I'm contrasting Harper's phoneyness to Iggy's non-cogisance. They are both totally wrong, and I can't vote NDPinko, so I hope to hell that either there is a decent independent in my riding, or the Green candidate isn't typical of them. The fallback position is to not vote for the first time in 45 years.

Perhaps because he is an Iggy? Harper is pissing me off with his "man of the people" schtick. But Iggy is a joke. He's never had a real job and don't know anything about the real world.

There is no way in the world that Canada should get a seat. Even more importantly there is no way in the world that Canada should try and get a seat. The UN is corrupt. Totally corrupt. The UN panders to Bongo-Bongo Land. Supporting the UN is counterproductive to the betterment of mankind.

My understanding of Libertarians vs. GOP is that the Libertarians don't do the family values, moral, no abortion, gays are icky shit. Just smarten up the economy but stay the **** out of my bedroom. The Tea Party is way to fractured to be able to be characterized.

The only Imam in the whole world, to the best of my knowledge, to catagorically condemn violence is some Islamic dude in Detroit. The rest plead about Islam being the religion of peace but bullshit. One to a gazillion. We lose. They need to be controlled.

Yet again, this isn't original, but I liked it. Christianity was brutal and awful and terrible and on and on. And it evolved over time. I have heard the theory that a similar thing will happen to Islam. But how many people will die, get their hands cut off, be stoned etc. before that happens?

Something I thought of many, many years ago, and I wonder if it isn't playing out for us now, is that all economies in the world are based on growth. The US, with all their unions and debt and all aren't growing anymore and are suffering. Growth basically requires a growing population, but I hate sounding like the dude who first predicted the world would overpopulate itself and we will all die (sorry, forgot his name) but it is happening. Water is getting scarce the world over. The UN tells us fertilizer and GM crops are necessary to feed the planet. We are in trouble.

I haven't studied this, but a poster on another board I visit has who seems to spend a lot of time on the subject has categorically stated that as much as a whole herd of Muslims in "the west" claim Islam is a religion of peace, only one, an Imam in Detroit has actually condemned the violent radicals. Comments?

I do think, in general, MSM is left of center. Fox news, the famous "Fair and Balanced" channel which is a joke of course, is extreme right wing. But why is it the viewership leader? And I'm not being a smart-ass or defending them. It blows me away. I consider myself to be a, by Canadian standards fairly extreme right winger but they are on the loony fringe. Yet their ratings are sky high. It blows me away.

I think the left leaning MSM are more influential in making the bucks for them than the Tea Partiers.

I disagree. Some may be hurt, but there will be some good. For example, maybe finally the Inuit will be able to grow themselves some vegetables. And therefore increase their lifespans significantly. There is always a silver lining.

Serious question. The news for about three years now is about flooding in all kinds of places. And that sort of grabs my attention because through so much of my life, starting in grade 3, we were campaigning for charity for the poor buggers suffering drought. So, anybody got an answer? Again, the change from global warming to climate change? What bullshit.

The main complaint the Tea Party supporters on the board I visit make is that most Republicans in government are in fact "RINO's", Republican In Name Only. Yes, they keep taxes low, but spend just as much as the Dems, if anything making things worse. And the start of the Tea Party was a revolt against that. As I say, they think that Palin and Beck have come on the scene and the MSM cover them and their statements taking away from the actual position of the party holds.

Shouldn't one pay what the market determines? If not that, then what? Please tell me what you think is fair.

I would suggest that that post is somewhat ingenious in that the police in Mexico and Jamaica are a joke. The law may be there but the enforcement isn`t. Too many dead mayors.

This is all very much third party information. I have been regularly visiting a US based message board. Obviously, the rest of the world don`t count, baring Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and N.Korea. But the observations of posts related to the Tea Party have fascinated me. It started out as apparently a true grassroots rebellion against the Republican status quo. Then came all the racist accusations. But many on the board who I respect, and I`m not talking right-wing racist fundie dingbats, went to gatherings are were very supportive. Fine so far but then Palin invaded, stole some (many) members. If some on that board are to believed parachuted in phony Tea Partiers like that silly O`Donnell woman, and basically, as far as the MSM is concerned stole the show. Comments please.
