And now he can't travel to the states. Two of my friends, at different times years ago before 9-11 did a spur of the moment decision to fly to Vegas with their girlfriends. In Calgary, you pass through US customs at the airport before departure. The girlfriends were denied entry into the US because they had an impaired driving conviction. IMHO, N. Korea survived last time (the 50's) because the west was scared of what we then called Red China. That dog don't hunt anymore. The west right now could blast N. I've been paying Canadian taxes since 1962. Don't tell me I don't know taxes. The mis-named Fair Tax is wonderful. I have been a privately controlled Canadian corporation (PCCC) for about 22 years now. So I have been a GST registrant since it started. They have never audited me, although I must admit that I have been totally honest and haven't pushed the envelope at all. But fraud is easy to achieve, based on my aquaintences. Irrespective, an overriding GST type tax instead of all the others is the best alternative. Especially if you apply the Fair Tax based pre-bate.

Admittedly he said that in times of trouble, the fed should pump money into the system. But he also said that in the good times the fed should save up big surpluses, cash, bonds and other assets. I really don't believe that consumption, after a bit of an initial pause, would suffer. Our society is far too materialistic. So I buy wieners for $3.95 and pay 27% on that. The rich bastards buy filet at $35.99 and pay 37% on that. My kid buys a car across the back fence and pays zero, the rich bastard buys his brand new Merc and pays 27%. Works like a charm. What's wrong with that?
