None of our parties would ever consider such a thing. They hate facts and logic. They just lust for MSM soundbites and crap like that. Serious debate based on fact and knowledge - dream on. They are all assholes. Our only hope is to try and pick the least assholey one.

Why are Liberals lying about Ignatieff's past again?

Take a look at the average reaction when an Albertan talks separation. Special treatment again. -

But I seriously do. Any activist Supreme Court judge can just make up laws as he/she wishes that way. And to hell with the desires of the public. -

fMy saying we could shoot bloc members was obviously tongue-in-cheek, but really, why aren't they arrested and tried for treason? -

Our constitution is a concept. How weak can you get. No wonder the Supreme Court of Canada feels free to be the champion of social engineering and we are all screwed. -

Sure would decrease minority governments, assuming you would allow us to shoot all bloc members. -

Serious question. I know we have a BNA (British North America) Act. That was the basis of our rule of law for many years. We now also have our Charter of Rights and Freedoms, IIRC. But we do not have a constitution as such. Am I correct? -

That is an accusation which hasn't been verified, I believe. But the haters sure hope. -

I honestly think all the "scandals" involving Stevie and the Tories is mostly opposition hype and MSM wannastory crap. He's a long way from perfect, but still the lesser of evils. -

Did you read http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canadavotes2011/story/2011/04/11/cv-election-ag-report-reaction-1244.html? The AG said "Auditor General Sheila Fraser is urging Canadians to wait for her office's final report on G8 and G20 summit costs after a report on a leaked draft put the campaigning Conservatives on the defensive." That's way different than "won't comment". -

So Iggy lied about voting, Stevie lied about Unit Trusts. Layton is lieing through his teeth about eliminating the deficite. I don't know enough about either the bloc or the Greens to be able to comment, but I'm sure it wouldn't take long to find a lie. They are politicians. Welcome to the real world. But I still don't think Iggy is here for me. And I still think Stevie will hurt me less. Poor position to be in. -

The Ridiculous State of Canada's Legal System
RNG replied to Scotty's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I can have a very strong opinion here since I know virtually nothing about the case or law. I think that in Canadian law, even up to the Supreme Court of Canada, some rulings are concidered precident setting, and essentially define some facet of law. Others are incident specific. I suspect if the actual ruling was read, this one is incident specific, and not legalizing offing the brother-in-law. -

Breaking news on the CBC news website - Auditor general urges 'caution' after leaked G8 report Auditor General Sheila Fraser is urging Canadians to wait for her office's final report on G8 and G20 summit costs after a report on a leaked draft put the campaigning Conservatives on the defensive. http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canadavotes2011/story/2011/04/11/cv-election-ag-report-reaction-1244.html I don't think this is the scandal the opposition wants to make of it, other than stirring up the MSM. It's so sad that making news has become the main focus of most MSM these days. -
Yeah, an how big is NS. I figure three eveready 9 volts could cover it. But that's OK, they think they're important.
-
Yes, and for good reason, but for how long did the old Liberals screw the farmers in western Canda. That started a great precident.
-
Look at what you did to the western farmers with respect to farm machinery and what you are doing to the western oil producer with respect to hydrocarbon. It sucks.

Coal is horribly polluting. Just the radiation itself is scary, makes the current Japanese situation small potatoes in comparison. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=coal-ash-is-more-radioactive-than-nuclear-waste

that was mostly meaningless blather.

You are correct that small disruptions in source can cause large short term price volatility. The fundamentals, however are still solid and the rest of the world can presently absorb the loss of Libyan oil within a month or so. But it is Russia more than Saudi which has significant potential. And we really need the Kitimat LNG plant and synthetic crude terminal.
