Jesus would support gay marriage bill: Senator
Hawk replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Jesus was not 1) Corrupt 2) Without Morals 3) Without Principles 4) Against war or defending yourself ("An armed man guards his home") 5) Accepting of pre-marital sexual relations (look up the 10 commandments) 6) Against Israel 7) Against His own religion 8) Accepting of practising homosexuals Just some food for thought =p -
Muddy, what was the address to that other Western Canadian forums? Just wanna check it out, see what my fellow Albertans feel about some things hehe

I am not overweight, and I have a hard time finding pants that are long enough in my waist size (they are always too short, made for shorter people) Also, working out and jogging help keep you in shape more than most people would admit... ESPECIALLY jogging, even 15 mins every day and you will see a huge difference after a couple weeks

I wouldn't even imagine policy by referendum, mainly due to the problem you bring up. I more meant that I do NOT agree with forcing your MPs to vote a party line, if an MPs riding doesn't support a bill that is being passed then the MP should represent his people not his party.

Problem #1) The ruling government doesn't want majority rule, in case you didn't notice they have gone with the minority on every single piece of legislation they have passed in who knows how long (Gun Registry, SSM, etc) Problem #2) Computers can be hacked, at least any side can claim it was foul play when they get defeated. Therefore it is more of a headache than it is worth, I mean just look at what happened in the USA when they tried electronic voting. Problem #3) They can't force their MPs to vote the party line, I mean why trust the people that elected you... its not like they have any right to decide what you are doing to their country right? I hate elitists, and I despise the Canadian political system for promoting them. So yeah, there is a couple problems with doing it that way, but otherwise a good idea

I will be Premier of Ontario one day
Hawk replied to Big Blue Machine's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Big Blue, if you could actually get elected on that platform you would get my vote =p Sadly, Eastern culture and society in Canada dominates our political landscape, and therefore you have to be an elitist socialist to get anywhere. Yet another reason I believe the confederation should be disintegrated, let us all go our own ways. -

What??? Wow you like to assume things =p So because God doesn't strike down every sinner all at once he is 'letting them slide' and obviously supports them, wow LoL Sorry afraid you might possibly be mis-interpreting things a 'wee bit' -

You haven't explained how God was ok with 2 daughters of Lot being raped, since I see it nowhere in your text. I see that you desecrated a piece of scripture, and put a meaning on it that isn't at all in the texts. Add onto that the fact you claim God is ok with rapists and yeah I would have to say you certainly hit a nerve. SparHawk: Yes. But not redefining marriage, marriage by definition has been one man and one woman. That should not be changed. However I am not against homosexuals having a civil union and the same rights as married couples (NOT more rights), so they aren't infringing on my rights and traditions (and the rights and traditions of 99% of Canada) -

Genesis 19. Read it yourself. But you're right, I was in error - there were actually 2 daughters involved, not one. Here is a link. I knew the old testament had a lot of garbage in it but this example is over the top. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh, hate to break your wet dream but you should read your own link. Also while your at it learn to read, since you obviously are having trouble with it. SparHawk: Religions have no problems with Gay people, they have a problem with Gay sex. Simple as that. If 2 men want to hang out go for it, if they want to have anal sex with each other don't call yourself a Christian. Its not really complicated -
One thing to remember in the aftermath: The primary objective of these kinds of terrorists is to provoke democratic states into over reacting to their attacks. Al Queda succeeded beyond their wildest expectations when the 9/11 attacks provoked the US into invading Iraq. I am sure that a whole host of people will call for further restrictions on the freedom of citizens in order to prevent this kind of tragedy from happening again. We must resist such attempts - turning our society into a police state due to fear of terrorism would simply hand victory to the terrorists. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What, are you an informant for the Terrorists or something? You seem to know everything about their plans and how it succeeded etc. Wow, or maybe you are just rehashing what the Liberal media has been spraying out for months now? As for this attack, its not nearly so bad as 9/11 so don't compare it. It is terrible though, as are all Terrorist attacks. The ones responsible should be hunted down, something the pansey left-wing is literally afraid to do. Its good the British are backed by the USA, at least they know how to stop terrorism. Kill them all.

