourself -
Minorities work fine, under better leadership
Rick replied to Harry's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Precisely Topaz and all the more reason why you're seeing the increased voter turnout and people turning to Jack Layton, someone they can believe in and trust to make parliament work.Canadians know Harper is the problem and things will not change until Harper is gone. -
Conservatives would create Office of Religious Freedom
Rick replied to Rick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So what you're saying then is... it'll be a state run Ministry of Religious Propoganda. It certainly would fall right in line with everything 'Dear Leader' Harper stands for.. -
Dear Hardcore Tory Supporters
Rick replied to nittanylionstorm07's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Why do hardcore Conservatives have such a hard time accepting the truth? Excellent topic nittany... spot on in your analysis too. -
Realistically, how big a majority could Layton get?
Rick replied to Harry's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So just how big did Harper's nose grow when he was saying that? The next time Harper listens to what everyone's saying will be the first time. But you're right, he's begging now that his pompous ass is about to be kicked to the curb by Canadians who have had enough of his act. Good riddens to trash... -
Well if Mrs Dion's got any influence on this... they'll be going NDP... Source

Harper, clearly sensing that the chances of turning his minority government into a majority might be fading, also opened the door to compromise with the opposition in order to stay in power.
