  1. Yet again, what subsidy is any oilsands operator, or any oil company getting from the feds? Show me a cancelled cheque. Tell me how much money was sent to them. Tell me how much money the government spent to buy their product at a false high price to resell at a lower price, or give to third world countries as foreign aid? A tax break is not a subsidy. More left wing lying propaganda.
  2. You didn't exactly ace Statistics 101, did you?
  3. Well damn, I guess I'll have to vote for Harper afterall.
  4. "Fair and Balanced" Jr.
  5. Of the twelve self proclaimed Libertarians from the US I interact with regularly on this here interwebz thingy, not one has an assault rifle or a cammoflage uniform, nor do they wear tinfoil hats. They believe in strong fiscal conservativism, small government, and citizen's rights. Ron Paul is their hero. PS, Thanks for the link.
  6. Serious question, is there a registered Libertarian Party any where in Canada? Given several test like this, but much more detailed and not dumbed-down on a couple of American forums I visit, I am right there in my political philosophy, but I have never seen or heard of a Libertarian Party in Canada.
  7. I like it because in situations where one spouse has a "good" job and the other has an average or less job, this might be the economic incentive needed for the couple to decide to give their kids a full time parent. And nothing but good comes of that.
  8. A friend of mine anwered all the questions as "neither agree or disagree and rated all the leaders neutrally and equally. The compass put him square on the Liberal spot. His interpretation was that the CBC is trying to influence voters to vote liberal. My tinfoil hat isn't quite that large, but the questions could have at least been phrased a bit better. I, as a test answered everyting as wingnut righty as I could and it still put me only halfway between the Conservatives and the Liberals. I should have been right of the Conservatives with the answers I gave. So yes, I also think it is biased.
  9. Completely wrong. It just removes the tax burden on that money. They get enough.
  10. How does the fact that a political contribution result in a tax credit burden the taxpayer? Are you another one who equates tax reduction to a subsidy?
  11. You just put us in the second class of the world order. Congratulations, silly fellow. I might have actuallly expressed myselfe fully but this venue seems to be pretty gentrified.
  12. I love it. Liberals, the NDP and the Greens all splitting the left of center vote. Reform et al screwed the right for years. Now it's our turn.
  13. Were a party actually trying to help people and the economy, rather than pander for votes (Hi, Jack) they would advocate making obtaining a credit card way harder, thus preventing people without the wherewithal from getting themselves in a position which is almost impossible to dig out of. One poster above who talked about the cards being a way of the less financially enabled to pay for an emergency is correct, but more often than not, that is not how the cards those people have is used. And we all pay, by way of 28% interest rates.
  14. But, as has been said above several times, if you enforce that cap, the banks and other credit card issuers will tighten the screws on who qualifies to have a card. The default rate amoung the lower income people is surprisingly large. They need to cover that expense. It's like the people who demand higher corporate taxes. The corporation is in business to maintain a profit margin so they will just pass the cost on to the consumers, so you actually don't gain anything, and if there is a competitor in China, you lose.
  15. Other than to further comfirm that you are a socialist hack, this impacts on Harper's abilities or policies how?
  16. You have some serious problems, dude. Have you considered thereapy?
  17. As a card carrying small c conservative (subtle way to say Harper pisses me off) I love the Green Party. More lefty positions to split the vote. Go Green!!11!11!
  18. What is that tag line from the cheezy commercial? It isn't a big deal, but it's a good deal. TFSA is OK, but small potatoes.
  19. I'm hard line fiscal conservative. As such, Harper has totally alienated me with just this type of thing. I forget who it was that jumped on me for not liking using the tax system as a method of social engineering. But I don't. However, I hate the use of the tax system as a means of buying votes even more. Sucks to be me.
  20. May as well, they are the same thing. I love it. The vote splitting, just like used to curse the Conservative/Reform supporters. Plus the Green falls in there further splitting it. Great news for us conservatives. (Note the small c.)
  21. Anything that rewards stay at home mom's is worth it. It makes the world a better place. It is good for the kids and good for the nation. I don't know if there are Canadian studies, but I have seen lots of US studies to prove that. If it wasn't so late I'd dig up some links. I didn't know that a**hole Harper was proposing this. Makes him slightly less of an a**hole IMO.
  22. Interestingly enough, I have been disgusted for years about the fact that even in the 80's you could walk into the "First Local Bank of Dumbf**k, Montana" and they would have a coin sorting/counting machine for customers to use, free. And the BMO makes out like they are heros?
  23. What I find most interesting in this thread is that I have been too busy to follow up, but the banner headlines on both the CBC and CTV news websites were like "Ignatief Rejects the Idea of a Coalition". Now you guys are saying he and the Liberals weasel-worded it? I love it.
  24. I think the Olympics should boycott Iran.
  25. You are right and thank you. I was starting to feel like a voice in the wilderness. I been preaching your hymn too.