Of course, He was OK with Lot offering up his daughter to rapists, and then impregnating her himself.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wtf are you talking about? o.0 Learn the scriptures before you critique them, or you look like an ass As for the scripture's stance on homosexuality, it is an issue that isn't even touched in the New Testament (the only testament followed by some religions) but it is blatantly and directly opposed by the Old Testament -
I agree with you to an extent. In fact, I would add that the Chretien/Martin Liberals have done much to harm our welfare state. So, why are people voting for them as opposed to say, voting Conservative, NDP or even forming another political party? I reject your suggestion that only stupid or paranoid people vote Liberal. And I am no Liberal BTW. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In light of the actions made public about Liberal corruption, anyone that still trusts them to run our country is, by definition, stupid or paranoid. At least we agreed on some haha =p

Most of Alberta's oil and gas exports head south, not east. We don't even vote in our own elections now (only 47.7 per cent of Albertans voted last November). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I guess that still leaves us ahead of the national average =p As for oil heading south, sure but do we get to set the prices? Didn't think so

So let me get this straight, socialists blam the USA for going in... yet now you get pissed that they want to rebuild it and help out? Wow, thats all I can say, wow.

If she's Roman Catholic she's a blasphemer. Jesus spread the word of God to try and reform people, He forgave them for their sins. What Jesus didn't do was go around and excuse them for being sinners. This all being if you believe in Jesus and the Catholic Church. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually most major religions do not promote homosexuality, so she is obviously on crack -
LOL I love that last part, wow and its the Liberals that get so ruffled when you stereotype them... hmmm As for Mulroney, as I have said before, what he did pales in comparison to what the Liberals have and are currently doing. So please stop pulling that card =p I still find it funny you think free trade caused tariffs, since that is exactly what it is supposed to eliminate. I would also like to know the source that claims Mulroney caused the US to stop allowing beef over the border.
-
Put simply, because the average Ontarionian is too lazy/scared/stupid to vote out the Liberal party that is screwing over the country.
-
The current Liberal government makes Mulroney blush

Wasn't there talk of her moving to Edmonton at one time? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If there was, it better be gone for good x.x For her sake.

I suppose we shall take this at your word correct? HA thanks but no That proves nothing, not to mention there are more whites in the 'burbs' because there are more whites in general. Also how is that 'racism' even IF that statistic is true? If the 'white' people can afford nicer housing how is that being racist? Are you trying to say racism is keeping 'the rest' from getting good jobs? That is absurd! Affirmative action took care of that one =p Also consider that a higher % of 'white' people actually go on to post-secondary education, but heck that wouldn't have anything at all to do with anything right? As for reserves... Only in Canada would it be considered a step towards equality to erect government-sanctioned barriers between its citizen's racial groups. Wait, so you just admit they have these very big problems, yet it is racism that they... have... them? Your confusin the hell outta me here jones Or maybe its because they are constantly having to swerve to avoid groups of drunken aboriginals sauntering into the road, of course it could also be that the half of them that don't live on the reserve in total poverty happen to live in homeless shelters and rely on welfare that costs tax dollars (that half of them don't pay, according to your own stats). Before you shout 'racist racist!' think about what I said and look into it yourself, there is nothing racist about posting the truth. We are agreed. You are a bigot, enough said. Refer to my above reply.

All I can say is, she better not move to Alberta For those of you who dont know the story behind Homolka check out this link: http://www.crimelibrary.com/serial_killers...x_1.html?sect=5

Martin bought Belinda, and she was more than willing to go. She cared more about her personal career than representing her riding, she deserves every nasty word or bad publicity that gets thrown her way. It had nothing whatsoever to do with leadership. Refer to my earlier post on media portrayals, and how they oftentimes are wrong =p As for doing as they accuse others of doing, explain how exactly they could be responsible for the scandals and money-laundering they are currently accusing the Liberals of? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I've seen Stephen Harper doing a lot of work for Calgary West since he's been making wild stabs at power. I wonder if he's even been to his riding since he's been elected. And since we're on the subject of buying Harper bought MacKay, he was more than willing to sell and only wanted to be part of a larger party and someday be it's leader. Of Course media portrayls are sometimes wrong, I mean Hell we can't have all Liberal media! The Conservatives wouldn't be able to launch massive misinformation campaigns! Where would the fun in that be? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, Harper should certainly be around his riding more... it seems he is never there, always trying to get votes in the East. Its sad that any political party HAS to be center or left-wing just to survive in Eastern Canada, it completely alienates the rest of the country. I personally am not nearly so supportive of the current CPC as I was when Day was running it, simply becase Day had balls. Add to that the fact Harper is slowly but surely going to simply turn the CPC into the next Liberal party, they can't win without being at least centrist. When that happens they wont be the right-wing alternative anymore. As for media bias for the Cons, agreed it exists out West but unfortunately that makes no difference in elections =) Not to mention our media outlets are primarily privately owned and operated, not funded by the ruling dictator.

You just went in a total circle, you say you dont think corruption is good but you support a proven corrupt deity rather than allow another not-yet-proven-one-way-or-the-other deity into power. Sorry, but your argument doesn't fly. You are just paranoid of anything right of center, like a typical socialist.
